Rob and Chris were wonderful. When the arrived on the job site, the general contractor had instructed people to cut wires to continue working on framing. Rob had to completely retrace the wiring before he could begin the work for the addition and new kitchen. He was always patient and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He was very knowledgable. Our general contractor did not coordinate the work well and had estimated things well under the actual cost, which was not the fault of Labbie Electrical Contractors. In addition, when our general contractor made mistakes in billing that they didn't recognize, Rob intervened on our behalf (he had to explain to them where they had double-billed us for an electrical service). While I would not hire that general contractor again, we will definitely call upon Rob at Labbie for any future electrical work.
Description of Work: Rob and his employee, Chris, were invaluable in the process of putting a two-story addition on our home and completely renovating the kitchen. They did all of the rough-in and finish electrical work.

It went fairly well. On Nov 6, 2012, I paid $6500 deposit. He ordered generator. Did not hear from him for weeks. I called several times and we finally settled on Dec 20,as an installation date. They did a good job but were unable to hook up the 3 AC units at that time. Rob said he would return in a few weeks (weather permitting) to finish the job. I paid him an additional $4000. He did deduct $2000 until the installation was complete. When we were discussing the installation, Rob said the generator would sit on a crushed stone dust type base. He placed it on a wooden (pressure treated base). Is this a good thing for Albany winters? I thought it was temporary but we have never been able to discuss it as he has never answered my calls. Rob is a nice man and did a good but incomplete job. He may want to get an assistant to help with his calls. He should keep clients informed when he takes deposits and orders appliances as to delivery times.
Description of Work: Rob installed a generator for our house. It was a big job and the installation went well. At that time, he said he would return to connect the AC units. I have called him several times and he does not return my calls. Prior to installation, we discussed that the unit would be mounted on a stone base. He used a pressure treated wooden base and I thought this was temporary. I have never been able to discuss it with him. I feel that after the price I have paid him, he should at least answer my calls. He is a nice man but might need an assistant.

They come several times for some electrical works. He is not the cheapest, but he is reasonable. There is one thing about him is that he returns the calls. The work he does is very precise and high quality. He gives suggestions, like we desired for outdoor lighting that we could easily turn on and off. He advised timers and the wiring to go into it. He suggested how it works during day and night and depends on seasons, which was completely automatic. I had issues with bundles of wires here and there and he took care f them all. He is honest and when I referred him to a friend she liked him too.
Description of Work: I used the services of Labbie Electrical Contractors to have 2 lights done.

The work was completed on time, as promised and at the negotiated cost. I can't remember exactly how much I spent (I had a bunch of work done around that time but I remember it being very reasonable). Work was done professionally. Rob and his crew made sure that I was happy with the work and were extra careful to clean up after themselves. Job well done. Would hire them again.
Description of Work: I hired Labbie to install a Generac generator and fix a deteriorating service line. Our house lost power for three days after Irene and from talking with the neighbors it seems that we lose power often. Work included installation of an automatic transfer switch, installing a new meter box and installing new supply cable from the overhead line to the meter.

Nicely done with an outdoor plug installed that the generator plugs into with a reinforced cable. The transfer switch allows for the selection of circuits one wants powered during a blackout. This is necessary if the generator is of smaller wattage and is unable to power the entire home circuitry.
Description of Work: Installation of a generator transfer switch to home circuit box in order to operate circuits off of a generator during emergency blackouts.

The job went perfectly from start to finish. We used them several years ago, so the details aren't fresh.
Description of Work: We used Labbie years ago to correct a problem involving a connection from the street to the house. Their estimate was half of other contractors and we were very satisfied with their work. Actually, the representative from Niagara Mohawk recommended them although he said that technically he wasn't supposed to recommend a contractor. I would definitely use them again.

Excellently done...very satisfied.
Description of Work: The electical service on our central air conditioning unit shorted out over the holiday weekend leaving us without a/c. Although he was perfectly willing to come out on July 4th to repair it, we waited until the morning of July 5th. Rob arrived 30 minutes sooner than anticipated and promptly explained the nature of the failure and then the recommened repair. He replaced and re-wired the junction box and circuit breaker. His work was efficient, clean, and reasonably priced. We have used his services before in re-wireing our family room re-hab, installing ceiling fans, replacing our complete electical service, and odd electical jobs.
