Steven and his crew are overall excellent to work with. His carpenters, painters, and electrician did terrific work and he prices his jobs fairly and very competitively. They came in on a gut renovation for all of the finish work and did a beautiful job. The house is gorgeous. Steven is a smart, creative and lovely human being who treats his clients (or this client at least!) as the most valued person in the world. He goes out of his way to help you come up with solutions or just help you get stuff done, even if it’s outside the scope of work. He’s far more of a full-fledged and fully invested partner than a hired gun. My only complaint about HomeWork, Inc. is timeliness. One often has to follow up and stay on them to make sure the project keeps moving, and even then there are too many delays. However, that flaw is overwhelmed by the many pluses of working with Steven and his team, which is why I still gave HomeWork five stars. I would hire them again in a minute – perhaps with some built-in deadline carrots and sticks – and in fact am already working with Steven on a new major project. You can’t beat the personalized, thoughtful and quality service you will get from HomeWork.

This was our first remodeling project in our home. Steven was such a pleasure to work with. He was great during the estimate process, communicating and got the project started as quickly as possible. Juan and his workers were fantastic. They were quiet, hard working and great at what they do! I couldn’t be happier with my bathroom.

We had quite the vision for our project and Steven was always there to say yes and help us tackle our dream. There was nothing too big or small for his team, moving a staircase, adding a bathroom, adding a 14 foot deck, building a custom entry way, etc- and even though our timeline kept growing, he made sure we finished every step, and stuck with us through the end of our project. When it comes to his clients, Steven truly values the relationship, and his team of skilled workers gets the job done.

I have used HomeWork for several different projects in the last two years including a full bathroom restoration, a pergola restoration, a custom stair banister and a custom fireplace surround. The owner Steve Kaplan is very professional, always friendly and reasonable. He staffs each project with a team of highly skilled professionals with the right skillset for the specific project and his prices are competitive when compared to others. I highly recommend Steve and his team.

HE WAS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE, DID MANY NO-SHOWS, HE WANTED US TO WRITE CHECKS TO OTHER SUB CONTRACTORS, AND WE ENDED UP PAYING HIM FOR WINDOWS THAT HE NEVER DID INSTALL. THE WORK THAT HE DID COMPLETE WAS JUST HORRENDOUS. A JOB THAT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ONE MONTH WAS DRAWN OUT OVER THREE MONTHS WHEN WE FINALLY HAD TO FIRE HIM. HE DOES HAVE A LOVELY PERSONALITY THOUGH.
