Description of Work: Remove old wood garage door and opener, and install new fiberglass insulated door with new Liftmaster Elite opener. I used John about 15 years ago when living in another house, and was very impressed with his attention to detail and quality, and going the extra mile to do a perfect installation. He actually cared about the work he did and wanted to see a satisfied customer. |When I needed a new door and opener this March 2015, he was the first call I made. (I did get 2 other estimates, just to make sure). |The biggest variable is the type and model door you want. John is not a salesman, he is an installer, so I recommend that you do your own research on what type, model and insulation value, windows, etc that you want. |John did a great job! I highly recommend him.

+ -1 moreI've used Suffolk Overhead Doors since 2000 when I bought my present house. They had installed the original opener for the previous owner, and at my request replaced the original garage door opener on my house with a newer model, and later installed a torsion bar and spring to give extra strength and security to my double wide garage door. Each time John Pederson was the technician, and he has nearly 30 years of experience in this trade. This most recent installation was a gift to my daughter and her husband at their house. Because there was not much clearance between the rafters and the single garage door, John went the extra mile and cut small notches in the rafters to accommodate the strut, and then for extra support he installed angle iron from the top of each rafter to the ceiling joist with lag screws. John arrived when he said he would and did a professional job. I would recommend this firm without reservation, and I will use them again when the need arises.
Description of Work: Installed a garage door opener to include one 8' strut, 2 springs, two retainer cables, 4 3" pulleys, white vinyl weatherstripping, 2 transmitters and one keypad.

+ -1 moreEverything was done and cleaned up in 2 1/2 hours. A two man team provided quick courteous and professional service. I would say of all home contractors in my experience which would be about 30-45, These guys were on the top 5 list.

Description of Work: Repair garage door opener. Spring snapped and needed to be replaced. The technician was polite, professional and performed the repair in a timely manner.

+ 0 moreFantastic. They took all the uncertainty about dealing with a contractor away and left us with not just a good experience but a Great Experience.
Description of Work: Hans, helped with the selection of colors and type of doors best for the house. He personally did the estimate and scheduled the installation of the garage doors. The were installed in a day, look beautfiul and have been used daily for two years and are in great shape. We weren't having any problems but as a precautionary action we called about having the doors serviced before this recent winter. They sent an installer who spent an hour checking and servicing the doors which are still beautfiul and work great.

+ -1 moremeasured two car garage door opening and at his showroom showed us samples of colors for both doors. He explained that the color we picked would require a 2 week wait. And, in 2 weeks exactly he called and scheduled the installation and had two installers come and install the doors in a morning. We found the process very good, our opinion was listened to and they worked clean and quickly and explained all the features of the automatice doors and their safety features. Overall we were very satisfied with Hanz and Suffolk Overhead Doors
