This was a good experience from the start. The salesman, Billy Coen, walked us through the prices, the options, and the process/timetable. Alure brings the showroom to you - if we had used another contractor and had to select every item we wanted in the bathroom we would still be in the selection phase, instead of being done. The project turned out to be a gutting of the bathroom and complete replacement of everything, including the tub. Since we're in an apartment, Alure couldn't keep to their 5-day schedule. Their revised estimate was pretty much on target. Alure takes care of everything except the final painting. Once we had agreed on the project and given the deposit, we were contacted by Fred Misurella, the site manager. He coordinated the demolition team, the construction, the plumber, electrician, and the tilers. They also took care of all the permits, which is a major step in White Plains. The project became somewhat more complicated once they had removed the walls. The ceiling and some walls needed to be reframed, and Martin, the main contractor, did a fantastic job. It was good to have all the contractors coordinated so we didn't lose any time waiting for the plumber or electrician, or for major parts like the vanity. The whole job was completed in just under two weeks, which isn't bad for this type of project. Everything looks wonderful! There are always some things that need to be fixed or adjusted after completion, and Alure has been prompt and attentive.

Earlier this year my husband and I were researching for a new bathroom. We had several contractors come to the house for an estimate which were high and were informed that it would take approximately two weeks to complete the job. TWO WEEKS WITHOUT A BATHROOM?!! My husband suggested to we look at Alure. He had seen their work on an ABC Network program. He went to their showroom in East Meadow and found out about a fvie day bathroom program that they advertised. He set up an appoinmtment and subsequently had the pleasure of meeting Billy Coen, a sales rep for Alure. Mr. Coen came to our home and gave us a verbal and computer presentation of Alures products and five day bathroom program. He brought alone with him so many samples that we felt like we were in the showroom. The five day bathroom starts at three levels in price. After selecting the materials that we liked, we wound up in the mid range price range. We signed the agreement and the work started within a couple of weeks. The payments were spaced out comfortably as the work progressed. But when they stated that the job would be completed in five days, that they did hold true to their word! First a demo contractor came in and ripped out the entire bathroom. On day one, another contractor (the installer) came in and started the sheetrock work and floor. Then an electrician came in by the thrid day and installed the recessed lights and independant electrical outlet. And the by fifth day, the entire bathroom was completed. The wall and floor tiles came to life as the bathroom work progressed. The vanity, the Kohler products all fell nicely in place. Alure uses top quality material and we are extremely pleased with the quality and workmenship of the job. We would certainly use Alure again for another big project. They are self insured and guarenteed their work. Thank you again Billy for your professionalism and patience (he may have ran up and down our stairs getting samples to show me). And in the end, for your friendship! It was a pleasure working with Mr. Coen on our project and many thanks to the girls at Allure for the daily calls and updates on the project.
Description of Work: We had a complete five day bathroom installed.

I couldn't have asked for better service from Paul my production manager, Tim my electrician/installer and Richie C my handyman. Paul did a fantastic job getting the work done quicker than I expected. He was there every step of the way to make sure I was satisfied with the work. Tim worked above and beyond to get all 3 units installed in one day. He wouldn't leave until the job was completed. Richie C did a great job removing the old air conditioners from the walls which was very difficult. He patched up the holes and sided the outside of the building. You would never know that there had been a hole there. They cleaned up after the work was done and make sure the job was done to my satisfaction.

Started off good with a good estimate meeting in early Dec 12' with the salesperson. Agreed on the job and price based on set of assumptions. After almost 3 months, I was finally able to GET them to schedule the job. I completely understand that following Hurricane Sandy that Allure was backed up and busy but they clearly dropped the ball on customer service. Many times, all it took was a call back (not days of chasing). Finally, I get the job scheduled and after a few back and forths with the foreman, they start the job. I was told that the salesperson we met with would arrive on start date to explain the job to the foreman and crew. The salesperson did not show. The foreman was there for about 5-10 mins and then left the crew. What? The entire job was subcontracted out. General demo/contracting, drywall team, mason. They say they are all and quot;Allureand quot; employees but they were not. Perhaps it was luck of the draw with Sandy and overbooking, but they should have not accepted my job then. The insulation was a complete subcontract job. I could have called the company (based on long island) myself and saved whatever up charge Allure made. I thought I was getting Allure here. The foreman was terrible. I ended up completely managing the job (not complicated) and had to watch them. They made mistakes along the way and tried to take short cuts. Example. We agreed to a 4' window. Apparently Allure did not have a 4' window in stock, so they try and switch it to a 3' window to keep the job on schedule but did not tell me. Mason comes (foreman not there) and cuts the hole which I complain after seeing it. I complain and they come back to fix it. However, the mason tried to take the easy way out and use the same Lint plate (metal bar that sits above the window header to support the bricks above), but clearly too small. Luckily I could tell and made them come back to fix it. The entire job was riddled with disappointment. Ultimately, they came back to fix the problems but when you hire a big company like Allure you expect professional service the first time. I could have easily hired all sub-contractors myself and likely would have been able to do it just as good (if not better) for 1/2 the cost. Perhaps they give better service to the big jobs (and gt;$100,000), but my experience was not good. It's a shame since our next project was 2 bathrooms and complete kitchen.

The sales rep, Billy, was extremely helpful, and had many suggestions and recommendations on things I needed done to update my kitchen. He spent a great deal of time helping me chose and making recommendations on cabinet doors, floor tile, countertop, backsplash, etc. that all coordinated nicely together. After that meeting, he was also very prompt in responding to me about any additional questions that I had. In the end, I chose to get my cabinets from a different manufacturer, and am using a contractor whom I used previously. But I would certainly look at Alure again for any future projects.

The two workmen were excellent, they were like a well oiled machine. They were skilled, prompt, polite, and cleaned up the area at the end of the workday. the supervisor was available if needed. We were happy that the entire project took only four days. The end result was beautiful. Alure even provided a complimentary cleaning service upon completion. We did have a few problems, which included water hammer in the shower spa. The company stood behind their work and corrected all problems. Everyone we dealt with, in person or on the phone, was professional and responsive to our needs.
Description of Work: We had a small bathroom remodeled which included the removal and replacement of all walls, ceiling, insulation, fixtures, and tile shower walls & floor. Existing electrical and plumbing were fine, required no additional work in the walls, except for the installation of an exhaust fan/light. The shop at home experience was convenient but a little confusing as selections were limited. When I have Alure remodel my other bathroom I will make it a point to visit the showroom, after going over selections with the in-home salesperson, to see if other options may be more appealing.

Overall a very good experience. Pricing was competitive, work was excellent, workers were punctual and competent. They also were able to accelerate timelines and work around our schedule. The salesperson and laborers were courteous and professional, the production manager was rude. But we had the least amount of interaction with him. We also had obtained a quote on a bathroom addition at the same time and the salesperson for that job was inaccurate in her pricing and not very responsive. Overall we were extremely pleased with the siding job and would use Alure again.

We will clearly not be using a company that doesn't want to work with us; and we hope others will learn not to contact a company that only wants to take on the largest jobs. It's a win-win for everyone!
Description of Work: We contacted Alure to inquire about floor work for our kitchen. I guess it must not have been a big enough job for this large corporation, and they promptly hung up us. The person contacted us took a call back number, but there hasn't been a return call at this point. Update: I did receive a message from Alure that they had no record of us and to call again. We have already found another contractor at this point.

It started on day 1 with no workers showing up and they already had our money. They apologized and told us it was poor communication. They then subcontracted all of the jobs out, which felt like no one cared about the job nor talked about the full project with so many things falling to the wayside. We went through Hurricane Sandy, a blizzard, and winter weather without heat. Our heat was just turned back on this month. We did have one of the CEOs of a company come out to our house and his answer to the problem was "Oh, we're sorry, we dropped the ball." The project is still not finished months later and we have not received even a dollar in reduction.

We originally approached Alure in the early Fall 2012 to replace the siding on our home and add a portico over the front door. As we were meeting with siding representative we told him about our home renovation and quot;wish listand quot;. He suggested we speak with one of their Home Service Specialists. This person called us within a few days and we were very impressed with his knowledge and ideas. Actually he was a very likeable person. This person also discussed with us many different ways to finance a large scale project. What we liked the most was how everything was under one roof. We would only have one person to deal with. The project was estimated to cost between $200,000 and $250,000. We contacted our mortgage lender to start the paperwork for the 203K loan. We gave Alure a $2,000 deposit and signed a retainer to do the initial architectural work, permits and variance. Then came Hurricane Sandy. We were so impressed with Alure we recommended them to our son and his fiance, whose home was severely damaged in the storm. Three appointments were made with them and not kept. The excuse was and quot;running behind and do not have contact info to calland quot;. My son fired Alure after the third no show appointment. There project was estimated at $150,000. We should have seen the writing on the wall! But we liked the person we were dealing with and decided to move forward hoping it was just the aftermath of such a devastating hurricane. We even suggested to Alure it would be fine with us if they needed to put our project on hold until the Spring 2013 because there were so many people without homes due to Hurricane Sandy. We were told our project was a go and we would get together the following week to finalize everything. Many requests were made to meet with the Architecht to do the renderings and finalized the plans, but never happened. We needed drawings, budgets, etc for the 203K loan but could not get this information. At that point we became very concerned. If communication and the ability to deliver is bad in the beginning what would it be like when the project was in full swing. We cancelled the financing, could not justify paying $12K in closing costs for something so uncertain. Finally in January Alure called to say they were ready to move forward. REALLY! We informed them they were fired and we wanted our $2,000 refunded immediately due to a lack of performance on their part. A certified return receipt letter was sent to Alure last week confirming we fired them for none performance and requesting a refund of our deposit. So far we have not heard back from Alure or received a refund of our $2,000. We are very disappointed things turned out this way as we had high hopes for this project and working with Alure.
Description of Work: Met with two different representatives from Alure. Met with their Home Service Specialist several times. Discussed ideas and setting up meeting with Architect to do renderings and final design. Met with Home Service Specialist at East Meadow showroom to look at samples. Met with Home Sevice Specialist at Kitchen cabinet supplier showroom to discuss cabinet ideas.

The result--Our small bathroom looks like a mini spa. The design process--We had three budget levels for materials--tile, flooring, fixtures, lighting, countertop, shower doors, cabinetry, etc--to chose from, and many choices within each level. We loved the choices, except for the lighting fixture, so I bought my own and they installed it without question. The work process--The supervisor made his presence known throughout the week (dropping in/checking in) and beyond and was readily available to us and his three-man team via cell. They were hard working, showed up as promised, worked steady throughout the day, communicated clearly and politely, and respected us and our home during the process. Considering we have a one-bathroom home, they also planned the teardown and renovation so we could have use of the facilities for as long as possible. The troubleshooting--* The team hit an unexpected snag in repositioning of the toilet/sink, consulted with the supervisor, and came up with a rerouting solution that was still to code and true to the promised design. When I first heard this, we thought they'd be asking us for more money, but they said there would be no additional charge to us, just another 1/2 day longer than they anticipated. * They had to come back for some recorking, which they warned me might happen due settling/drying. * The countertop arrived cracked, but they reordered and it arrived with plenty of time to be installed before the project was done. * They payed for a carpet repair/treatment due to some spot damage caused. * Long after the work was done, I accidentally broke one of the glass shelves in the medicine cabinet and contacted them to see where I could buy a replacement. They replaced it free of charge and even came, installed it, and tweaked other items while they were here. Only lingering complaint--The wood of bathroom door is of less quality than I'd prefer. On another note--After Hurricane Sandy--despite the fact that they redid our roof more than a decade ago, they came and replaced roof tiles without question or charge!!!
Description of Work: We've been in our 1947-era, house for 21 years now. During that time, we've engaged Alure's services for windows and door installation (within the first year we moved into the house), complete gutting and remodeling of bathroom (transformed the space!), and removal of four layers of old roofing and installation of new roof. From the estimating process through the troubleshooting stages, we were quite pleased with their service, professionalism, honoring promises, ability to communicate clearly, and quality. Materials and workmanship have held up quite well. I'll confine my review to our bathroom renovation, since it was the largest project that they performed for us, $12,000+ and about 3 - 5 days worth of work. Our initial contact, the designer, was patient and had good ideas, including repositioning of the toilet and sink to maximize the space utilization and modernize the look as well as replacing the tub with a shower-only enclosure.

Bathroom was first. Went well. quality of work was excellent. One issue with the new plumbing leaking, but was fixed promptly. No other issues. Room addition was more involved and was delayed due to existing room slab found to be domed after the new room slab was poured. Had to remove and pour new slab for the existing room (den) at my cost. During room construction, storm tore the tarp off the frame and exposed the interior of the house. When we called - a complete crew was onsite in less than 20 minutes at 4:30 a.m. and replaced the tarp. Customer service is where they generally excel. Quality work crews did my job. Changes were often made and the cost was reasonable. All the workers were polite and professional. The room came out fantastic. Had two different electrician companies on the job. I preferred Nassau Suffolk. No issues. Good communication. Other company used by Alure made some wiring mistakes when they separately changed my electric service (outside the Alure contract). Bottom line - you pay more with Alure, but they are responsive and will come back to fix anything that is an issue. Example: One of the windows lost its vacuum. They sent someone over - ordered a new window insert and installed it when it was done (custom sized). I would use them again because they are responsive. One pet peeve is that they sometimes order extra material to ensure they can do the job, but you never get credit for the unused material.
Description of Work: New roof, soffit and siding. New Master Bathroom. Reside the house and new roof. New permanent room/sun room addition with vaulted ceiling, wood floors in new room and existing den. Remove brick wall and move new wall to enlarge existing den. The first contact we had was with the kitchen designer. She was the reason we decided to use Alure. She came in with a totally new design, relocating the refrigerator and allowing us to have a kitchen island, better utilization of the space, and allowing for more cabinets and counters. While this added some to the price, it seemed worth it to us. One of the best parts of our experience was the ease of selecting cabinets, counters, floors and plumbing - all in their showroom. She seemed to get a sense of our tastes and showed us products that made our choices easy. We were assigned a project manager and although they mostly used subcontractors, these were companies they use on a regular basis. The project manager stopped by most days, and was responsive to calls and e-mails answering our questions and responding to issues and problems that came up. They completed most of the work on a very timely basis, although their were a few issues in scheduling along the way. The project was on hold for 2 weeks due to the hurricane, but thankfully was finished in time for Thanksgiving. We still have a few minor issues, but we are confident that they will be taken care of soon. We absolutely love our new kitchen - the floor, cabinets and backsplash all complement each other and our kitchen looks amazing.
Description of Work: New kitchen design, complete gutting of walls, ceilings and floors. Installation of new cabinets, appliances, counters, doors, floor.

Alure is a class act. I consider them the most reasonably priced high-end contractor. Designs are excellent. They are patient and want to please. Did not nickel and dime on on changes. Cleaned up every day. Stayed on schedule. Gave us several gift certs for dinners when the premises were unusable. Their points program generated a free 8-day trip for us!
Description of Work: Push out and redesign kitchen; revise first floor bedroom plan, new windows, insulation.
