TRADITIONAL TREE SERVICE

Th job was done right. The service was professional.

When they arrived they got right to work they had my tree down in about 20 to 25 minutes and then they started to prune the other trees i requested. They were removing the branches the whole time from the yard and cleand the mess. The whole job took less time then i thought.

Excellent job all round. Came to estimate when he said he would. Gave what we felt was a very fair price. Was able to schedule the job only 2 days later. Said they'd be here about 8:30 a.m. and they were here at 8:25. The trees they had to remove were very large and right next to the power lines into the house. No problem whatsoever. They had all the right equipment (cherry pickers, giant woodchippers, etc) and very competent workers. All was completed within about 2 hours and they tidied up well afterwards. They came when they said they would, charged a fair price, were very pleasant to deal with and did a first rate job. What else could you want? We were thoroughly satisfied with their work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Oh, and they gave us a 10% discount because we learned of them through Angie's List! Excellent. Update: November 2014 We went back to Traditional Tree service this fall as we had a tree in the back yard lose a couple of large limbs and it was obvious the whole tree needed to be taken down. Once again they were prompt and courteous and did a great job. We're happy to continue to recommend them.

It went very well. They came quickly and provided an estimate. The work was performed two days later. Their performance exceeded our expectations. We would use them again.

We were extremely pleased and satisfied with all parts of the job, from estimate to completion. Steve was very professonal, prompt and knowledgeable. He called to let us know what time he would be there the day before, and was there with his crew on time. The crew was very neat, pleasant, and careful. They protected our vinyl fence and cleaned up thoroughly after they were finished.

Steve came and gave me an estimate the week before. I asked if it was possible to have the work done before Mothers Day. The crew came on Friday and spent the entire day there. The job was done professionally in addition to total clean up after job was completed.

I had very positive feelings about the reviews I had read about them. They were wonderful. I had received quotes from three different companies. Theirs was the highest, but I felt the most comfortable with the guy that came out. He seemed very knowledgeable. He pointed out things that others did not. I have a lot of trees in my property and he showed me which ones should be trimmed. I went with him because of my gut feeling about this company. I will use them again in a year or two. They were very punctual. They explained what they were doing. I had told them what I had in mind. They drew me a diagram and told me what they would be doing. There were some trees that looked healthy from outside, but once they were trimmed, they were rotted from inside. They cleaned up very well. It was a whole-day project, but it went on very smoothly. I spent about $2,500 on the job.

Several weeks prior to Hurricane Irene, I scheduled several estimates for tree work in my yard. The owner of Traditional Tree Service (Steve) showed up and gave a very fair estimate ($2,000). I told him and other companies that I planned on actually having the work done in the fall. Then the hurricane happened. In the week that followed the hurricane I called Traditional multiple times. I received one return call and was told they would view the job ASAP. 5 days later a company subordinate showed up and gave a ridiculous estimate for the imminent work I needed done: It was about one-fifth of my original estimate, yet was still $1,200. I showed the guy my original estimate, but he refused to acknowledge that he was gauging his price. He said to call the owner, which I did. After several unreturned phone calls over the next 3 weeks, I finally got a call back. Steve told me he would review both estimates and give a fair price. He said he would do the estimate himself at some point in October and if I approved, the work could be done in November. It is now December 10th. I never got the follow up estimate and obviously didn't have them do the work. While I realize the extremely extenuating circumstances created by the hurricane, they do not justify the poor business practices demonstrated by this company. If they were too busy for the work, they could've said so (as other companies did). Now you might be wondering, why did I allow myself to be strung out so long by this company? The answer is that they had an excellent rating on Angies list, so I had faith that they would be all that they would end up being all that they were cracked up to be. They were not. Although friendly and reasonably priced, Traditional Tree Service proved to be very unreliable- even 2 or 3 months after the hurricane. I would not recommend them.

They showed up and did the work, and their price was fair. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I called them and left a message regarding tree removal. The hurricane arrived a day or two later. They called to inquire if the tree was blocking anything significant or was dangerous to anyone. I informed them that this was not an emergency. They came by and left an estimate. I called them to give them the go ahead. They gave me a date for completion of services and on that day they arrived and removed the chunk of tree. The area was left very neat and clean.

We were very impressed with the professionalism of Steve's crew, especially the climber, who was outstanding. We watched this "performance" from our deck. Four ropes were required to stabilize the trunk and branches so they would not damage more trees, or the adjacent lawn and plantings, and to avoid any damage to LIPA's power line. This work is obviously dangerous, but the crew knew their jobs. The four workers on the ground knew just which ropes had to be hauled to accomplish what the climber directed, so branches and trunk could be placed on the ground for disposal. The branches were fed to the chipper; the logs hydraulically lifted onto the truck. After their blower was used, our back yard was neater than before the hurricane.

This a a good company. They work hard and get the job done.I would def use them again. They showed up early and completed the job fast. They cleaned up after leaving the lawn spotless. great job.I am very happy with their work. Great service!!!

The owner showed up in person and on time for the estimate. He was polite and professional and the estimate was very close to what I thought it might cost so I contracted with him for the job. He called back at the end of the week to schedule the work for the following Wednesday. The crew showed up on time and were professional and very efficient. They completed all the work as contracted. All stumps were ground down and the clean up was thorough. The property looks great. I was very happy with the price and the work that was done. I won't hesitate to use them again.

From the beginning Steve and and his company were professional, and punctual. He showed up for my estimate and conducted himself in a gracious manner fielding any and all questions my wife and I. He politely excused himself to complete an in depth survey of my property, and returned shortly thereafter with a written estimate and a complete rundown on how he planned to achieve what I needed. I explained to him the extremely tight timeline I had to clear my property and he was more than accommodating. Originally, his work timeline was to take down all the trees on day 1 and come back on day two to finish grinding whatever stumps were not completed on the previous day. Needless to say that was not necessary because they finished the job in one day. This was a fairly large job and i was concerned that any company that I would hire would be able to handle the task at hand. Not only did Steve show up with a more than adequate crew, he came to my home with more than the proper equipment for the days work. His crew was polite, professional, and willing to do whatever they could do make me happy. This was plainly evident because the foreman made sure to ask me if I was happy with the job. I was very impressed with the efficiency of the men and the precision in which they perform their trade. The crew left my property just as clean as if they were never there. I am extremely pleased with the performance of this company and would highly recommend. Top Notch!

Steve and his crew did a fantastic job removing a large maple tree on my property. They lowered all limbs by hand carefully, so as to not disturb anything else on my property. He was on time, responsive, and offered a great price.

I called Traditional Tree because of the good reviews on Angies List. I called and left a message, someone called me back promptly. I explained what I needed and he said someone would go over to my house and check it out. I was at work and Steve then called me from my house (I think it was the same day). We discussed the two separate tree issues and he made some recommendations on the birches. Once we discussed the details of what I wanted, he gave me a price. I said okay and he did it right there on the spot. I came home from work and everything was finished and clean up! Maybe I'm an overtrustworthy person to not even meet these guys, but I really liked how quickly they returned my call and went to my house. All the work was done as I requested. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

After reading glowing reports on Angies List in April, I called them to evaluate and possibly remove a large oak tree with a rotting trunk. Although he is only 20 minutes away, he told me he couldn't get to my neighborhood before June and would evaluate my situation then, leaving a note on my door if nobody was home. It is now mid-july and I haven't heard from him. When I called to inquire what or when he might show up, I left a voice mail and he failed to even return my call. I don't understand all the A ratings poated on the list, but I wouldn't use him if his ervice was free.

It went extremely well. Steve was prompt with an estimate and arrived on time. He and his men worked with incredible speed and precision. This was a thoroughly professional job. Clean up was excellent. I couldn't be more pleased with the way everything went. I recently recommended Steve to my neighbor and highly recommend him to all.
