I am happy to give Johnson's Nursery and their staff high marks and a good review. In the past few years, Mike has met with us on a couple of occasions to provide guidance for anticipated new landscaping on our property. As an architect, I know the process of design and working with clients. As their clients, we felt they provided excellent customer service. Mike answered a lot of questions for us and was happy to work with us when we requested changes. We were confident in their expertise, liked their landscape design, and appreciated their willingness to incorporate our ideas and preferences while also advising us on the best plants for the growing conditions on our property. The leader of the landscaping crew that did the installation seemed to have a lot of knowledge and experience. He was very willing to work with us to incorporate some of our existing items as a last-minute change to the design. I valued his opinion and we are very happy with the result. We look forward to working with Johnson's in the future.

I used Johnson's in the past when I landscaped the fromt of my house, and they did a nice job then as well, which is why I used them on this job as well. The professionalism of these guys is quite high and everyone was uniformly friendly. When designing a landscape project, Johnsons uses traditional pencil and paper design techniques. These are done quite well and are good at communicating the design ideas, however don't expect to find a lot of fancy photo mockup tools or elaborate elevation sketches like you might find at other companies. (Maybe my projects were too small to warent them.) With Johnsons, there is somewhat more left to the imagination. For both of my projects the design was free. I was given an estimate and then a written contract. The projects were completed in a timely manner and no changes in the contract or the cost were required. Johnsons warrants there plants for a year after installatation. I took advantage of this on one occassion where four things that they planted did not survive. Johnsons replaced these plants with no questions asked. My one quibble with the results of the work would be that in one or two instances I was given VERY small plant specimens to start with. For example, I had a half dozen hostas planted in my landscape. The specimens I was given were the merest of seedlings(invisible to start with). Considering how easy hosta are to grow and split, and how large they can get, it is frustrating to have to wait literally years for those holes in my landscape to start filling in. I mean, I'm paying a lot for this, why can't I at least get plant that I can see?

We have had trees planted on 3 occasions. They do a fantastic job, are very professional and responsive to any issues. The trees are beautiful and doing very well, especially the maples and oaks. We are planning to have additional trees planted this year.

Purchased 2 pink flowering chestnut trees and 2 ornamental plum trees for the front yard. Had Johnson's install them so that I would get the one year warranty on their health. They came and put them in the front yard, mulched them and staked them up. Good thing it was the spring because they flowered yellow! They were the wrong color, the wrong kind of chestnut trees! I informed the owner and after seeing the flower color he replaced them with the correct trees. They did not disturb the rest of the yard during the installations and all four trees are still doing well 3 years later. Would recommend. They have reasonable prices compared to other garden centers in the area.
Description of Work: Purchased 4 specialty trees from Johnsons and had them installed.
