I got a good deal and the guy did a great job of installing it. When I was going back to their store to do my research and find out what they have, I was told it might take as long as 10 days to two weeks because not every appliance they keep in stock. But luckily they were able to do it the next day. I used the one they had already brought in for somebody else but the other party didn't need it for another couple of weeks so they were really accommodating in that. The stove, plus installation, plus warranty was around $1800. That included a 3 year warranty. I did get it at the price another store was selling the cooktop for. They were really open on matching price on any of the appliances. The store people were really helpful in trying to educate us on what the new things are. So that helped us a lot in making the right decision.
Description of Work: I bought a cooktop.

Tim at this location of Orville's was very helpful. He noted my interest in a certain color only GE makes, and priced it for me, although they don't carry GE products. They can special order, and Tim wrote out a potential order pending my final decision, and the work to remove cabinetry necessary to accommodate any new refrigerator. When I called him back to order, he honored the quoted price, which had gone up in the meantime, and placed the order. When it came in, we scheduled a convenient time/date for delivery. They are very good about calling with a two-hour window of delivery, and again a call when they are close to your location. The delivery guys came in and measured doorways throughout to determine how best to bring it into the house. After several minutes, they determined the only way was through the family room door...which was blocked by 4-5' of snow. They were very nice about it all, and just said to call and reschedule delivery when I had the path cleared (about 30' - and no snowblower!). Overnight I began to think perhaps my decision on this model wasn't such a good one, and the next morning I measured how far out the unit would stick from the wall. It was about 5-6", and that meant it was a really intrusive piece of machinery in the kitchen pathway. Sick about being so stupid as not to do the measurement off the wall (worrying only about the height, really), I decided to return to the store and inquire what, if anything, could be done to return the one unit and order a (more expensive, but better suited) cabinet depth from GE...yet another special order. This being a Sunday, they couldn't honestly give me an answer until the following day. I read their invoice, and it alluded to not accepting returns on special orders and something about 25% in a restocking fee. Still, I was going to have to live with whatever I got for some time, so was prepared for the worst. The following day, Tim called to say that they would take the original unit and put it into their floor inventory, and would not even charge the restocking fee. I was responsible only for the difference between the first unit and the cabinet depth one, and they gave me a break on that price as well. I was so shocked and thrilled, I nearly cried. They really went over and above. I realize they are in this for profit, and presume they will profit from all this, but they just made it so easy for me, when their stated policies said they didn't have to. Meanwhile, I cleared the pathway all the same to the family room door, in the event it makes things easier for the delivery guys when they return to delivery my new unit. Can't wait to get it, and sing the praises of Orville's Transit Road in the meantime.

This may be a bit long however I did add some comic relief in it to because they are a joke let’s start with their price matching policy is not followed, they claim they will beat any competitors price by at least $10.00 guess what no they don't they did match the price however that was not the policy of the store. I was okay with them just matching the price because the matching also included free delivery and installation. I purchased 4 appliances stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher they delivered the appliances and hooked up the stove, plugged the refrigerator in a started walking out the door I asked about the dishwasher installation and was informed that someone else does that so i called the store and spoke to my sales rep SCOTT which after purchase took a whole new attitude with me and said that wasn't included however in their matching policy if another competitor offers it they will match it. I called the corporate office (in the mean time I had my cousin who owns Don's repair service install it for me) and asked to speak to the corporate head. I connected to NICK, I spoke to him and he agreed that it was to be installed however it was already done and he apologized for the mix up. If I ever needed any help he told me feel free to call him (another joke) Now here is where the real fun begins My Frigidaire refrigerator had icicles hanging in the freezer so I called for service well they sent another company out to repair the problem we will call this visit one the tech said oh there is a gap in the casing I need to order silicon filler to repair it (well I'm not a repairman however that seemed a bit lame to have to order it, you would think they would carry that on their truck. Now visit number 2 he filled the so called gap and said problem solved. Guess again icicles only larger and more of them, called them back and told them the problem is worse. Visit number 3 it was the seal and to check it he used a highly technical tool to determine this a dollar bill, the dollar would move as he pulled it out so the seal is bad (by the way I have the same refrigerator in white in my garage only older before Electrolux purchased Frigidaire. Well I performed the same technical test on the one in the garage surprise same thing happened). Visit number 4 replaced the seal by this time I did some examining of the refrigerator and could feel gaps in the insulation however it isn't my job to fix it. Dave said thats it you wont have any more problems I replied see you next week and he said are you doubting my work I said no but thats not the problem. So the next day Large Icicles hanging called service again did I mention this is Frigidaire's policy so brings us to visit 5 he decides needs a new door at this point the service calls and parts are more than I payed for the Refrigerator. Brings us to visit number 6 I finally spoke up and said that if you notice there are gaps in the isolation he then replies your right lets just order you a new replacement. Ta-Da finally it is now September and I purchased in April. The new Refrigerator arrived last week guess what was waiting for me in the morning ICICLES I called Orvilles and told them enough is enough I want a different unit Rick from service agreed to exchanging to a different Refrigerator my wife and went in the Sales Rep Scott tells me he knows nothing about this and had to make a few calls well he found out I was told this and they would only give a credit less than I paid( you would think that they would at least give you your amount for the price you paid). I Called the Corporate office (716.601.0610) to speak to Nick got voicemail left a message explaining the situation and to please call me waited 4 days with no response. So called today and ask to speak with good ole Nick was told he is in a meeting same as last time so I asked his assistant to please hand deliver a note to him to call me with her attitude you would have thought I asked her to run a mile. Well received a call from Jeff stating he is calling on Rick's behalf, so I was told by him that they are not replacing it they are going to send a service tech out that it is their policy. I said that Rick and Scott said they would replace it he then said let me research it and I will call you back. The phone ring a half hour later and it's a woman don't know her name but no replacing servicing again. So a little advice Beware of Orvilles and if you decide to buy from them shop and make them price match then take that to a competitor that price matches and then take it back to Orvilles do that a couple times and you do get a good deal my 1,000 stove ended up being 536 dollars same for the refrigerator the dishwasher was 900 down to 350 and the 500 dollar microwave was 200 it pays to shop however service and professionalism is lacking big time and that is something I hold very high with a company and Orvilles lacks it big time. Get them to a price you like then go to a local competitor and purchase your appliance(s) don't give them your business sorry so long but it's not over I have to start the process all over again and Frigidaire is not very helpful either. If you are looking for appliance don't go there first sticker shock alone will get you however the one thing they do have is their matching policy however they match the price they don't beat it as they advertise my next recourse is the Attorney General for faults representation.
