Everything went fine. They came when they said they were going to and they were punctual.

Carl was extremely professional. All calls were returned promptly, he showed up when he said he would, even phoning ahead to let us know of his arrival. He also presented us with a packet of references, which included copies of all his licensing papers, etc. He was very forthcoming and straightforward. We even went to see some of his work in a nearby neighborhood, which was top notch. We had no doubt at all about the quality we would receive from Carl, but, ultimately, we decided to go in a different direction.

From the first contact to the last Carl is a man of his word focused upon your satisfaction with the quality and durability of the work. The crews arrive on time, and are focused upon their work and providing you with a quality product. They are willing to change design mid job if you are unhappy with the look. Carl spends a lot of time making sure the products you choose really are the ones you want, going as far as visiting the stone yard with you to ensure you are able to touch and see all of your options. The willingness to make slight changes and remove and reinstall stone that just didn't look right was awesome, he never made you feel awkward about anything. He truly takes a great deal of pride in turning out a product that is breathtaking and built to last, going above code in several instances to get better results. At the end of many weeks worth of work, with a crew of guys that were professional at all times, I don't see how we could have asked for a more gorgeous finished product. Carl will not be the lowest bid you will get, but his finished product truly embodies the old saying "good work isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't good," I'm happy we found a true craftsman.

I made my initial call 2 weeks ago, the job started last week and was completed in 4 partial days. We received frequent updates. All meetings and work took place right on schedule. The work crew cleaned up & closed up (gates, etc) nicely each day. When our dogs got out and left pawprints in the concrete one day and the sand the next (!) the crew dealt with it in stride. We were extremely impressed with the workmanship and customer service -- would definitely use again & highly recommend!

Carl called me the next morning after my inquiry. He visited my house a day later and we agreed on the work and price. Carl met me at the material yard and assisted with selecting the right products for my project and he started the project within 3 days. His crew was early the first day and remained all day and half of another day. Carl was present on the job each day to check on the work, his crew and my overall happiness.They completed the work on time and cleanly. His crew are professional and real craftsmen. I never met Carl before last week and have already recommended his company to a neighbor. I will continue to do so. Great job.

Carl was very eager to return my initial call. Once we talked on the phone, we scheduled an onsite, which he was punctual for. During the onsite (Saturday 10/26), he gave me a quote for the discussed work and then told me that by Tuesday (10/29) I should receive a full quote in a welcome packet along with pictures on DVD of the work he had completed. I have not received this nor have received any follow up phone call from Carl. Today's date is 11/11/2013 and we have since signed up to work with another vendor, but have still not heard from Carl. I am not sure why, even with being a member of Angies list, it seems like all vendors are the same. I'd rather hear form a vendor that they do not want to quote our job if it's not worth it to them. At least then I'd have an answer instead of waiting around and or trying to chase down the vendors myself. ****UPDATE 11/14/2013 - It is apparent that vendors take these reviews seriously and I can appreciate the fact that Carl has followed up with me based on my review. I find it extremely important that Carl took this step. It is responses like mine and yours which are honest responses about how we feel the service is handled. Hopefully all lessons are learned and improvements are made in vendor practices. Unfortunately for Carl it was too late with regards to my project, but we wish him the best and future success.

Carl did a great job. It was not a straightforward project, yet he navigated it perfectly. E.g. the mason yard delivered sub-par materials; Carl noticed it, notified the supplier, and pushed for an accelerated delivery of a new batch. It delayed the construction by a couple of weeks, but would have been much worse had Carl not been on top of the problem the whole time. We felt very well taken care of through the whole process; he was incredibly responsive, kept us in the loop of what was going on at every step of the process, and the patio turned out beautifully. The only caveat for the future users is to make sure you have correct measurements; we did not, and ended up having to pay extra. However, I am not putting the blame on Carl - we should have made sure that the measurements he quoted were the ones we intended for the patio. All in all, we were very happy with Carl's firm, and would definitely consider using him in the future for other jobs.

From start to finish this was the right company to do the work on my home and I was extremely happy with their service. I called for an appointment, which was arranged and kept. In addition, the estimate was not only emailed that evening, but Carl also called to confirm it was received and to ask if I had any questions. My job was scheduled to start on the 19th and on the morning of the 19th the crew arrived and work began. The foreman, Al, made sure to keep me in the loop, which I greatly appreciated, and smilingly told me to remember "it's a work in progress" especially when we were in the middle of the job and there was dirt piled in the yard. He also patiently answered my questions (and I am sure I repeated myself several times) and accommodated a couple of revisions I made during the project. On the last day of the job I was not around, but when I pulled into my driveway and walked around I couldn't have been happier. The "work in progress" was completed and it was exactly what I wanted. Carl called that evening to make sure I was satisfied, which I most certainly was, and he also stopped by the next day. Al and the crew were always prompt, considerate, and worked hard; they were professionals throughout the project. When you want the job done right this is the company to call.

It took a week and -- Project went great. . All the workers were nice, easy to ask questions. The owner, Carl, stopped by every few hours to see how project was going.. We didnt get other prices- since he was a local vendor and had good reviews on Angies list , but certainly felt his price was more than fair. Lastly after living with the bluestone on our steps more than 2 weeks - We were troubled by a an off color , of one of the stones ( I guess its a personal preference ) - & Carl returned prompted ( 2 wks after project was finished & he was paid in full ! ) - & brought along other stones to choose from... Then he had 2 of his workers drill out the stone ( that was alreaady cemented in ! ) that bothered us & replace it with the new stone - on a weekend ! He said he wanted to " make us happy" and he sure did . I have never dealt with any vendor that really cared so much & was so honorable ! Definitly use this company !

My experience with Carl Bongiorno was excellent. He was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. He offered many wonderful suggestions. The quality of the job was exceptional. It was extremely easy to contact him when I had questions. The laborers were always on time and were extremely neat, my property was left neat and clean every day. I would highly recommend Carl Bongiorno to anyone looking for masonry/landscaping service.

If you are reading this review, you are inquiring into masonry work, landscaping, etc. You just FOUND your guy. You do not need to look any further. As I recently moved from Stony Brook to Centerport, I had seen some of his work in the Stony Brook area and knew of his professional reputation in the area. Not knowing who to turn to or who to trust, I called Carl Bongiorno. I placed the call to Carl and he got back to me right away. We set up an appt for Carl to assess the property. He arrived on time just as he said he would. He got back to me with a written estimate, payment schedule, and we set a start date as I wished to move forward. On the first day work began, Carl's crew arrived promptly and they did so every day until the job was complete. Carl's crew is AMAZING! During the brutal heatwave of the summer, they endured working on my front porch with such grace (I made sure to provide them with a cooler of plenty of water, gatorade and money for the ice cream man too!). They were polite and courteous. Their SKILL and WORKMANSHIP are TOP KNOTCH! Everyone in the neighborhood who pass by give such high praise to their work. The porch really is beautiful. Thanks so much! As I was working while the job was being performed, Carl remained in touch with me via telephone, text and/or email, informing me of the work as it was progressing. As the work on the porch was progressing, I strayed from my original design plan. Carl worked with me every step of the way with such professionalism to give me the porch and design aesthetic I was looking for. ** As my home needs landscaping work also, I had Carl draw up several plan ideas for my home which included 1) keeping the driveway where it is, 2) moving it from one side to the other and 3) a circular driveway. Carl met me at my home on all 3 occassions to go over each new plan. Throughout this entire process, Carl has been extremely patient and am looking forward to working with him in the future. I highly recommend Carl Bongiorno for all of your masonry and landscaping needs!

THE JOB WAS COMPLETED EFFICIENTLY, ON TIME AND PROFFESIONAL

This was in the aftermath of Hurrricane Sandy and the neighborhood looked like it had been bombed. Nevertheless, Carl showed up promptly, gave a fair estimate and completed the work as promised. We were not at home when he did the work, but when we returned (other than the absence of any traces of the tree), one could hardly tell they had been there. The job site and access paths to it were spotless.

Everything went well. They were punctual & respectful of our property. They were neat & cleaned up after themselves. Always ready to listen & change as we asked. Carl's suggestions were much appreciated. He is a credit to his profession. The finished job is beautiful.

LIke Bongiorno, I also own a business which lives or dies based on making every client happy so they wil lsing our praises to everyone they know. Operating a business like this means 15 hour days/ 7 day workweeks and sacrifices to time spent with family and friends, but you either live by the code in a service business or become one of the million who get a "C" rating. This simple ethic is indeed a dying art today, Carl gets it. He does what he says he will do, when he says he will do it, at the cost agreed to. Like my business, Bongiorno is not the cheapest guy out there, but anyone who doesn't understand that you get what you pay for isn't being realistic. In stark contrast to the company I had install my pool, Bongiorno is cut from the old fashioned cloth of being truthful, respectful, and treating every customer like the most important one he has. And like my business, EVERY customer deals with the Owner, so for all these reasons, he is the ONLY mason/ landscaper i would ever recommend.

It could not have gone better. This is the third major project that Carl has completed at my home. i have been hiring contractors for various jobs at the same address for 37 years and know a winner when I find one and Carl is one!!! Not only is he knowledgeable, creative and professional, he knows how to make the process painless and comfortable. He is courteous, and easy going. He is on time, on budget and finishes as well as he starts. His workers reflect the same attitudes, everyone we have come in contact with are well presented, courteous,professional, skilled and deal with me with patience and with grace. I don't write reviews, I am not easily impressed, I usually feel like if I pay you, you are suppose to do it well, etc. However, when someone beats my expectations, I think they deserve credit, which is why I'm writing this. The crew was professional, punctual and performed quality work. It was a long term project, and spanned several since as they were waiting for contractors to progress, enabling them to continue with their scope of work. They worked great with other trades and completed the work on time and within budget.

Carl is very professional . He presented us with a very detailed proposal. His price was reasonable and he was in constant contact with us regarding this extension. His crew was neat and arrived on time. They did a beautiful job on our driveway and we are just thrilled with the workmanship. We highly recommend CARL BONGIORNO & SONS . Carl did a beautiful granite rock wall for us a few years ago and it is stunning. We just love it!!!

I can't say enough about my latest experience with Carl Bongiorno & Sons. This being the 3rd time/project and both Carl and his fine crew doing a spectacular job. This project in particular was most trying as there was water/leaking issues within my home that required detailed resolution. I literally had to have drains dug out along the perimeter of my entire home. Once complete, happily no leaks to report. The next task was to reconstruct a patio that was not installed/graded properly by the previous owner..in the end, graded perfectly with an added rock wall. I then wanted space in the rear of the property utilized, the end result a gorgeous patio and fire pit far exceeding expectations. Lastly, ripping out the entire front walk and reconstruction...this literally being completed today and I couldn't be happier. Carl was in constant contact in person, via phone,text and email along with providing detailed progress reports and written estimates of every stage of the project.I without hesitation would recommend Carl to any and all..my GC so impressed that he already has requested estimates forensuing jobs. Along with Carl, hats off to his fine crew who were always courteous and respectful ..extremely appreciative of any cold beverage offered...My interaction with any and all always professionally handled and any questions answered immediately.In a nutshell, thank you Carl for a job well done..as in the past, I will happily refer your services to any and all..
