Description of Work: Built a solid fence along my back property line - approximately 110 feet. First of all - and most importantly - the quality of workmanship was excellent. Example: one board split slightly while it was being nailed, and it was replaced immediately. They are a bit pricey compared to other companies. They were a little difficult getting them here in a timely manner.

Description of Work: They installed privacy fence with service and access gate and black vinyl chain link fence with another access gate around a large backyard. They came back twice to address stability issues with the service gate resulting from very strong winds and then again with stability issues with a post located over a septic tank. Both jobs were taken care of promptly and to my satisfaction. Great people from the sales staff and supervisors to the actual hard workers that got the job done!

 + -1 moreI have used Atlas Fence for the fencing around my yard for more than 20 years. The last time was last June when they came to replace a very old and awkward piece of fencing around my pool. It was a very tight space with a lot of trees that made the post digging difficult. The distance from the actual fence to the pool was less than 4 feet and yet not one spec of dirt got into the pool. The most astounding part of the experience was that i had 15 year old climbing hydrangea that had covered the old fence. I carefully pulled them off the fence myself and tied the up between the house and trees...just on the chance that they could be saved. I asked the crew if they would try not to damage them. They were absolutely amazing and although there were about 30 plants more than 7 feet tall and all in the way of the new fence...not one was in any way damaged. This is a solid respectful company that does outstanding work. I have found through all of my dealings with them that they are honest and do exactly what they promise. I have found that their pricing is slightly higher than some other companies, but actually ends up costing less when you consider their high quality of materials and installation experience, professionalism and the things I've mentioned above. I will most definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreI had called upon four fence companies to get estimates on the project, and subsequently set appointments with each. One company deciced a no-call/no-show was the best way to handle my (non)business. Another asked me for the dimensions of my yard over the phone (they were, of course, ruled out instantly without question). I finally had the chance to meet with both the gentleman from Atlas and his competitor. I won't say that the competitor did a poor job during the appointment, but they definitely did not do an "Atlas" job. The sales representative from Atlas was prompt, polite, and respectful, characteristics that I consider ever-rare now adays. I was shown samples, pictures and brochures as well as offered suggestions as to what would work best for my yard. The young man was simply helpful and never rude. I was also impressed with the various features and benefits of the products I was shown. Everything was made easy. Making a decision on this which company we would choose was easy for us. While prices were pretty similar, the thorough and helpful consultation given to us by Atlas ended up being our reason for going with them. Basically, they were the company in which we were the most confident. As the job was carried out, we were proven right. Within the exact time promised by the salesman, we had Atlas trucks in our driveway. Similar to the original representitive, the installation crew members were also a pleasure to deal with. They carried out their work in a diligent manor and were true professionals. If ever they were unsure as to how I wanted something done, they would as me before they did it. This made me feel as if I were a part of the project and gave met yet more confidence that everything was going well as the whole thing unfolded. The job was finished according to the timeframe initially promised. It turned out amazing. From top to bottom, the company is, in a word, professional. We are glad that we had went with Atlas and will be sure to recommend the company to anyone considering a fence. In retrospect, going with them was an easy, yet truly wise choice.
Description of Work: We had a white vinyl privacy fence, in addition to a black chain link fence installed around the property. The purpose of the fence was to offer some privacy, curb appeal, and mostly, containment for our two dogs.

Description of Work: We had them remove a 4 foot aluminum fence that they installed back in 2005 when we built our home and replace it with a 6 foot steel fence because we needed the height for puppies we were purchasing in August. There wasn't anything wrong with the existing fence other than the height. We spent over 11,000 dollars on the existing fence back in 2005. We were REPEAT customers. We met with the salesman at our home to measure and get quote for the removal of the old fence and the cost of installing the new one. We agreed to the price quote and gave them a 5000 dollar deposit with a start date of 6-8 weeks out. We never heard from them again so at just about 10 weeks we called them. They were planing on being there by the end of the week, or so they said. We were a little upset that no one had called us with a heads up about the delay. We also decided to see what reviews were on Angies list to check if anyone had had problems. We got a nice surprise when up popped a 10% off coupon good until 2013. The coupon was only on Angies site and not their regular site. We printed the coupon and sent it on to Atlas asking if they would apply the discount to our bill.. No response. Called Atlas about the coupon and they said to fax a copy of it. Didn't they KNOW they had a coupon on Angie's list ? We faxed it 3 times ....still no response. Got a hold of the salesman and he asked WHY we would want a 10% coupon from Angie's list when they already gave us 27% off the price. HUH ???????????? We didn't get any discount , no sale price, no consideration for being repeat customers. Pulled out the contract to confirm there was no discount applied. He sent us some manufactured piece of paper that we had never even seen before that had a bunch of figures on it and showed a 27% discount. We called the supplier to see what they would charge us to order the same fence directly. We found out that Atlas not only didn't give us a 27% DISCOUNT but added a substantial mark up to the cost of the fence material they charged us for. I might add that we did not dispute the cost of the fence quote....... but were taken back when they did not want to honor the Angie's list coupon and lied about the 27% discount. They also tried to say that the Angie's list coupon could not be applied with any other discount even though we didn't receive another discount. They also put on the wrong latches and would not replace all the posts that they drilled wrong . We have one gate where the holes they drilled wrong were filled and painted over. It was their mistake as the contract clearly stated the kind of latches we wanted but they refused to replace the post for the double gate that was drilled wrong. I also want to add that they sent me a bill a few days after they started the fence asking for MORE money. We had given them a 5000 dollar deposit months ago but the latest bill only showed we gave them 2500 hundred dollars. They said the other 2500 hundred dollars would be applied to the final balance. HUH ? None of this was in the contract so I said I would pay the balance on completion. They sent us a final bill which DID NOT reflect the Angie's list discount. I sent them a check for the balance and deducted the coupon myself. I sent them a certified letter along with a copy of our contract which showed NO discount and let them know the company told us what the material actually cost. I demanded they send a bill reflecting the discount offered on Angie's list. They did agree to give us the 10% off and the matter was closed. You would think they would treat repeat customers a little better. Had we not taken it upon ourselves to call the makers of the fence directly for a material quote and checked our their add on Angie's List ........ we may very well have ended up paying their jacked up price for this fence.

 + -1 moreWe are having some issues. We have held back some money and they have to come back and redo some things. They do seem willing to come back and make good on some of the things that are wrong. Some of the posts were split and they were supposed to replace those before they finished building the fence and they didn?t. The workmanship was poor and the fence doesn't come together in spots. There are areas where they didn't use the red cedar that we purchased; they used some cheaper wood. They also piled the debris on my flowerbeds; they were supposed to remove it and put it in a specific place that we designated. It was pretty sloppy workmanship. The installer never came to inspect the final project and he is supposed to come next week. We believe it will be difficult to fix many of the areas because of the poor workmanship. The pricing was good. Update| As a result of discussions with the company, they sent another team out who corrected the issues and made things right. Some of the cedar is slightly different color, but i am assured the wood is all cedar. They were very responsive to our concerns and we now have a beautiful fence. I would now recommend using this company. I would not have it completed, however, in a rainy period!

 + -1 moreI contacted at least 5 fence contractors. Atlas was one of the first to respond and did an excellent job of explaining their products. They recommended their high end steel fence which we thought would be a lot more expensive than aluminum. When we added in the options, it turned out that it was competitive in cost and had several advantages for us. It was still a lot of money, but fit our needs best. Their contract and requirements before installation seemed overly extensive but probably good for everyone so there are no misunderstandings or problems later. The did a good pre-install visit to make sure they understood conditions and we understood what we had to do and what would take place. There was a short delay but this was explained and unavoidable--they were pretty good about keeping us informed. The material and work was very quick, accurate, just as we asked, and of excellent overall quality. There were two visits: one for the posts and the second for hanging the fence, but there was no need to contact them after since everything was done just as we wanted. I would highly recommend them and use them again myself if the need arose.
