Description of Work: I had our kitchen remodeled. Everything that could go wrong did. Their plumber never attached our sink into our countertop and the work that was done was so shabby that there was a small leak under our sink - which flooded our entire basement! The whole basement had to be redone and they wouldn't even pay our insurance deductible. They never finished the job and I had to hire so done else to fix all the mistakes - it would take all say to list them. Do not use!!

Description of Work: Kitchen remodel. After signing contract had medical issues they refunded my entire deposit even waited and when we decided not to proceed they refunded our entire deposit. Truly"class" act

Description of Work: Repairs of Storm damage: repaired large hole in garage roof, removed existing roof and installed a new one, replaced 2 movable skylights, replaced ceiling sheet-rock. Work was professional and completed in a timely fashion including protection of property and plantings. Clean up was ongoing daily. Questions were answered knowledgeably and politely (with no condescension, as sometimes happens between professionals and consumers). Minor problems were addressed rapidly and successfully. I have used Alure in the past and will do so again if the need arises.

Description of Work: Complete bathroom renovation. Didn't realize how many "little" things had to be accomplished during a project like this; glad I went with a real company rather than an independent contractor. Had the potential to be ugly a couple of times (communication with condo board, issues with supplier deliveries, stuff like that). Alure handled with aplomb. Yes I would use them again. In fact I might later on this year for a 2nd bathroom.

Description of Work: I had a house fire and needed substantial repairs. I went to a home show at the Nassau Coliseum on April 5 where I met representatives of Alure. They seemed very professional and they took all my information and said they would call to set up an appointment for an estimate. I didn't hear back from them until may 1. The person I spoke with said they were very busy because of Sandy and probably couldn't get out for an estimate until Some time in June! That would be more than 2 months after our first contact, and just for an estimate! Then he said because it was an insurance estimate due to a fire they would have to charge me! I said forget it! Funny thing was two other contractors I met at the same show had already been to my house for estimates by the time they called and, of course, didn't charge me for the estimates. Work is starting on my house in just over two weeks from now...weeks before Alure would have even come an estimate! Forget theses guys!

Description of Work: I've always heard Allure was reliable and did professional work. But, after getting about 4 quotes from contractors for work that needed to be done due to storm damage from Sandy, Allure was more than double everyone else's. I assumed it would be higher and I'm willing to pay for quality work but in this case It seemed to me that the salesman was inflating the price inorder to improve his commission.

Description of Work: replaced two windows with baywindow. removed old vinyl siding and insulated and intalled new vinyl siding. installed an extra 10 inches of insulation in attic.

Description of Work: Windows, doors and siding. Doors arrived they were not what we ordered. Scheduled date were cancelled and resceduled on Allure's part and window arrived with a big black shadow in it, because as we found out no qauility control is done on their behave prior to the customer receiving their products! When we contacted the office we got many conflicting stories about our products and when we asked to reschedule the girl in charge "Millie" had not idea of what needed to be completed, then when asked to speak to her boss "Frank", he was Arrogant, Nasty, Smart Mouth and had nothing nice to say except "Well If You don't like it...."!! Not professional at ALL!! Watch the workers!! You need to stay focused on their work!! They make nicks, and unnecessary marks, and cracked molding and when asked what happened, they said more or less "UTTT OHHHH"! People Beware, and do your research carefully!!! After spending 5 hours at the show room we had thought we had someone solid to work on our home!!! Never again!!! Good Luck to All to HIre ALLURE!!!!

Description of Work: Made an appointment for a rep. to come to our home to give, price, ideas for a bathroom remodel. A rep. from Allure called two days before appt. date and informed us that they do not have anyone that services our area, and when they do could they still give us an estimate. Why bother to advertise if you dont have anyone to come and to the work?

Description of Work: COMPANY ONLY PERFORMED ESTIMATE We visited their show room (a good experience) and had Alure come round to give a quote for a bathroom remodel. The bathroom is 10 foot by 5 foot. I told the guy repeatedly that next week we would gut the bathroom - i.e. rip out the bath, demolish an interior half wall, ripping out the vanity, ripping out the toilet, and the closet, and pulling down the gypsum board. Yet he insisted on creating a drawing of precisely where each of these items were before he could talk with us. He left after quoting $21000 to $24,000 to rebuild the 10 foot x 5 foot bathroom, which would have 1 shower (tile base), 1 vanity, 1 wall hung toilet, tiles half way up walls (all way in shower), and a closet. We had 3 questions that he said he would get answers to, but never called back. Basically the guy that came was a sales man that knew little about doing the actual job. When he didn't know he didn't call back with an answer. So basically nearly $500 per square foot to do the job, and won't even answer questions. My presumption is that he didn't want to do the job and that was his way of saying no. Basically a waste of time.

Description of Work: Alure had done a bathroom and basement previously so I called them to do a complete bathroom gut. Their salesman Chris came by, looked at the bathroom, had no answers to my questions. I gave him drawings of what I wanted in the bathroom and he took my info and stated he would get back to me. He never did. When I called several weeks later, he stated he had emailed me the info. I asked him to what email...and as he look thru his paperwork, he confirmed that he did not have my email address. I told him to mail me any estimate he may have by snail mail which he agreed to do. I never received anything. I called approximately three weeks later and was told Chris would call back. We never got a phone call. I sent a letter via the website complaining and asking why they are so unresponsive. I never got an answer.
