Inspection of the problem was thorough. Possible solutions were clearly explained. Repair of just the affected 4-foot section was recommended as the most efficient and cost-effective option on a 20-year old roof.. (I had received another quote from someone who wanted to replace the full forty-foot ridge for over a thousand)

It took a few tries but he was successful in finding and repairing the leak. Dave is very friendly and assured us that he would be able to find and fix the leak. Would definitely use this company again.

Jason came to do estimate quickly after the initial call. He sent a written estimate within two weeks as promised and said we would be called when crew was available to start. Roofers came, presented a professional demeanor and did high quality work. I was impressed that they tore off old roofing instead of just nailing shingles over the old. They cleaned up their mess and were out in 3 - 4 days. We were very happy with results.

I called at the end of September for a gutter cleaning and repair job, thinking a great roofing company would be gentle with my old house. They came out two weeks later to look and said the gutters were too old for them to repair. OK, so we were set up for them to be cleaned. Called them in November I think, and was called back the next day with a message about being on a list of cleaning jobs, being busy/other jobs/winter weather. Nothing in December, no answering service on the phone after hours in Ithaca. By the second week of January, I called to cancel the work order after not receiving a call back from the Cortland office for a few days. Thankfully, I was given a recommended, insured handy man reference instead. Emailed him, checked out the job the next day, gutters cleaned the day after that. Not sure what happened since I used JD Ferro four years ago for a small job and they were responsive and great, even in the middle of winter. I can not recommend them anymore.

Excellent. After calling two other roofing service providers (neither of whom were responsive or kept their appointments), I called JD Ferro. Dave Spaulding called me back that day, then came the day before Christmas (as promised) to examine where our leaks were coming from. He found them, sealed them, and explained in detail how they came to be (without sounding the least bit condescending, as some contractors can). We discussed the bigger/more sure fix of replacing part of the rood in the spring. He was professional, helpful, and didn't try to upsell us on something we didn't really need.

They did a good job, I had no issues with them.

They did a good job. There is always something that you have to follow up on. But I still call them for other issues that have to do with the roof they didn't replace

We called because we had a leak around the septic system vent pipe. Mr. Ferro caulked around the vent pipe. We were not charged for the service provided. We were only asked that we consider the company when we needed a new roof. Can't get any better than that!

The leaks were fixed and we were happy with the work. However, the company was not very responsive to repeated request to get the work done.

Jason was very prompt and came out quickly but the quote was a little costly.

Showed up on time and provided an estimate that was in the ball park but I chose another contractor. I would comsider this company for another job in the future.

Their roofing crews spent five days tearing off the old roof and replacing it with plywood, roofing paper, water barriers and shingles. They added roof vents and flashing around the chimney and vent pipes. Their window crew spent 2 days replacing old windows with high grade replacement windows with argon insulation. The gutter crew installed the seamless gutters upon completion of the roof. Each day they cleaned the yard before they left. They did an outstanding job.

It went well. I had confidence that this contractor could do a quality job, but it was more than I could afford.

We had a botched roof fan vent job done last spring by an amateur builder - and this Fall/Winter it began to leak. Jason came to check it out in the late fall and he did a quick fix and said to call him in the spring to have it repaired. It didn't leak once all winter long so his quick-fix really worked well. I called to have the repair done this spring. A crew came by and put the roof vent on properly, the way it should have been done the first time around. Excellent work.

Work done as expected. no reason to complain about any aspect.

They were prompt, courteous, honest, and reasonably priced.

It went very well, I had to wait a few days for service. I called them on Friday and they showed up Tuesday morning. Did a temporary fix and two days later replaced the leaking boot over the vent pipe with a new one. The manager told me it would be about $100.00. As of now, I have not received a bill All and all they did a great job!

We noticed a patch of damaged asphalt shingles on our roof after a wind storm. We asked around for a contractor to do the repair quickly before the first snow of the season and their name was mentioned. Within a couple days of calling, they repaired the shingles while we were at work and billed us a trivial amount for materials and one hour of labor (~$80). I can't attest to the quality, as there is no way I'm getting up on the roof, but it looks flawless from the ground and the workers didn't leave a mark. They will be the first ones we call with any other roofing issues.

I have signed a contract with them and they will be here sometime within the next month. I had to wait a month because I had to figure out how I was going to pay them. This was the third quote because we changed the specifications. I don't know that much about roofing and I have always lived with shingles. This is a flat roof. He explained what each layer of the roofing would be and what its quality was and why he had to use it. That made it easier to compare quotes with other people. He was very straightforward and professional. He got there on time. I was pleased with the contacts I had with him. He brought 2 quotes at once when he brought the first quote. While I was making sure I had money to pay for it, I began to realize that I didn't need as fancy a roof that he was talking about. I called him back and he mailed right away a new estimate after he talked to me about what was an excellent roof for 12 to 15 years and involved long term protection. That is exactly what I had wanted. I was very pleased with the way he approached things. He did answer promptly when I called back. Their price is higher than anyone else's. I chose them because I had been told that nobody ever complains to them as they are the most professional roofers in town. When it suddenly dawned on me that I don't need a Cadillac of a roof but I do need a Cadillac of the roofers, that's where I decided to go. I have been told that they will do a good job and I won't be bothered with them again. If I decide to sell the house in 5 years, chances are that somebody is going to tear the whole house down. I didn't see the point in putting the very best roofing if it is going to be torn off in 5 years.

We had a small dormer leak that was hard to track down. First, JD Ferro offered to try the cheaper option of using sealant higher up on the dormer (bare wood was showing). When that didn't fully fix things, re-shingling a slightly larger area did seem to fix the leak. Might have been nice to have a followup phone call from them as I didn't talk with the actual workers, but the area was well done, and they did a good job of cleaning up the job site.

They took a while to book, so book in advance! Though, once on the calendar, the came in early October and got everything finished in just a few days. We were very impressed by the speed and cleanliness. They cleaned up after every job and did not leave a large dumpster in our yard. Instead, the parked their dump truck on the road side and hauled scrap materials to it via a wheel burrow. They were also careful not to spill materials into the flowerbeds/bushes. The guys were very nice to work with and were very courteous. Again, we were so impressed with how quickly they got the job done.

He is excellent. He is very reliable, professional, and honest. I would highly recommend him to others.
