Early in the morning, I noticed some construction vehicles parking on the side of my street. Then I saw that one of the workers was trying to move my portable basketball hoop at the curb of my driveway. They were there to work on a driveway for a neighbor two doors down from me but he was not able to park his truck and trailer. He never should have touched it in the first place. It is totally reasonable to expect that an experienced driver could park the truck and trailer with the amount of room there was. He also could have come to my door and asked if he could move it. He could also have simply raised the rim so that it would not hit the truck mirror. Instead he pulled on a weak piece of metal that supports the post and backboard. He ended up bending it. I told him I saw him moving it and demanded that it be replaced, which he did. A couple of minutes later, i noticed it was damaged and the worker denied doing it. I told him that I watched him from my garage, to which he could only provide an uncertain look. The crew chief came over to see what was happening. Through the conversation, he claimed to be "Vito," himself. I told Vito what had happened. He looked at it. Now admittedly, the damage was not substantial. I was annoyed that it happened. Vito made absolutely no offer to take responsibility or even make things right with me. I was not concerned about the money. When his worker denied even being responsible, I really wanted an apology and them just to acknowledge that they did the wrong thing. Vito asked me "what do you want me to do about it?" I said I'd take an apology or a check, but really, I shared with him that I just wanted him to take responsibility. He repeated insulted me under his breath in conversations to his workers (even after the situation expired, he kept staring me down and rumbling insults to his workers that I could hear). I kept reminding him that I was right there and that he could say it to me directly. Vito on a couple of occasions called me an "a**hole" and firmly demanded that I go back into my house. He even implied that a physical altercation was about to take place because both parties had become so aggravated. In no way am I writing about the quality of the work he did at the house down the street. I'm writing to share how totally unprofessional he was. The entire matter could have been settled by accepting responsibility and offering an apology. I don't want his money. It was more than evident that his workers don't know how to treat customers because they aren't trained. When the boss is calling people "a**hole," I'm not sure how they could ever receive any level of customer service training. This contracting outfit is a complete joke.
Description of Work: Vito insulted me after he damaged my basketball hoop when servicing a neighbor and refused any responsibility.

Started and finished job in one day. Owner provides lunch for workers so they do not leave job site. Gave me instructions on sealing it for lasting protection. Cleaned up job site when finished.
Description of Work: Poured side extension to driveway 7ft by 30ft. Dug out dirt, rolled, leveled with pitch, poured 4 in. heavy duty concrete with fiber mesh, putting in expansion joints. Workmen did break a 3 in. pvc drain tile with backhoe which they repaired correctly with no extra cost to me after bringing it to my attention. Workmen were pleasant.

The contractor was not responsive to what we asked for. We wanted an exact replacement of the approach and didn't get it. The porch slab was way out of square and looks terrible. The crew did not clean up its mess after the job was done. There is still concrete on the street weeks after. I've tried to clean up what I can. The contractor refuses to revisit the site and correct the mistakes.
Description of Work: The contractor removed and replaced a concrete porch slab, driveway approach, and several driveway blocks. The porch slab was several inches out of square. The approach was not an exact replacement; angles were not consistent. The street was left a mess, with mud and concrete.
