SPAR CLEAN LTD

This service has gone from bad to horrible.. I came home to find them standing on my good chairs to clean when I have two step ladders. They broke my blinds, a vase and my Jacuzzi. Spar Clean has yet to come back to fix my blinds (it's over a month). You get billed by the hour and yet the girls spend half the time on their cell phones. They keep sending different girls every week who don't have a clue what to do. I called the family who recommended them and I was told that they fired them over a year ago they couldn't put up them any more. Needless to say, after many years they are no longer allowed in my home. If you do use them make sure you lock up your jewelry.

They do a good job. They come once a month to clean my place. They work hard. They are Hispanic, so sometimes it is hard for me to communicate with them.

With a few exceptions that I describe below, I have been very happy with the service and would recommend. Details: A lady came out to do an initial assessment and I was told that the fee was $25 per person, per half hour. My 4-bedroom/3-bath house (approx. 2800 sq ft) was assessed at 2.5 hours (2 people) which came to $125 for biweekly service. I was told one week of my biweekly service schedule would be a and quot;deep cleanand quot; and the next service would be a normal clean but to be honest, I don't notice a difference between the two types. I was told that windows were not included but sometimes the windows are wiped with Windex and other times not so I'm not sure if that's included or not. Positives: The dispatcher Sue is responsive by phone and email. Change requests or cancellations are honored. The cleaning crews are respectful and careful not to break anything. There has only been 1 instance in a year of biweekly cleanings of anything being broken, and that was just an accidental dropping of a (luckily) cheap frame; the glass cracked and the crew promptly informed me an apologized. The crews are quick, generally thorough (again, with a few exceptions), and pleasant. Negatives: The arrival time of the crew for my regularly-scheduled biweekly cleaning varies: Sometimes the crew arrives more than 30 minutes early, sometimes more than 30 minutes late, so it is hard to judge when they will be there. That being said, the team is more often late arriving (sometimes more than 30 minutes late, with no phone call to advise of the late arrival, which has happened at least 3 times in the last 3 months). However, no matter when they arrive, they always finish at and often before the designated 2.5 hour time for which I am charged. The first few months of my service, the service was really impeccable and I recognized that quality by giving the team that usually serviced my house with an end-year bonus equal to a little more than the cost of one day's service. However, since then, I have noticed the quality of the wok starting to slip. Small things at first, like a few times, the kitchen sink was just wiped and not actually cleaned, and then I noticed my family room area rug--one of the few rugs we have in our mostly wood floor house--wasn't vacuumed (which is quite noticeable, since I have two toddlers that can make quite a mess of the rug with crumbs, etc.). Then I noticed the white enamel stovetop also wasn't being cleaned (2 weeks in a row) and the last thing that really got to me was, after the team left (after arriving 30 minutes late and leaving 20 minutes early, which included sitting in my foyer for 20 minutes while they waited for their car to return to pick them up), I had to go back and clean my kitchen sink and stovetop, and vacuum my family room myself because none of that was done. After that service, I asked to change the day of my service in the hope that I would get a different team that would do a better job (and also because the varying arrival time was interfering with work meetings I take from home). So far, that seems to have worked, but if I start again to notice things not being cleaned, I am going to alert the dispatcher, to give them a chance to resolve the issue, as I am generally pleased with the overall quality. I realize no one is perfect and things can get overlooked at times, especially if they are doing several houses in one day. But if I am paying for 2.5 hours, then I should generally be getting 2.5 hours of consistent quality work (whether that's actual time or at least, everything that should be cleaned in those 2.5 hours is actually cleaned by the time they leave). I think the cost of the service is fair and I don't mind paying what I am charged as long as I am happy with the results. Overall, the dispatcher is very responsive and the teams are very nice and work hard. I'm sure that if I have problems going forward, that they will be responsive. I have had one other cleaning service that I was not happy with so SparClean is definitely a step up.

They were very thorough, efficient and friendly. I will use them again.

A problem arose with the venetian blinds. One of the crew said it would be easier to clean them if they were removed. So I removed the blinds from three bedrooms and two of the crew cleaned them in the driveway. That evening, when we put the blinds back in the master bedroom we noticed that both sets were damaged. The slats were badly bent on one set and half of the slats did not move in unison with other slats on the other set. We also noticed that the fan in the master bedroom was only cleaned on one side and the tile in the master bath had not been cleaned near the cleiling. We remounted the blinds in the other bedrooms and found other damage, but none as bad as that in the master bedroom. I called Spar cleaning the next day and left a message about the damage to the blinds. We played phone tag for a few days. I finally left a message that I would replace the blinds and send them a bill if I did not hear from them. A week later, I finally spoke to a person. She sent the same person who had come to give the estimate to inspect the damage. This lady (Anna) was now completely rude and antagonistic. She insisted that the blinds were old and that we said that we were going to replace them anyway. (We had had no such conversation). She also said that it was my idea that the blinds be removed and cleaned in the driveway, that they should have been cleaned in place. She claimed that we were trying to take advantage of her. We asked her to leave. We told her that we would write a scathing review for Spar Cleaning on Angie's List. She said and quot;Go Ahead!and quot; I immediately called the office to complain about Anna. Only then did I find out that Anna was the owner of Spar Cleaner. I would not recommend Spar Cleaner to anyone. Anna's attitude is completely unprofessional. HIRE SPAR CLEAN AT YOUR OWN PERIL. IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THEIR SERVICE, AS I DID, YOU MAY BE ACCUSED OF EXTORTION, AS THE OWNER DOES IN HER RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT AND ASKING OTHER VENDORS TO BOYCOTT YOUR BUSINESS, BOTH OF WHICH ARE ILLEGAL. THE OWNER OF SPAR CLEAN IS AN UNSCRUPULOUS PREVARICATOR. I WOULD AVOID SPAR CLEAN LIKE AN STD. WE PAID SPAR CLEAN EXACTLY WHAT THEY ASKED FOR, FOR THEIR SERVICES. AFTERWARDS, WE ASKED FOR SOME CONSIDERATION FOR REPLACING THE BLINDS, WHICH WE ULTIMATELY HAD TO DO. OTHER VENDORS WE HAVE DEALT WITH HAVE OFFERED CONSIDERATION WHEN WE HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS ABOUT SERVICES. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED IN SUCH A RUDE MANNER. AS TO THE MATTER OF $20. WE TIPPED EACH OF THE THREE WORKERS $20 FOR THEIR EFFORTS. ANNA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF!!!!! MOREOVER, IF A BUSINESS PERSON ASKS YOU TO PAY CASH TO AVOID PAYING TAX, THAT’S ILLEGAL. REPORT THEM TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE.

Disastrous! Two, sometimes three people came. Usually One spoke English. Each time they came to clean it was a different crew. Basically they dusted and vacuumed. They neglected more than they touched. The last time was the worst. So bad that I took pictures of the neglected areas and sent them to the General Manager. In an email, she agreed that the job was not acceptable, but sent me a bill for it anyway. I have a 3 bedroom split level house. Two bathrooms,kitchen, dinning room, living room, office, and media room. Each crew was in and out in TWO hours. This house cannot be cleaned in two hours by two people who have NEVER been here before.

I have used them several times; I have used them about 4 times already. They payment is based on the number of hours and the number of people that come in. They did a good job, they listened and came when they said they were going to.

Quick, good and open to my direction on certain things I like done in a specific way. I have already had them back and have them scheduled again for next week. I will continue to use them as long as they continue to do good work! Sue who does he scheduling is also great and helpful in trying to work around my schedule.

They always show up on time and do a very good job. They have been cleaning our house for several years now. We are very happy with them.

My initial call for an estimate was handled promptly and professionally. They have their own cars and literature. I have used them three times. Every time, they call the day before to confirm the appointment. They are always on time, professional, and detail oriented. I have been very pleased with their services.

They were polite and did what I asked them to do, the way I asked them to do it - did a nice job. I've used them several times before and plan to use them again.

I hired spar clean based on the reviews here on Angies list ,so far so good .they have cleaned my home two times and i am very happy with the results I do wish the price was a little lower however I am not sure if this amount is the going rate for two bedrooms

I was impressed with the owner that physically came to the house and assessed what I want. She estimated $400 for two women for six hours and she was very nice. She told me what they would do and what I should do prior to them coming; it was very nice. I plan on using them within the month.

Getting an initial estimate was a bit of a hassle, because the person who was scheduled to come was unable to get here for the first appointment and then rescheduling was complicated. However, once I approved the estimate, they put me on the schedule for the following week. Now, two women come and spend two hours cleaning my house every two weeks. They have done excellent work, with great attention to detail. I have tried a couple of cleaning services since moving to Suffolk County, and I am most happy with Spar.

I used them three times. They did a first cleaning where they sent an extra person were they stayed four hours instead of the typical two. After that I had them come out again. My understanding was that they were going to send two people for two hours. They had a contract that they gave me and I did not have it with me when I went to my mother's house to be there while they were doing the cleaning. They sent a lady to pick up the girls who were cleaning and collected the money. They sent three girls and that's not what they were supposed to do. She charged me and I disagreed with her because that was not what I had contracted for and that is not what I had discussed with the person at the office when I arranged the cleaning. The woman at my mother's house said she had to get paid so I ended up paying her but I did not call them again. At first I was very happy with them so I would have rated them higher. The second time they sent different people who were not as conscientious I will never call them again.

It went excellent. They were prompt and trustworthy.

I could not tell you how it went because they were late and I cancelled them. If someone can not be on time I understand but communication is important. I am in sales and if I am late I always call right away to update my customer. If I called an hour after my scheduled appointment I would never have a chance to do business with that company again.

This was our 1st time with Spar Clean and we will absolutely use them again without fail. They are courteous, careful and thorough. Even my elderly mother was impressed (and she's hard to please!!!) I heartily recommend their cleaning services.

I found them on Anglies, they were unfailingling polite. Gave me detailed info about cleaning, cost, time, etc BEFORE we even booked the job. They were prompt, and when they saw the size of my house, they sent over a fourth worker. They usually work in crews of 3. They were smily, worked hard, and I mean hard, polite and professional, finished near to the time frame quoted (it was a big job) and cleaned up after themselves. My house sparkles. The guy in charge told me, that all I need is a monthly 2 hour appointment to maintain my home. They did not push for extra or often future appointments. When I said I am used to bi-weekly service. He looked around and said, if you don't mind a little dust, your house really won't get dirty before 3-4 weeks. Wow !! Not only would I recommend them, but I plan on using them monthly.

They come in and they do a wonderful job. They do show up. I am on a biweekly schedule. I had three girls here and they were here for an hour and a half and it was $90. They would do anything I ask. I have lung cancer and there is a lot that I can't do and there are certain parts that I can't use and they work around it. Everything is sanitized, germ free and clean. They clean my refrigerator and change my bed which is very important. I would recommend them. They are expensive, but they are worth it. Their punctuality varies, but they come. They come during my shower so I have to give and take on that.

I live out of state and knowing my father someone to help my 89 year old dad live in a clean place. The women i have dealt with at Spar clean have been totally understanding of my situation and have been providing sympathetic and professional care. My dad is comfortable with them and from what I can tell, the house is immaculate which, despite his grumbling, my father (and his guests) appreciate.

I have been using this company for several years now. My home is approximately 4700 square feet, two story, with 6 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Cleaning is done on a weekly basis, on Monday. The day before, someone calls with time confirmation. The crews consist of either 2 or 3 people. Usually takes them 2 hours to clean. I leave the cleaning supplies out, the crew does their job, then puts the supplies away for me. They are pleasant and punctual. Had an incident, where an item was broken (accident, of course). The company was notified, apologized, and replaced the item within 2 weeks.

They always come with a crew of two. They are prompt and do a thorough cleaning. They are trustworthy and can be relied on. I have used the a couple years and have always been satisfied.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB, EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND WELL ORGANIZED. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS MOST OF THEM DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH, WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO COMMUNICATE.
