R & R Roofing did a fantastic job on my big roof. They did a complete tear down and replaced five skylights. The house looks great and now is water tight. R & R Roofing were professional, paid attention to detail, and were true to their master elite craftsmanship reputation. Clean up was great too - like they never were there! I would recommend them highly and would use them again on other future projects.

I will update this report as the work on our home progresses... The contract stated that the work would start and complete in July and take an estimated three to four days. The job actually started in late September and is currently progressing into its fourth week, After the first week, the tear-off had been completed, tar paper was applied to the entire roof and some shingle and ice shield was completed on the second story. The second week was hampered by rain. During this period, a number of leaks had appeared over my garage and family room. I had informed one of the roofers and was promised that that situation would be addressed. The situation was not addressed and heavy rains mid-week caused water damage to large portions of my family room ceiling. I contacted R&R and it wasn't until late the next day that they arrived to secure the tarp that was covering the family room area. The tarp did not alleviate the problems, though I was able to set up a number of buckets in the attic to control much of the incoming water. The weather had cleared during the third week. That week, one worker showed up on Wednesday to continue work on the second floor. That was the only day that week that someone had showed up to work on the house. I was informed that additional shingles were on back-order and that further work was impossible. This was very concerning as I had paid for all material up-front and had expected that all materials would have been ordered and delivered prior to the start of the job. I've contacted both the North Tonawanda building inspector and my lawyer who both feel that R&R's conduct has been improper throughout this entire job.
Description of Work: After a recommendation from a neighbor and knowing that this company and done several other roofs in the neighborhood, we contracted R&R Roofing for a full tear-off and replacement of the roof on our North Tonawanda two-story home and backyard shed, both built in 1990.

After the work was completed, the roof leaked in several places. Leaks were located along the seam where the dormer meets the roof, around the chimney, and above the front door to name a few places. The garage roof also leaked around a roof vent. R & R Roofing returned several times to tar, and re-tar where the leaks appeared. The owner of R & R, Rick Redino, told my husband "it's not usual to have to tar and re-tar leaks during the first year after a roof has been installed." In 2006 I complained to the City of Buffalo, Inspections, Licenses, and Permits department. The City of Buffalo contacted R & R and required the company to replace flashing on the roof, on all four sides of the dormer. The contract with R & R regarding flashing stated; "make repairs where necessary." In the spring of 2010 we noticed a terrible smell coming from a storage room located in the second floor flat. The smell was caused by mold and mildew. The contract with R & R stated "install new ridge vent at the peaks." There was NO ridge vent installed. This resulted in a built up of moisture in the attic crawl space and second floor storage rooms. The sheeting in the dormer on the north west side of the house is wet, soft, spongy and covered with mold and mildew. The attic crawl space is covered with mold and mildew. Nick Redino and his helper came to my home on 4/22/2010 to inspect the roof. He removed a shingle or two where the ridge vent should have been. I heard the helper say "this side isn't opened." Nick Redino was willing to open the ridge vent, repair a tongue-n-grooved board that has curled and popped up, causing a roll of shingles to lift. He also was willing to repair two shingles, he feels were damaged by others, resulting in a leak on the north west side of my home. Nick Redino refuses to take responsiblity for the mold and mildew problem, claiming new siding put on my home after the roof was installed, wasn't properly vented. An inspection of the vents along the eaves indicates the siding was installed correctly and did not cause the moisture problem. Since April 14, 2010 Nick Redino stated numerous times he would be here "within a week" to install a ridge vent." He hasn't showed up and isn't returning my phone calls. An inspector from the City of Buffalo inspections department inspected the roof and verified no ridge vent was installed. R & R Roofing is no longer in licensed in the City of Buffalo, NY.
Description of Work: Complete tear off of roof, replaced sheating where needed, installed new shingles on my home. Installed new shingles on my garage.
