Horrible service with discriminating and unprofessional employees. They were discriminatory with me in my property after I disagree with the raising of the prices for the service in site…theirs employee told me that here is not NYC to have immigrants ( bc my accent). I called the company to report to the owner (Mike) the problem and he was raising his voice completely blind to the behavior reported and I could see these actions were protected and encouraged in his company. I came to this company as a referral but I had a terrible experience. The price here in my property at the day they came to do the job was 20% above the quote they gave me by phone with some hidden fees and extra charges that NEVER was told me before, plus a disrespectful person full of attitude since he arrived. It is just a waist of time, shade service with these extras and very rude people. Here is not NYC and is not Ku Klux Klan too. Respect is always priceless! Some people have “price” and other values. The service was about to discharge a abandoned oil tank in my backyard.

Efficiency is a word I live by. It is very rare to find nowadays. Hats off to the Connor Brothers!! I love to write but I am going to keep it short. First of all, to you Mike. Your phone and text communication was professional and respectful. Thank you for being precise and giving a fair price for the work needed in my home. Secondly and most importantly: Mike and Frank, don't ever let go of the two Professional Service men, THE CONNORS BROTHERS, which you sent to remove and install a new (YES NEW!!!) oil tank in my residence. I am a former instructor of the "hands on" trades. Therefore I enjoy watching when work such as this is being done especially in my home. On that note, I don't know The Connors by first name so I will go with Connor 9 year and 5 year. Connor 9: Your patience and experience with the installation was superior. At one point you were taking measurements of the tank. There really was no reason to but you did anyway to assure everything would go smooth. Secondly, rather than cross-threading a fitting you paid very close attention and maneuvered the tank a few times to assure smooth turning of the fitting to fit tightly. Throughout this work, I conversed with you asking several questions relating to the installation to which as you explained and answered me, you continued working; a perfect sign of multitasking! My tank was full. The oil had to be pumped out and as it was being done, you closely observed that none of the sludge would be used to re-enter to my new tank which would surely clog my feed line to my boiler and create extensive additional problems to the oil burner in so many undesirable ways. For this alone I am so grateful as I maintain my oil burner myself and understand such problems. During this critical time in this pandemic, you wore a face mask and gloves at ALL times, even when I told you that if you were not sick you don't need to wear it in my home (you stated, "I rather keep it on"). Thank you Conner 9! Conner 5: You are clearly passionate of your work. As your brother was tightening a fitting, you already had the next tool in your hand ready for him to use without him asking (Efficiency at its best) for it. You were preparing the new tank with fittings, the gauge reader, new valve, and the support legs. On each given moment, you assured to lubricate (pipe dope) each fitting for smooth installation. At one point as you were working you were going to rest your hand against the wall and although it was not a painted wall which could have been stained, you refrained immediately from doing so (purely professionalism). At another instance as you were preparing the new tank, you could hear the oil being pumped out and it would making a hissing sound at one of the connections. You immediately went to observe it to assure it was not going to leak or burst. I call this self discipline! You later on went to install the existing copper feed line to the NEW (YES NEW) tank. You took care of re-flanging the copper line and attached the new fitting properly to the tank. When the tank was filled, you then proceeded to my oil burner, turned it back on and bled the line to clear any air and checked boiler to assure it was running. Once again, throughout all of this I conversed with you as well and you continued working as you explained the process of what you were doing. Finally, as Conner 9 was putting the tools and equipment away, you wiped down the NEW tank with a cleaning liquid and inspected all fittings for leaks. Thank you for caring for my home. One final note to any PRIOR and future readers. During this entire procedure, NOT ONE DROP OF OIL SPILLED ON MY FLOOR in and/or outside of my property. The entire job was completed in a few hours! Thank you Timms Petroleum for recommending Century Utility!! Gentlemen (Mike and Frank), one day you will retire and need a replacement to continue Century Utility Systems. The Connors Brothers are clearly your future investments as leaders and would prove worthy in this business. DON'T LOSE THEM !! Thank you ALL for your professionalism and expert service! If there were a way I could bold this review in RED for all readers, I would! I doubt I will need you again for another 50 years (for another tank). God Bless!!

After leaving a message, Mike promptly returned my call and I explained that my oil tank was leaking. He gave me an estimate over the phone for a replacement and sent two techs to my house. The techs looked over the job and put temporary patches over the holes to stop the oil leak and scheduled me for a replacement the next day...(this put my mind at ease)... I opted for the 275g Roth tank and to relocate it outside. The tech gave me a final estimate of what it would cost and thats what it cost. The work performed was exceptional with attention to detail. The old fuel oil was pumped into the new tank, new lines were run, floors were all protected and the old tank was cut up and hauled away...I was very happy with the Job and I would recommend them to all my friends.

They came to my home to install an above ground tank. My wife told them the tank look old but, the workers told her the tanks are shipped from the factory uncovered and that is why it looked old. They also told my wife they will not replaced old rusted pipes that connected the tank to my boiler. My wife requested to speak with a Supervisor and the workers called on the phone Mike. Mike was rude and scream at my wife on the phone. My wife called me to let me know they were going to install an old tank and that Mike had screamed at her. I called Mike and asked him why he screamed at my wife and he said he did not, he just has a loud voice. He also said that my wife was delaying the installation because she was asking too many questions. I told Mike that if they were going to install an old tank and not replaced rusted pipes, I did not want his services. I also did not like his attitude so I asked him to remove their tank and leave.

Response from Century Utility Systems Inc
This is Mike the supervisor for century as you can see by our other reviews i stand by our service and our work an estimate was set up to look at and go over this job earlier that week when we arrived the customer wouldn't take the time to talk to us and rushed us thru the house and off the property. First the price given did not include a new oil line to the boiler. The customer had called and said they needed it done asap as the tank was leaking so we squeezed it on the schedule in the middle of heating season for them any questions or concerns should have been addressed either at the time of the estimate or when setting up the job not stopping the installers every few mins. The tank did have a scratch on the protective paint from being shipped which the company provides touch up paint to us for since it does happen on occasion. The tank was brand new and did need to be wiped down since they are stored outside which we do onsite. As far as the customer goes my installers were there being held up for almost an hour before they were even able to start by the wife on a day with a lot of appointments and customers with no heat. Everyone should have all there questions answered but that should be done before agreeing to do the job. As a manager trying to make sure all customers are satisfied can be very difficult and i do speak loud, this situation was extremely frustrating because if they had taken a few minutes when we were there for the estimate all of there questions would've been answered and this unfortunate incident would not have occurred.

We called one day, they were there the next! Mike explained the procedure and it was executed according to plan within a couple of hours. Although we had worried the project would require extensive landscape removal, only one planting was taken out and replanted. At the conclusion of the work, we received a certificate of capital improvement and the certificate of abandonment required by the state if we ever sell the house. We were VERY pleased with the service and would highly recommend this company to anyone needing this work done.
Description of Work: We had a 550 gal in-ground oil tank that had to be properly abandoned after installing a 275 gal tank in our basement. We called Angie List providers of this service and selected Century Utility Systems, Inc. They pumped out all contents & vapor, filled the tank with foam, cut the fill pipe and vent pipes, and filled them both with concrete.

Had the oil tank in my basement replaced. They put down blankets and tarps to avoid damaging floors when wheeling in new tank. They saved the oil in my old tank, pumping it out to a tank in their truck, and later pumped it back into new tank. Old tank was cut up into pieces and carried out by hand. Workers were experienced and explained what they were doing. I took about 3 hours and went smoothly. I gave a B on the price only because I didn't get enough estimates to be sure that this was the absolute best price.

We just completed an oil to gas conversion, and this was the last step. We received a quote of $500 and that's what we paid. More importantly, they arrived promptly, introduced themselves, were polite and courteous, and did a fantastic job. The area where the tank had been was spotless. They cleaned everything up and then showed us exactly what they did, including cutting and sealing the pipes to the outside. They worked the entire time and were finished quickly. I would highly recommend them to anyone, and wish that everyone we need to hire would provide such great service.

When I was preparing my parents’ house for sale, I discovered there was an underground oil tank that needed to be “abandoned” (drained of any remaining oil and filled with a neutral substance) in order for the sale to go through. I had a limited time frame, and was feeling stressed since I hadn’t known the tank existed or what the abandonment process entailed. Although a friend recommended a company they had used, they were unable to do the job within my time frame. I found Century Utility Systems on Angie’s List and was impressed with the job they did. They accommodated my time frame, were professional, on time, stuck to their estimate, and their service man explained every step of the process. I would definitely recommend them to others who need this service performed.

The two men who attended to this formidable task were terrific. Junior and Adam (I think that was his name) were right on time. They set about their work in a professional and efficient manner. They had to struggle a bit to get the new tank down the stairs through a very tricky twist and turn at the top of the stairs, but they got it done with no damage to the walls. They got the oil drained and replaced in the new tank without spilling a drop. They got the old steel tank cut up, cleaned and out to their truck for safe disposal without any problems, quickly and cleanly (if that's even a word.) They were extremely personnable and knowledgeable, got it all done in less than 3 1/2 hours. Amazing, since it It took us longer than that to decide what kind of tank to get!!
Description of Work: Drained, cut up and removed old oil tank from basement, and installed new Granby Ecogard tank. They preserved the oil from the old tank and put it in the new tank - about 1/4 tank's worth!

In addition to the job description above = they emptied my old tank of oil and installed it in the new tank. They cut down the outside pipes that went into the outdoor tank. They cut the ends of the pipes of the old tank that entered into the basement and sealed off the pipes. They had to install new copper pipes from the new tank to the hot water heater and oil furnace. These were put in neatly and unobstrusively. What more can I say, they did a really great job.
Description of Work: Installed a Roth Indoor oil tank (275 gal) and closed down the outdoor underground oil tank we had previously. Everything went really smoothly. Felt extremely confident with the ability of the men who came. Extremely knowledgeable, professional, helpful with the information and suggestions provided ( ie where to place tank, where to place new outdoor lines to indoor tank). EXCELLENT JOB, EXCELLENT PRICE, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

When we called they gave us specific instructions as to how to obtain the requisite form from the state. We filled out the form, sent it to Century, and they gave us an estimate on the phone (it was a simple job, since the tank was in the basement, but aboveground). They notified us when the state approved the removal, and we set up an appointment. They came at the appointed time, and quickly got to work. They were efficient, worked quickly and neatly, and finished the job in a short period of time. They then hauled everything away, and neatened up the basement. This was an excellent experience from start to finish.
Description of Work: We have lived in our home for 32 years. It was built in 1927. When we moved in in 1980, there was an out-of-service oil tank in the basement, that we simply left there. We are now selling the house, and the Purchaser has made it a condition of sale that the tank be removed by a licensed tank removal specialist. We called Century after seeing an ad.

Frank was very professional and responsive in handling of the estimate and scheduling. He called a few days prior to work to confirm. The day of the work, the crew did not arrive in the scheduled time window and I had to call to see what was going on. When they did arrive an hour or so late, they said there had been a problem with their truck that morning and some miscommunication with the mechanic. In any event, once the work commenced everything went smoothly. The workers were professional and handled all of the various tasks associated with the job efficiently. The senior technician was very amiable and answered all of my technical questions about what was happening at each stage. Aside from the minor glitch of late arrival, a very pleasant experience at a fair price - and this after having tried twice with other contractors to get this job done.
