NYC FIREWOOD

Ordered 1/4 face cord of firewood delivered to NYC apt in late January. Scheduling was a nightmare, with very wide windows for delivery. Once I wasn't present when they delivered because they didn't call ahead as promised. Another time I was present but they didn't show up at all and did not explain with a phone call or email. When they finally delivered they gave me a lot less wood than what the description on their own website states for the amount ordered (brought ~50 logs for the price of 1/2 face cord when the number should be 120-140 logs). When I counted the logs and confronted them they came back and brought another ~30 logs, stating that they made a mistake. Overall the price paid comes out to about the same as buying from NYC delis (whereas supposed to be about 50% cheaper). Whole experience was a nightmare. I don't recommend dealing with this company. Moreover, I suspect (and this is a judgement call, in no way backed up by evidence) that the whole thing is a scam designed to shake down city dwellers a who don't know their firewood measurements.

We ordered several 1/4 face and 1/2 face cords from them. The wood was delivered loose in the back of a truck uncovered. This causes two problems. Sometimes the wood is not completely dry (ready to use). And two; you don't get a standard amount due to the non standard size. We initially liked them, but changed our minds after a few deliveries. We stopped because they only deliver when they are in the area and they didn't seem to want to go out of their way for small amounts.
