This was a terrible experience. Workers had no respect for my home at all. We were told they would cover the furniture and beds before drilling in the ceiling. I went in my son's room (he was 3 at the time) when they started working. Not only did they not cover anything, but they put their dirty tools on my son's bed. I had to follow them to every room and cover everything, then clean up after them when they left. One of them had the audacity to do a bowel movement in my bathroom and stunk up my whole house. It was disgusting. I had to bleach my entire bathroom. One of the workers got hurt and yelled out "mother f***er," which my three-year-old then repeated. They showed up late, were extremely unprofessional, and did a sloppy job labeling our electrical box, with the words spelled incorrectly. They drilled holes in beams, then never put the wire through. They made holes in two places in one of the bedrooms and left it like that. I discovered it days after they had gone (the holes were behind the door inside the room). My husband came home one day to find them using his materials in our garage without our permission. I heard one of them say they were installing a receptacle that was used....gee no wonder why it wasn't working. We expected all new receptacles. We already had used ones, we didn't need them replaced with other used ones so we could pay twice. I asked them to tell me when they were going to shut off the electric, since I was working on my computer. They never told me, shut it off, then turned it back on. The power surge fried my computer. We were told they had to leave early one day and would have to return to complete the job. After the total cost for the job was agreed upon, signed for and paid, we then received a bill in the mail saying we owed more money for the additional time when they came back. The owner, Scott Johnson was the one who said they had to come back. We didn't ask for that; we wanted the work done. Who would want to extend a job an extra day? I already had enough of them and wanted them out of my house; I certainly would not request for them to have to come another day. I called to say I wasn't paying for additional time for his workers because that was not our fault they had to come back. They screwed up. I also told the owner about the holes in the wall. He said he would come to repair it. He never came and never called. We left several messages, and he never returned our calls. In those messages we asked for a user manual for the fire/carbon monoxide alarm. We never got one. After the job was done, we kept discovering things that they didn't do, they did incorrectly or they ruined. The owner was totally unresponsive. This is a neighbor who lives only a few blocks away. He's also a NYC firefighter. Shame on him. It's bad enough to screw people, but to do it to people who live near you is really pitiful. We pass his house and see his truck, him and his family all the time. He should be ashamed of himself. I would NEVER recommend him or his company. I thought he was a good person, but I was mistaken, and his workers were even worse. They were completely irresponsible, negligent, unprofessional and had no respect for me or my home.
Description of Work: Installed new electrical box, fire/carbon monoxide alarm, replaced all receptacles and installed electric in ceilings in 3 bedrooms and 3 in basement.
