Had a emergency and called their emergency number. A tech (Corey) called within 20 mins. We ended up scheduling for the next morning. Corey showed up on time and was able to get the boiler up and running. Both the young lady who answered the emergency line and Corey were polite and a pleasure to deal with. Will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Bellknap gave me such a really good price and the warranty on the product was good as well. I was happy with the type of furnace. I think the guy who installed the furnace did a good job but he could have used a helper as they didn't allow him to have more time to do the work. The owner himself came out and sealed any of the leaks that weren't quite sealed and did a good job. It made me feels good that he's really hands on. On April, I got a call from their office, left a message and wants to have a follow up. Over the winter, I had the time to read the manual and I had some questions about it then I tried several times to contact the guy but never received a call back.

They did a good job and we have them comeback every year for maintenance check.

24 hour service with NO up charge. Requested a repair, no heat. Existing Lennox furnace was 30 years old. Our first contact with Technician Nick was an indication of the professionalism and expertise of the company. Nick showed up sharing with us, great coffee from Lewiston. He found the furnace blower seized up but also the beginning of two cracks in the heat exchanger (CO hazard). Nick showed me the cracks with a camera. The furnace break down occurred the day we were supposed to leave for vacation. Belknap accommodated us with same day service and replacement with a new furnace. Everything was explained. People were in and out all day. Scott measured. Chris issued a proposal. Dave and Corey installed. A new Ruud furnace replaced the Lennox. The installers replaced all the exhaust pipes including that for the HW heater, disassembled the unused wood burning furnace connections, did electronic hookups to the circuit breaker panel, installed a hard wire combination smoke /CO detector and a new digital thermostat. All old equipment was removed and the work area cleaned up. The new setup looks much better, smaller and shiny. All conscientious and thorough guys. We chose not to replace the air conditioner (suggested due to the old style metal drip basin) since it still works. This would have cost more than the furnace. We felt the furnace install price was very fair considering the amount of work completed and the heat emergency. Give this company a call when you need heat!

I didn’t get them off Angie’s List, I just found them on my own. It’s very good, very good. The price is average. I will be using them again. I have a service contract. I have hot air heat, so they didn't have to run any ducting. They just had to replace the unit.

They changed the filters and made sure that everything was done correctly.

This is actually for a rental property that we have here. The furnace is up on the roof, if you could believe such and thing in upstate New York. We did not realize until we bought the place and had it rented out that we were obligated to provide the homeowners association every year, proof that we had had the furnace inspected. And, there were only two companies that we were allowed to use. That's how we ended up with them. My husband got some sort of a prepaid deal. I think it was $80 or $90.

I am not sure yet whether I have to get a new unit yet or not. I have had them for years and never had any problems with them, anytime I have had problems they have come when I need them. I trust them. I recommended them to my neighbor. Communication is very good.

They work professionally. The result is quite good. I am satisfied.

The last date of service was last July. They replaced a furnace and air conditioner. Price is a tough one to grade because I didn't compare prices but I would give them an A. I would use them again.

We had plan service. I don't think it cost us anything at that point because we did pay for the plan service.

Installation went great, they were ontime, had the appropriate amount of labor to get the job done in the time window they projected. The guys were all courteous and professional and kept me informed of the progress and how the job was going. They cleaned everything up and left the work area in as good a condition as they found it. I would highly recommend Belknap to friends and neighbors.

Their tagline is "give Belknap a ring" and I think they should add "and your first born." The service tech, Howard, was nice and professional but the whole process was unnerving. First they tell you that it's $139 just for the off hours service call. Any other place I've used as had a more expensive rate that would = this amount in a few hours of work, whatever....kind of expected for an emergency call. The rest was the part that bothered me. He preempted his call with "I'll most likely have to pay a shop to open up to get any parts and that will cost you extra." OK, so it's like professional bribery/extortion? He shows up, strangely enough with the parts that were bad, in fact he brought so little in but the part was one of them. Credit to them/him, he was good...very good. Then came the (paraphrased but pretty close) "it's probably this and will cost you $685...and I'll want to replace the pilot assembly which will be $185 just because we'd typically recommend that when doing this other work, there's a lot of carbon built up though....(not telling me how much that would cost) shall I move forward?" I say "yes" and then my furnace seems to fire up normal but flames are now coming out the front too much presumably, as the tech warned, because of carbon gumming it up. He says (again, all paraphrased but pretty close); "you need this cleaned and that will be probably another $600-700 and I can't guarantee it will be OK after." We get into a little discussion about how the furnace is 16 years old and he suggests it should be replaced. I explain my concern about paying $1,100 and still not having an operable furnace in -12 degree weather. He says management might be sympathetic and refund some of that money if I setup an install. Regardless of the immediate response, knowledge and professionalism of the tech the whole process felt like an insanely expensive trap that I agreed to. Shame on me. I was recommended a tankless combo unit which they quoted me $8k. I spoke with other local, also highly rated HVAC contractors who suggested that tankless systems are not the way to go in this area. More expensive, higher failures (because of our cold winters) and most either wouldn't install or wouldn't recommend. All in all, I felt violated by Belknap, sadly. In a jam they will get out to you ASAP, but it will cost you a fortune, emergency hours or not. I can't speak to the quality of work because I still have no heat after a huge expense. You be the judge of them but I'll try my luck somewhere else next time.

On 12/09/2014 Belknap Heating and Cooling did install in my home a new high efficiency furnace, York model TM9T060B12MP11 for the sum of $3095. At that time their "Planned Service" maintenance plan was also purchased. On 12/24/2015 while changing the furnace air filter and searching for the source of what has seemed to be an inordinate amount of dust throughout the house I found that the ductwork exiting the furnace plenum was not completely connected to the boot which passes through the floor above supplying heat to the living space. Whether or not this has been contributing to the dust situation is debatable. The "planned service" allegedly includes monitoring flue draft and measuring for correct air flow. Do I know for a fact that these two service elements if performed (annual service was performed 11/2015, so why was I changing the filter I had previously dated and installed when Belknap's service supposedly includes this?) would have uncovered the disconnect problem? Do I know if any routine maintenance procedure would have? No I do not. Should I expect that duct work exiting the furnace would be inspected and necessary repairs made during the installation of the new furnace? Really! I have to ask? I have to concern myself with something so apparent? The location of the disconnected duct work is such that there is no way I could have caused it to become undone nor had there occurred any acts of God which could be pointed to yet Belknap saw fit to charge me $237.08 to repair what in my opinion was a failure on their part. Unfortunately my contract has four service calls left at which point I will begin performing my own maintenance. I believe I will have to TRY to do worse than they have. LET THE BUYER BEWARE no matter what positive reviews are read on this or any other site my experience indicates that there is a lack of professionalism which might well come back to bite the unwary or uninformed customer. Cheaper price doesn't necessarily mean good work. They're just here on time, put everything in, no mess, they're very nice people and they left. Everything works well. I am happy with them. I decided to use them because I really knew the wife of the owner of the company. I am a volunteer and she's the administration of a nursing home. I asked the engineers of the facility about them. They did such a good job. They're prompt and in a contract, they come right away. The staff was amazing from initial call to set up appointment to day of work were amazing. Consultant Dave who explained options was honest and straightforward about job.I was easily scheduled, worked quickly through financing and scheduled for consult and service. The technicians were polite and did an amazing job. no mess was left and air conditioner /thermostat are amazing. The technicians assisted me in hanging some fire alarms because I have a broken leg and cannot. Over all this company surpassed our expectations. We will use them again if needed. Please contact them they are wonderful!!!

What do you want me to say. My A/C unit expired and I contracted with them to replace it and they did a good job and backed up their warranty.

They’ve been in business for a long time and were recommended to me by a contractor. I have a maintenance contract with them. The two men that put in the furnace were very skilled and did a great job.

Before they come out physically, they ask questions and give you a ballpark. We were OK with that, then it turned out they were not licensed and did not want to split plumbing-electrical.

The furnace that was installed was the correct size for the house and we felt that the price was consistent with other systems. We previously had a York unit at our previous residence and were familiar with the unit. The work went very well, installers were very professional and installation was completed on time. We have always been pleased with Belknap and will continue to use their services in the future.
