+ -1 moreI can't say enough good things about Joe Gardner and Sons Moving! Starting with the appointment, which I had to change several times, due to our closing date being moved - Brenda in the office is great. She understands how it goes when you are buying and selling a house and really worked with us. The guys on the moving crew were awesome. We had a LOT of stuff, for such a small townhouse. We had over 86 boxes of books alone! When the crew leader realized how much we had, they called for reinforcements. More helpers, another truck and even the owner, Bob Gardner, came to help. It was a long, late move, but they were courteous and kept working through the job. I don't know how we would have done it without them! The rate was $100 per hour, plus 1 hour for travel. A great deal, for the amount of work that was done!
Description of Work: Moved us out of a 3 bedroom, 1400 square foot town house.

Description of Work: These guys were amazing. They arrived right on time, were courteous, careful with our furniture, and all of our house items. They worked very fast. I couldn't believe how strong they were for their size. My only complaint isn't about the team, it is that the company did not provide them with a dolly or any of those straps to help carry heavy items. They had to lift very heavy appliances and items like a treadmill, safe, washer/dryer, etc. I also had explained to the customer service person who set the move up that I had a 1700 sq. ft. house and a full 1700 sq. ft basement. I was told it would take 6-7 hours and I explained it would take longer, but she didn't agree. In the end it took them 2 truckloads, and 10.5 hours, which I'm not complaining about- as we had a lot of "stuff", but then the team was scheduled for a second move after ours, which they had to do that night. So after 10.5 hours at our house they had another house to move. I realize this is not my business but I felt awful for these guys, who were pretty exhausted when they left me.

+ -1 moreThey arrived about 5 minutes earlier than planned and got to work right away once they did a quick survey of my stuff. I told them I wanted to be done in the 2 hour minimum if possible and they said it wouldn't be an issue. The three gentlemen that showed up were AWESOME. very courteous and worked quickly to get my stuff moved. I haven't found any damage and so I am a happy customer.
Description of Work: Moved my one bedroom to a new location about 25 minutes away. Items included bed, dresser, living room set, many bins, and other assorted items.

+ -1 moreThey showed up when the said they would and brought a truck big enough to handle the whole load in one trip. They worked hard, and their cost was way lower then other quotes. I would use them again.
Description of Work: They moved our house of furniture about 10 miles ... done in about 6 hours ... Their quote was way lower than their competitors, so I was a bit worried, but they delivered.

+ -1 moreThey showed up on time. They looked over our bounty and figured it would take 3 trips. They worked hard, they respected our possessions and our property. The crew was helpful, friendly and they kept busy. It took 2 loads and 7 hours. Nothing was broken, nothing was lost. They earned every penny and we were happy to pay them. Would use them again.

+ -1 morea So reasonably priced compared to other estimates I obtained. (Less that 1/2!) I gave them the information over the phone, they have a flat rate per hour, and they gave me a guess on how many hours it would take. I was worried that they may and quot;lingerand quot; over the move in order to beef up the hours, but based on a few other positive recommendations from friends, we took a chance. Once they got there the Lead mover said it would take two loads and I thought, welp, there you have it-double the price. Even with the two trips they came in just under what they had estimated. The movers were courteous and efficient. I saw no dilly-dallying. We have to move again in a few months once our new house is built and I will use them. They helped take the stress out of this double move and eased our budget a bit at the same time!
Description of Work: Moving from a 1600 square foot house plus a fully loaded basement into the basement of a family member to store until our house is built. Update: used them again for our second move and again had a positive experience. They ran a bit late for the start of the move but the office kept me informed. We were the second move of the day and they had fit us in so that we could move that day.

+ -1 moreWe always use him when we move locally. He was very reasonably priced. They are very timely and show up when they say they will and get it done when they say they are going to. They don't scratch, dent or break anything. We have used them probably about 10 times. I checked around to other local companies and they were the most reasonable.

+ -1 moreI hired this moving company once in the past and had excellent service. I hired them again when I bought a house but three different workers reported for the job. They were whiney, irresponsible, inefficient and incredibly slow. They turned a potentially 5 to 6 hour job into 8 hours costing me $850. I had some very minor damage on a dresser but my complaint lies in the fact that they were so slow. I had four people helping them, one of whom I paid. I called the company office and left messages for the owner to return my call - ten times!! The owner is not interested in customer satisfaction - she cashed my check, end of story. I also mailed a registered letter outlining my complaint, she refused it.
Description of Work: Moving my belongings from a second story apartment into a two story house approximately 2 miles away. I had many, many boxes & storage bins that were properly packed & labeled. I also had storage on the third floor of the apartment which was moved by friends & family members. I have typical furnishings for a 2-bedroom home without appliances. There were 31 steps from the street to the apartment.
