Description of Work: Was hired to do sheet rock, finish and prime. Install door, siding, window and trim out.

Description of Work: Hammer and Nails performed several jobs. We initially hired them to replace the roof on our garage (former carriage house). The quote for a steel roof was very competitive and Stephen Joseph was knowledgeable and friendly. While waiting for the steel to arrive, we discovered there was a serious structural problem with our kitchen porch (i.e., the roof had been leaking and a support beam was compromised and in danger of collapsing), and Mr. Joseph agreed to replace that beam and strengthen and repair the entire porch roof. His crew arrived early the next week and 4 days later, had solved those problems. The following week, they returned and put on the new garage roof. This proved to be more challenging that had been anticipated because the original roof was rather swaybacked, so it was necessary to level it with purlin strips. The extra work was well worth it as we now have a beautiful, straight new roof on the building. With that job complete, they returned to the kitchen porch and replaced the flashing and re-roofed with a rubber roof. A porch whose roof had been improperly designed and built with lightweight materials is now solid and no longer leaks. |All of the work was performed in a professional manner. Mr. Joseph responded to all of my phone calls the same day, and he was willing to come to the house in the evening to consult with me on the plans. When we discovered the porch problem, he responded immediately to get it corrected. His workmen were friendly and helpful. They knew what they were doing and were efficient at their jobs. They used good quality materials and they cleaned up daily. I believe the price charged was reasonable for the work done and the materials used. I was very impressed with the whole operation, and I plan to hire Mr. Joseph and Hammer and Nails for future work on my home.
