AJ's Tree Service

We were looking to have 5 trees taken down in our backyard, 1 very large right next to the house. We called AJ's, Jeremy came out the same day to assess and give us a quote. After we accepted we were scheduled for the next week. Between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm all 5 trees were taken down, cleaned up, and everything taken away. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and hardworking from start to finish. I would recommend AJ's to anyone looking for tree removal!

Quick and easy to work with - very professional

Absolutely the best! They guided one of their narrow lifts through a 4-foot gate over mats they had laid down. Removed a 50-foot old pine tree 6 inches from our gazebo, branch by branch, section by section. Removed all of it. Picked up every stick. A little sawdust on the gazebo roof; the rain washed it off. The next morning you could not tell they had been there. Steve and his men are skilled professionals!

The Buffalo Forestry Bureau contracts wth this company to trim trees throught the city of Buffalo. I came home to find my dwarf apple tree which is located on the apron of my property so badly damaged and over pruned, that it is unlikely to bear fruit for the next several years. While this company may be adequate for the removal of trees I would suggest avoiding them at all cost if you have landscaping that you value and want to see thrive.

The price was a little lower than others, but in the same ballpark. But, they were able to do the work within two weeks. One of the pine trees was leaning over my fence and pool and could come down in a strong windstorm, so that was most important. They showed up when promised by 8 AM. They finished by noon. They cleaned up all debris. The workers were courteous and explained everything they were doing.

Prompt, Efficient, Professional and Friendly! I had worked with these guys before for minor stuff, but removal of this 50 ft tree was a step up for me. Jerry came over and gave me an estimate and it was several weeks before I was able to schedule the work. I called him and asked him to do the job. He told me that he'd stand by his quote and said it'd be about two weeks (It's spring), but maybe earlier. He called in about a week and said that the guys (4 man team), would be over "Tomorrow afternoon." They were. They arrived at 1:00 pm and were gone by 2:45 pm, with the site spotless! These guys were a great team and worked like a well oiled machine. The 60 fttree was down in 20 minutes and was sawed up and disposed of in jig time. It seemed that the cleanup was the hardest part! I guess I was surprised as I had received a quote from a competitor of theirs, and a big name around here, for "Four men for eight hours for $2,400.00" Gasp! A.J.s price was $1,650.00, Grin! I have no qualms recommending these guys for anything to do with trees!

I guess the price was okay. Their quality was good. It was cleaned up. He was here when he said he would be here. It was done very neatly. When they got done they did not have to remove the wood and it was stacked up neatly. I told them what I wanted done with the wood and they did exactly that.

Jeremy and his crew are exceptional. On top of a job very well done, with care taken on the lawn and to clean up, the crew is the kind of people you like being at your house. Always considerate, even for potentially sleeping babies when knocking at the door, and nice to have a conversation with. I'll always go with AJ's trees with service like this.

Jeremy and his amazing crew completed the job in just a few hours. That includes stump and root removal, They also cleaned the yard with rakes and blowers. Extremely professional service, they deserve an A+. Anyone needing tree removal would be foolish not to call them for an estimate. They beat every estimate significantly, and responded within 3 days to do the job. The crew is all family, and they worked together as a team. They worked hard and fast.

AJ's was the only one of 5 different businesses to call me back. I left a message and within 20 minutes I was called back on a busy day after a storm right before a holiday they stated they would be able to squeeze us in at the end of the day for a quote and should be able to do the work same day. Steve (if I'm remembering correctly) came around 130PM to assess the situation. He provided a price on the spot and explained how he'd break it down on the invoice so the insurance company wouldn't have any questions. He left and said he'd be back in 30 minutes with a crew. Within 30 minutes, 4 large trucks and 8 guys arrived. They had a truck with towed chipper, a truck with a towed Bobcat, a truck with a bucket on an arm and a truck with a claw arm. I was warned beforehand that there may be damage to the lawn and/or driveway from the weight of the trucks so I was prepared for this. The limb fell behind our house and the houses are very close in Snyder. The crew placed large rigid/treaded plastic sheets down on the driveway and surrounding grass to try and distribute the weight and avoid damaging the lawn. I was extremely impressed that they managed to get the truck up the driveway between the two houses and right up to the "scene of the crime." The truck did manage to damage the lawn where it drove over it and it did break and shift the driveway in some locations but it's very old concrete and pavement and I was prepared for it. The damage really was minimal and I do not hold any ill will. I knew the risk right at the moment of quotation. The 8 guys were extremely friendly, professional, hard working and SAFE. While one was operating the claw, another was cutting, two were removing debris, 1 was raking the lawn and the rest were operating the chipper. After the claw truck removed the major limb the bucket truck was brought back and they cleaned up the secondary limbs that were damaged by the main limb falling. All in all, except for some chips in the grass in less than 2 hours they were gone and you wouldn't know they were even there. My neighbors even commented on how impressed they were. The day could have been a lot worse, but the crew from AJ's was great. First phone contact was around 1030 and it was completely gone by 4. I would hire them again if I decide to do some preemptive work on the other extremely large silver maples in the yard. Especially the ones that go over the house. I was quoted on the spot $3000 to remove a 5 foot diameter silver maple including stump that branches over the house. This seems like a reasonable figure for such a large tree and I will keep it in mind.

Jeff from AJs was scheduled to come out for an estimate before I went to work. Jeff didn't make it on time but called me and offered to go to the property then call me with an estimate. Although I would like to point out what I want done, it was no big deal. Jeff promptly called back and gave me an estimate and alerted me that he left a written estimate for me in my door. I wanted a large maple tree removed from the front of the house and a very large silver maple trimmed in the back yard. The tree in the back yard has no access for large equipment and would have to involve climbing. Another company told me, "nobody climbs anymore, that's a thing of the past.". Seemed odd to me. AJ trucks pulled up to the house two days after receiving my estimate. Jeff's crew promptly blocked off the road, used some ropes on the tree, cut the base, and TIMBER!. Tree came down nice and easy. The crew began cutting up the trunk and branches. A big truck with a claw was used to pick up all the pieces and load into a dump truck. It all happened very quickly. The crew then got out the stump grinder and went to work. While this went on, Jeff and couple other guys assessed the big tree to be trimmed in the yard. Ropes were connected and Jeff was hoisted up into the tree. He used a chainsaw to trim the whole lower portion of the big maple. I was impressed watching him walk out onto the big limbs and trim the branches. I could tell these guys really knew what they were doing. It appeared they were always safety conscious while working efficiently. Branches rained down while a few guys gathered them up and dragged them to the front of the house where they were disposed. The group left no mess behind. They even raked up some of my leaves. Everything was left as they found it. All that work was completed in the time it usually takes me to mow and rake the lawn. AJs offered a very fair price and performed excellent quality work. Prompt and courteous. I would definitely use AJs again and would recommend them to friends and family. You want my opinion? Don't waste your time looking elsewhere. It's a nightmare just getting the other guys to come out for an estimate. AJs was good stuff.

We need to take a large tree down. He was very polite and nice. The estimate was a little lower than others. Iv seen that he has good ratings on Angies List so i went with him. Overall it has been a good experience.

Overall was very happy with the experience. Recommended them to my neighbors who also had good experiences with them. We did play phone tag a bit before we nailed down a date for the service. But Jeff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of which trees were healthy and which needed to come down before they caused problems later. The only negative was that this was done in the fall and the ground was wet and their equipment created some minor ruts in my yard. But it was a small price to pay to get dead trees down before they fell on my or my neighbors house during a storm. Will use them for all my future tree needs

Excellent. Very professional. AJ's performed the agreed upon work and more. All the trees and brush were removed as we discussed. In addition they trimmed the trees that we left standing. Everything was done very quickly and their price was better than other quotes that I received. All of AJ's people were very friendly. This company is very well equipped and I sure that they could handle very large trees.

They came when they were scheduled and cleaned up before they left. Their price was comparable to other providers. I recommend them.

I just joined Angie's List, or you would have seen this review sooner. These guys were phenomonal!!! They went above and beyond what we talked about them doing, and their estimate stayed the same. Jamie spent time walking the property with me, asking questions, explaining what would be done... I got other quotes from other outfits, but they came and were gone within 15 minutes, and I felt they were just going to chop and run. I'm so glad I went with AJ's, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

It went great. They came out SAME DAY! They were so helpful and they cleaned up after themselves really well. My only complaint would be the price, but other than that it was a perfect situation. I recommend!

They were exceptional. These trees are at least 80 ft high and large leads with many branches and they removed all that were hanging over and enveloping my property. I told them what I wanted and scheduled the work. They gave me a very decent estimate and came when scheduled and were done in 2 hours. They have the man power and proper eqiupment to get the job done and they did a great job cleaing up. Large bang for the buck as I know other companies would have charged almost double for the same amount of tree trimming with removal.

The job was done very efficiently and safety precautions were always taken. The debris was removed and the yard was left in very good order. Ohter planting were not disturbed. The work was done in a timely fashion and at a good price (compared with other estimates we received).

I asked for an estimate on trimming the maple tree. AJ's left me a quote forthe service of cutting down and removing the tree. I called back and left a message asking them to return to my property to quote my original request. AJ's never returned my call and they never returned to give me an estimate. Apparently, they did not want my business, so I gave it to another company. An additional thing that I thought was strange was that I was told that I didn't need to be home for the estimate (which is why I stated "AJ's left me a quote"). The company I ended up conducting business with spent an ample amount of time with me on my property answering all the questions I had about the service.

At the agreed upon time, Matthew showed up with a bucket truck, a chipping trailer and two hard working young men. Matthew an I discussed the job and he, with an expert's eye, pointed out a few things I would have never thought of, and then went on with the job. I watched in amazement as Matthew manipulated the bucket under the canopy of the tree and with a small, one-handed chain saw cut away more dead and tangled branches than I had envisioned. I was surprised at the diameter of some of them. As the debris fell to earth, it was quickly picked up and "Chippered" by the two lads. The whole job took less than 30 minutes, including cleanup. I'm extremely satisfied with the work done, the cost and the professionalism displayed. I no longer will consult Angie's List for tree service as I have AJ's number on file.

AJ's Tree Service is very professional. The gentlemen know what they're doing.

They are very reasonable. They were here a good 6 hours. They cleaned up everything and took it all with them. We had discussed with them before hand what all they were suppose to do and they did it.

They did a good job. They were on-time, efficient and polite. It couldn't have gone better. The first time I called, they left a message. They called back and told me he would call me the next day. It was a reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend them.

I called several tree service companies and AJ's was the quickest to respond and ended up giving the lowest bid. Jeff came out and was very professional and knowledgeable. The crew was actually able to come earlier than originally planned. They did a very good job -- doing exactly what they said they would do and for the quoted price. The only negative was that their equipment left two good-sized yellow spots of dead grass from the hot exhaust of their equipment. Otherwise it was a positive experience and I will be calling them again in the future.
