Dempster Plumbing

Bought new washer/dryer?installer could not install because of corrosion of old valves. The hot water valve was leaking after the installer tried to shut off the water. Contacted Dempster Plumbing and explained issue. They had plumber out within an hour. The plumber was able to get the valve shut as a temporary measure and recommended replacing the valves and box. I was able to schedule for 9am next morning and job was done by 11:30. Very happy with service and can't wait to get the washer/dryer installed.

They replaced a piping in the kitchen. Their work is pretty smooth and clean. I think they're the best, and the price is okay.

I got quotes between 9,000 and 20,000 and everything that came through on AL came at at least 15,000.

Bill's crew showed up on time as scheduled. They were friendly, efficient, and very skilled at what they did. They determined the location of the damaged pipe, carefully dug it up around several obstacles, and replaced it with new pipe and a new clean out. They showed me what they were doing, and explained what they were doing at each stage of the work. When finished, they cleaned up and left the site as if nothing had been disturbed. I feel the price was very fair for the size of the crew, the length of time for the project, and for the tools and materials required. I will definitely use Dempster Plumbing again when needed, and I will highly recommend them.

Bill came out to install a compression valve for my dishwasher. I've kept his number all of these years because I knew I'd use only him to repipe my house when the time came. I'd recommend him to anyone, and actually have. He'd be the only plumber I'd use in this area. ***Update: Bill's team has been here repiping my house and they are fantastic. Everyone on his team is polite, professional, knows their job, and very good at explaining the next step and what is going to happen. I knew that Bill would be the only one I'd go with, but now? There is no other I'd go to, or actually go to for a reference on any other trade. I completely trust Bill and his crew. I did get an estimate from another plumber which came to the same price, but I already knew I'd go with Bill even if his price was higher. It's the honesty and integrity and knowledge of his trade that I was more interested in. I just wish he had his hand in more trades than plumbing so he can do it all for me. Valerie answers the phone and does the scheduling, she was patient with me rescheduling a couple of appointments due to my work schedule and very professional and friendly.

Overall, the project went fairly well and the crew was nice. The piping seems to have been installed well and I haven't seen any leaks. At the time, my main complaint was that they didn't check their work when they turned the water back on at the end of each day. They would turn the water on, and then leave. One evening I discovered that hot water was free-flowing into the toilet and I couldn't shut it off. Another evening I discovered that a new valve they'd installed under the sink was defective and it dripped all night - I had to put a bucket under it.Other issues that kept me from giving them an "A" rating: - The pipe to the hose bib was installed on the outside of the house instead of inside the wall where the previous pipe had been. The pipe running down the wall on the outside of the house looks crappy. - They promised to return to re-hang the bathroom medicine cabinet after the wall dried, but they did not come back. After a week, I called about re-hanging the cabinet because it's too heavy for me, but they didn't respond. - Minor sloppiness such as the tips of screws poking through the bathroom wall, a loose kitchen cabinet door, and cabinet molding that popped back off.I originally selected Dempster Plumbing because I was considering using them for the remodel of two bathrooms. However, I want the bathroom remodels to be meticulous; after my repipe experience, I won't consider them for the bathroom remodels.I learned a lot from this experience and I would only consider using them for plumbing work again if I were able to thoroughly check their work before they left.

Bill arrived when expected to provide estimate. Estimate was reasonable and in line with/towards the lower half of other estimates I received, hired Dempster plumbing because they could do the work to match my schedule. Crews showed up on time to perform work and work was finished within time frame given. They pointed out any issues they ran into (e.g., bathroom floor not quite level meant shower pan was not quite level, but still stable and able to drain well). Bill checked in on the job to see how the crews were doing and to check up on work. Crews were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. After rough plumb-in, when we found an issue with the new shower valve recirculating the water so no hot water was getting to another part of the house, they came right out to fix it. After finish plumbing was done, they told me to keep an eye out for leaks during the first couple of weeks, and came right out to fix a couple of leaks (faucet head, dishwasher hose) that occurred.

They were able to come quickly, price was reasonable and the result was very good.

They are very courteous and responsible. They are good. The overall experience was good. They were punctual, responsible, and professional. The price and quality of work were good. They came out when they said they would. I would use this provider again.

I spoke with 6 different plumbing companies before I chose Dempster Plumbing. Brian and Garth did a great job. We found Dempster on Yelp three years ago, and contracted them based on all the positive reviews. The first project was a badly clogged drain line shared by two sinks. It turns out that it had been poorly built originally, then mangled when the previous owner tried to repair it. Dempster's solution was to cut the cast iron pipe and rebuild the trap to make it easy to clean in the future. They did the work quickly and for a reasonable price. That drain, which used to require snaking every year or so, has run clear ever since. I called them again a week ago when my main sewer line clogged for the first time since we bought the house 17 years ago. It turns out the clean-out valve is in the too-small crawl space under the house, unaccessible to rooter machines. Once again, poor construction practice. Dempster extended the clean-out valve to the outside of the house, which required working in the crawl space, then quickly cleared the drain from outside.

WOW, I am really impressed! For the first time in many years I am able to fill my pool and run my dishwasher or shower at the same time. Dempster plumbing did a full copper repipe of my home and it made all the difference. There were many holes cut into the walls and all the work I witnessed in the walls of my home was really well done and professional. The holes in the walls were repaired and finished ready to paint. All in all in was an excellent job and well worth the $10,300. I only wish I had done it sooner. Thank you Bill Dempster and crew.

They were very professional. They explained the work needed and they delivered what they promised. We were very satisfied with the work they did and would definitely hire them again.

They did an excellent job, and I was very pleased with their work. They were accommodating and worked long hours to get the job done; they were very professional about it. I trusted them in my home. They were all throughout the house, and they were all nice, courteous and considerate guys. It is not often that a house is re-plumbed, so I have nothing to compare their work with, but I was completely happy with what they did and the way they did it. Their price was competitive, and the quality was excellent. I have recommended them to others. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I like them a lot. I originally chose them because they were ranked really high and I chose them secondly because they did the first job very well. They came out spur of the moment when my plumbing was leaking and spilling water all over the floor. They fixed everything. They know what they are doing. I had asked them for a hole new toilet insert and they put in just one part, I think it would work better had they done what I asked. They are very punctual.

It is a family-owned business. They tried to do a couple of things with a faucet and do some other work. Also, they created more problems than they solved. They came with a young Hispanic, who was the owner?s son. He was totally unprofessional. They didn?t have the right tools and they had a socket that had a leak in it. They had to go out to the car to get the right tools. They cleaned some things, but they didn?t realize that there was water in the sink. It kind of fell through the under the sink area. They didn?t have towels or paper towels. They ended up breaking one of the plugs of the sink. So, they tried to make it right. However, after 45 minutes, they realized it was plastic and couldn?t do much. They told me that I could replace it as it was only $3. So, I asked them as to why they had spent 45 minutes, at $100 an hour, to solve a $3 problem. They were nice, young guys. I called and left a note that I was dissatisfied with their performance. The woman they had hired to deal with the customers was wonderful. She was outstanding. She asked me as to how they could make it up to me. I told her that they had tried fix my kitchen sink, but something had happened with the refrigerator. So, I had to hire somebody else and that I wanted my money back. I told her that I had hired them to fix three problems, but they didn?t solve any. Infact, they had created four additional problems. They returned the money. Later, the owner called me and asked me if I had had any problems with his son. He explained to me that he was a very reputable guy. He didn?t seem very interested in learning what my problem was. He asked me to get the job done by someone else. I liked the fact that they returned my money, but I didn?t like the owner?s response. They had charged $110 for the job, which was returned to me. I felt that the two young plumbers, if provided with correct training, would do greatly. They were very decent. I will not use this company again in the future.

He followed up with me after the work was completed and said he found someone who could do another project for me. The leak caused damage to my ceiling, and that is who he found for me. It was great customer service to see that he went the extra mile to help me out.

Bill arrived in less than half an hour and did very professional job. He also noticed an unrelated leak in a drain line, very observant. Work was completed in less than an hour.

It was a very professional crew that was very clean and organized. It is a family business and they seemed to care about the quality of their job. I woud absolutely use them again.

It was pretty good. The day that the guy came to give the estimate we thought was a little bit high. After discussing he was able to lower his price. He came the next day and worked to complete the job. It was hailing so we were impressed with his dedication to his work

I first found Dempster Plumbing on Yelp, then confirmed good reviews here on Angies List. Bill was on time for the appt for the estimate. He gave me a thorough explanation of all my options for the job and what his recommendations were and why. Later that day he called with his estimate and followed that with an email with all the details. I asked a few more questions and scheduled the job for a few days later. On work day Bill and his gang arrived at the time he promised. He had estimated 2-3 days of work, but when he got there said he was going to try to do it all in one day. And, holy cow, he (they!) did. It was like Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. There were at least seven workers plus the electrician plus the drywall guy. Seven! It was wild, but amazing. Those guys worked together and got it knocked out in record time with skill and efficiency. By 4pm I had a new water heater, new pipes, and the drywall guy was patching up. Granted, my house is a small single story, so it wasn't the biggest job on earth but I was still impressed. They left the house and garage neat and everything in good shape. Bill obviously knows his stuff and he obviously has the resources to get a job done. I've already recommended him to others.

I called and left a message. He called back promptly and came by to give me an estimate. I was very concerned about the cost and he was easy to work with. He gave me an estimate and description of the job. I said to go for it. He went and got the needed parts and replaced the drain pipe quickly and efficiently. He was very nice and I recommend him.

I found Bill Dempster though a recommendation from a co-worker, and after reading the existing reviews on Angie's List decided to talk to him about my re-pipe needs. He was quickly able to set up and appointment, and gave me what I believe to be a reasonable quote for the work. He and his team did a wonderful job with the re-pipe, and quickly corrected the few problems that were discovered (one caused by an earlier partial repipe of the home). They kept the site clean, both by tarping all areas of the house they entered and by sweeping the garage after every day. The drywall they had to remove for their work is almost surgical, and even though they were not contracted for the drywall repair, they replaced all but one piece that was too damaged to re-use (prior water damage in the bathroom). They made sure I had water every night, and even repaired my dryer vent for me while they were under the house. They also replaced a shower valve at my request and neatly dressed the water filter lines under the kitchen sink. I highly recommend Bill and his company, and would definitely use him for any plumbing needs in the future.
