NORM DAVIS ARCHITECT

My wife and I have been searching for properties to construct grounds up in Town of North Hempstead....but got confused after attending open houses as to what is permissible (agents gave conflicting views as to what can be construted). We then decided to consult with an architect before we buy a house as to what is permissible under local town/village rules. Basically we wanted an architect's involvement from Day 1 given we plan to live here for a very long time. We have limited budget and cannot afford million dollars listing but can buy fixer upper. So after searching on Angie's we came upon Norm Davis. He was very flexible in meeting with us early morning (since both my wie and I are professionals and could either meet early or late in the evenings). He was very patient with our anxiety and questions. He even made some suggestions that could save us money (even though it would result in lower fees for him). So far 5 stars from us. We will use him as we select the property and will keep on updating this review as our construction project goes.

We'd worked with Norm before on a bathroom renovation, so when it came time to redo the kitchen we knew we wanted to work with him again. He's endlessly patient, has a great deal of respect for old houses and architectural integrity, but knows people want their homes to be contemporary, functional, and usable. We went through about six iterations of plans before we hit upon the right layout for our family, and he painstakingly went over every one with us, pro and con, what could be better, what worked and what didn't. He really listened to what we wanted, and amended plans accordingly - but always in keeping with our home's style. He is extremely busy, and takes a long time to return calls and turn around plans - but it's worth the wait!
