All Star Chimney

I am writing this review to possibly save others from being scammed. I had this company send out an installer named Alex. He informed me to notify my insurance company and to contact him back personally. He gave me his phone number. The insurance came several days later and requested an estimate. I then reached out to Alex via text. We ended up on the phone and I asked for a written estimate and he tried to charge me $2500 just for a paper to say what it was going to cost to give my insurance company. I argued and tried to get the rationale behind the cost, his statement was firm, "because people get estimates and go with other companies." I chose to not hand over $2500 for a piece of paper. However, I did offer $500 and he refused and said no, it's $2500, I continued to refuse. Several days later I decided to call the office of his employer and asked for a written estimate prior to me telling them what he told me, they stated we charge XYZ which was way less than what he wanted, even less then the $500 I offered (not disclosing, prices might vary). I did go into detail of their installer and I conversation and what he wanted to charge me. The employer was not happy and said she will call him and call me back. Still have yet to receive a phone call regarding the situation. Please beware of Alex, do not hand him cash/venmo/cashapp/applepay (you get it) nor exchange numbers like the mistake I made. Please keep all financial transactions with the office.

They came out to perform services the first time and only cleaned the furnace flue. We decided to give them a chance to complete the sweep of our fireplace flue. The two technicians arrived two hours past the time frame that had been agreed upon. The completed the work quickly, but when I started a fire two days later, the house filled with smoke, damaging walls and furnishings, and compromising health conditions in my home. On inspecting the flue, I found that it was packed with leaves and sticks. I called the company, and they apologized and said they would send someone other than the first technician to complete the job that day. That person did not show up. I called back to give them yet another chance to complete the work, and they fid not show up for that appointment. I have received a refund,not directly from the company but through a third party, but I would not recommend this company. THE WORST! See the attached picture of my chimney after cleaning.

They were here March the 31st of 2016. He's suppose to know your suppose to turn the heat back on. I didn't check anyone else to compare prices. I guess the service was okay as far as I can see up the chimney. I knew something needed to be done for the chimney. They came on time. Their professionalism was okay.
