nice guy, honest. did a good job, and came back to replace a shrub that died, without me even asking.

I thought the project went well until we had a good rain a few days after the project was finished. It was then that I noticed at the roof run off drainage pipe that the rain had washed away the mulch and top soil, exposing plant roots in several spots. I covered the exposed roots with top soil I had on hand and covered the area with the mulch set down by the provider. With the settling of the soil/mulch I also noticed 2 places where the crew had nicked the vinyl siding, one large nick and one smaller one. This was very bothersome because I would have thought that as professionals they would know not to use the weed whacker so close to the house. The provider was contacted regarding both issues. The provider sent a crew back to divert the roof run off out beyond the planting bed. Upon reflection I believe, as a landscaping provider, both of these issues would have been taken into consideration in planning out the project. In addition, all the dead weeds were left for a while on good grass and later that area died. Luckily, the nicks in the siding are close to the ground and I can put extra mulch in that area to cover up their mistake. I did recommend to the provider that in the future his crews pay more attention when using their weed whackers.

Our overall experience with J&J Lanscape was very good. The representative (Patrick White) came to our home & gave us an estimate at the agreed upon time. He was pleasant to deal with & very professional. He took measurements of the damaged areas & within 20 min. , he was able to give us a dollar estimate (in writing) for total cost of repair and approximate date of their company's availablity (if we decided to contract with them) for the job. When we called back to book the appointment, they put us on their schedule, and right on time they contacted us to do the project. The J&J Landscape team showed up promptly on the appointed day & worked straight through. The site foreman was very courteous & professional to deal with. The representative we had spoken to (Patrick) also came on site that day to check on the project. They estimated 2 days to complete the job & actually finished ahead of schedule. They did a great job (areas looked so much better than we could have hoped for) with the amount of property damage we had! The foreman also went out of his way to preserve my beautiful peonie bush that was right in the path of their repair. Since we had already lost so many of our shrubs and plants, I was very grateful for this! We would definitely recommend this company for anyone who needs a reliable, professional group of people to come in & get the job done right!

I rated this company as bad due to the poor response. I did not have any work done by this company. I contacted this company for an estimate to repair a retaining wall outside my walk-out basement. The wall was no longer straight and leaning inward. Arranging for the estimate at my house was a hassle. The estimator was late on the 1st visit and I missed him as I had to pick up my child from an activity. The 2nd visit was cancelled by the estimator about 2 hours prior to the scheduled time. The 3rd time was the charm as far as the visit. I explained to the estimator that I wanted to repair the retaining wall which is made of pressure-treated lumber. The estimator measured the wall and indicated I would hear from them with the estimate. He did state that Patrick (the owner) would most likely want to replace the wall with stone, rather than repair the lumber. I did not want this done as there are actually 2 retaining walls and 1 of stone and 1 of lumber would look awful. I never heard from the company after the visit. It seems that this company (and others) do not want small jobs that will probably not make any money for them.

These guys did an amazing job! Even my wife who is extremely critical was so happy with everything and could not find one single thing she wished was done differently! I got a quote from another landscaper for more than 2x of J&J's price which I couldn't afford. I then got a referral of J&J from my neighbor, so I gave them a call ~ 4 weeks ago. Pat White came out to my house about a week later to give me an estimate. I recalled that they had planted some beautiful trees in my back yard some years ago. Needless to say, I was impressed that J&J's quote was $1440 (compared to the other quote I had that was $3775). Pat told me only what was needed (no upsell) and he offered to trim my shrubs as part of the deal. They came to my house on July 7, 2011 (exactly the day they said they would come). They had a crew of 4 people. It took them all day. We weren't home when they did the work. I had a quick chat about what was going to be done. I left a case of bottled water outside for the crew, which they appreciated. My family and I took off for the day and when we returned we saw the most amazing landscape! They cleaned up everything, took away all of the debris and old mulch. I highly recommend this outfit to anyone! They are priced fairly. They are prompt. They do GREAT work!!!
