After calling a few Mold Testing firms, I called Mark again to see if his testing was different from others as his was the highest. He explains that he tries to do the best job and said there's a mark-up for labor...and then without going further, hung up the phone...very unprofessional. This is why I am leery of sole proprietors and esp. home-based businesses; lack of accountability. He has only one phone line without call waiting so you'll get a busy signal if he's on the phone. Also, I wasn't fooled by Mark's, "I'll be in your area tomorrow." Uh huh. His house is 2 miles from mine so he's always in my area. It's an old salesman tactic to get an appointment. Go with a reputable company that has a real office space and office staff, like Hygenix based in Stamford, CT that charges $300/report, $65/mold sample and $85/air sample.
