WHITE WOLF COMPUTER, LLC

Consulted with Robert on my 9 year old Acer laptop that was running very slow. He examined within 24 hours of drop off, and expressed concerns with both software and hardware, concluding attempt at repair highly questionable, with high risk of near term failure(s). I concluded money better spent on transferring data to new laptop. With guidance from Consumer Reports (December, 2018) and White Wolf, I concluded that an i7 processor, 8GB RAM, and SSD (solid state drive) was best for my use and was open to Dell, Lenovo or HP brands. I decided against a touchscreen given disadvantages of reduced battery life and increased cost of repairs. I found Dell and HPs that met my specs in the $620-650 range on sale this week at Staples, and chose and delivered to WW an HP Pavilion with 15" screen. In a few days they transferred all data, provided and installed Microsoft Office, and installed their own security program and service ($50 per year). I have purchased three laptops and this was, by far, the best experience and service. All my questions were answered by Robert and Kelsey and I have great confidence in their expertise and professionalism. I found their prices roughly comparable to competitors with the difference being WW's responsiveness and knowledgeable service which was notably superior to that I have experienced with three other local computer service providers. Total costs: $195 for assessment and transfer of all data and installation of programs; $150 for Microsoft Office and $50 for virus protection (annual cost) or ~$395. The whole process went smoother and quicker than expected-- in ~ 4 days I was back in business. Thanks Robert and Kelsey!!

It went great. Robert knew exactly how to approach the problems and explain them in layman's terms. He also told me about Dropbox and set that up so I can back up my photos.

Had to replace the old computer and they managed to get many of the old files back. Had them pick up the old computer and deliver the new one to the house and that made things a lot easier for us.

I emailed Rob on a Friday night, never thinking he would get back to me until Monday. First thing Saturday morning, Rob called and we discussed my problem. I brought in my desk top, lap top, and printer on Monday. Zhen worked on them and I had everything completed by 3:00 that day. Although everything worked fine at the shop (Zhen went over everything to make sure everything worked before I left the shop) when I got home I had a problem with the printer connecting to my network and could not print from my lap top. I called Rob and he called me back immediately. First thing next morning, Bill called and remotely fixed the problem from their shop. I cannot recommend White Wolf enough. This business in totally professional. The shop is clean and Kathy who works at the front desk is friendly and professional. They log in every piece of equipment that you bring in, including cables and cords. Their price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend White Wolf for any computer work that you need done. I know I will certainly use them from now on.

My desktop pc would no longer enter "sleep mode". I leave my pc on at night and I schedule to enter "sleep" mode so as to properly power down and save electricity. It stopped working one day. I am somewhat computer savvy and did a lot of research on what could be the issue and tried many different suggestions. Nothing seemed to work and I knew this was a difficult issue. I brought it into White Wolf based on the "glowing" reviews from Angies List. I was not disappointed. The owner, Rob, and technician, Jason, were fantastic to work with. Rob and I chatted though email on and off about the item. Jason tried numerous things to diagnose, thanks to his persistence, he found the issue and solved it. Rob charged my for about two hours worth of work for 80 dollars. That is an extremely reasonable bill rate for a complex issue to be solved. Their work is guaranteed for thirty days, they sent me support links to review in case the "sleep" issue ever happens again, so I can attempt to resolve myself. I have been looking for a highly skilled and a reasonable priced computer repair shop and I found one! Rob even went as far to offer picking up my pc (we both live in Clifton Park), and taking it to the shop personally should I ever have an issue and need their services again. Outstanding guys. It went well. The provider began analyzing my laptop almost immediately. By the next morning, they called with the results of their investigation and the cost of repairing it. It wasn't long after that I received a call to say my laptop was ready to be picked up. I was very pleased with the service and how quickly they turned this repair around.

He never did track down the issue, and in the end got the computer running with just one of the two video cards that were originally in the machine. I don't think that he is familiar with gaming computers. Perhaps if you have a simple problem like installing a new operating system WW computing will be fine, but I do not think the technicians are up to complex problems.

Like many people who depend on computers, I know very little about their operation. Robert and Jason could have told me the video card was bad and charged me a lot more and I wouldn't have been the wiser. Instead they did an honest appraisal of the situation and did only what was necessary to get me back in business. I am very happy with the service at White Wolf Computers and recommend them highly.

The gentleman responded and was in my house in two days. He worked on my computer - which was all messed up. He was clean and very courteous. I was pleased with how he fixed my computer. His price was very reasonable. I would use him again if I needed help with my computer,

I agreed to pursue retrieval of information and purchase of the external hard drive. It was offered that I could purchase my own hard drive, but I purchased via White Wolf to make the process go faster (and the price was just as good, if not better than anything I would have found on my own.) After 1-2 weeks (I was out of town at the time the job was completed - they were very fast!) I picked up the external hard drive. They offered to recycle my computer tower at no charge. I would absolutely use this company again. I am definitely NOT tech savvy and they made it so easy for me! They were extremely professional, courteous and helpful!

First, company has relocated to Delmar, NY, no longer at Central Av., Albany. Staff were very clear on what would be done and how long it would take. Repairs were completed in a timely fashion and the work that was done was explained in detail. The cost of the repairs matched the estimate. A couple of days later I had some questions pertaining to restoring software and data which were answered on the phone.

He recommended a Dell, since that's what he uses, and searched the internet for me to find if anyone sells the Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket. He found it, purchased it for me, installed it and boom! it was there. He also answered many questions for us, worked tirelessly, until late, and we were satisfied. We can now transfer as many photos that we want, to a flash drive, and view them as a slideshow. Never thought I would like a slideshow. His services are not cheap, but you know the old saying: you get what you pay for. Plus we had him come to out house, and do all the work. He installed the new computer, took the old one away, plus the old printer. Now I don't have to wait in line, once a year to drop off the old computer and printer to Taft Furniture parking lot. I value service, and am willing to pay for it, as long as it is exactly what I want. My wife is also happy, because she can now access her e-mails from her smart phone. She could not do that before. He has answered many questions that neither AT&T, nor their technical people HTC, nor Time Warner can answer. It was frustrating to stay on the phone for hours with these people, and they did not know what they were doing. But Robert does.

As I was in the middle of transferring some important videos to an external hard drive, my laptop harddrive crashed. They were able to recover my files, pictures and videos, transferring the requested info to the external hard drive and installed a new hard drive in my laptop. The were very patient with me since i am "technically challenged"....they even called me after i brought my laptop home to make sure i was happy with everything and to see if i had any questions.

We have been regulars there for a while now. The people they have are great and very helpful. If they can help you over the phone, they will. I would highly recommend them.

He was very professional, prompt and courteous. He happened to be going by my area and picked up my computer. He spent extra time going over everything and answering all my questions.

They did get back to me quickly and they did fix my computer. They were very good.

I had to send my Toshiba laptop back to Toshiba for repairs, and they recommended that I have the files backed up beforehand. I took the laptop to White Wolf on Central Avenue, and gave them a thumb drive to store my files on. When they were ready, we picked up the computer and the thumb drive. After the computer was repaired by Toshiba, the files went back onto it easily. The people were friendly, smart, and professional. The store was a little hard to locate, because you have to enter a health food store, then go to a door towards the back that opened into a hallway where White Wolf's office was located. There's also a gymnasium back there, farther back. It's a little odd, but the service was good and the people were nice. I'd use them again!

There wasn't any fee. They were nice but they didn't really do anything that I couldn't do myself. They did it remotely. They were okay. I don't know if I would use them again or recommend them because they didn't actually do anything.
