We didn't select NSE ourselves. We placed an order for a new hot water heater with Home Depot on 11/23/2012 and NSE was either assigned or was given our order to fulfill. The estimator from NSE (Joe Tantillo) arrived at 9:00 PM even though Home Depot told us the window was between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. His explanation was that he just finished a job and hit traffic. OK I understand that there were a lot of other people impacted by Sandy but why couldn't he have called us to let us know? He looked at our current setup and gave us an estimate of $1000 for the new hot water heater with installation. A few days later, National Grid came to inspect our boiler. They said it was dangerous to operate the boiler since the burner assembly was under water during the flooding. National Grid shut the gas supply to the boiler. We contacted NSE and told them we also needed a new boiler. We had to call NSE twice to get a written estimate for the insurance company. Home Depot called us on 11/26 for a deposit on the boiler and hot water heater which ended up costing a total of $7,953. We asked for an installation date. We were told by NSE that the boiler would arrive around 12/4/2012 and a boiler would be reserved for us and to call that week to schedule the installation. When we called NSE (three times on 12/3), we learned our boiler wasn't in stock. Either it didn't come in or it was given to another installer. The bottom line was delivery and installation of the boiler and hot water heater was now pushed back to 12/14. On 12/12 Home Depot called to say that the 12/14 date was now 12/15. It has been an extremely frustrating experience. We didn't know whether to call Home Depot or NSE about delivery and installation information. I don't think we will use a big box store again for installation without nailing down whom to call.
Description of Work: We placed an order for a new hot water heater with Home Depot on 11/23/2012 and later added a boiler to the order. The installation was postponed twice. I don't know whether the delays were due to the local Home Depot store or NSE. I had a lot of trouble trying to contact somebody to get information. It was only after I called Home Depot Customer Care in Atlanta that my phone calls were returned. When they arrived on 12/15, the NSE people were professional and efficient. The installation went quickly and smoothly ... a lot better than the frustrating trials Home Depot and NSE put us through when we tried to get a confirmed installation date.

Description of Work: This company was provided for me through Home Depot Install service for a replacement sink and faucet purchased there. In the past, I had a water heater purchase and isntall this way and all worked out well for a reasonable price. This time with this install it took 5 days to get in touch and constant phone tag with a recptioncist who was totally unprofessional. Not once did I get to speak to a real installer. Most importantly the rate for the job about $300 contracted through Home Depot was suddenly changed. The installer never came to see or provide job estimate, and stated over the phone the jobe would be at least $150 to $ 300 more then agreed by the Home Depot rate. Now this is just an over the counter sink install replacing a same size white cast iron sink with stanless steel. All parts ready for install. Furthermore these people do not seem even listed as installers/plumbers when searched on here, they are listed for gifts??? I did complain to Home Depot and will make more complaints against these scammers. Do yourself a favor stay away from these people. By the way called an A lister on here for plumb install service of same sink faucet,,,, over ohone price of $300. So Home Depot rate was right.
