Absolutely wonderful, from the people who demoed the old kitchen, to every professional that did the plumbing, electrical, flooring and installation of the cabinets. Would suggest this company, and sing their praises and I have, to any one that will listen. They are professional, clean, show up when they are supposed to and stand by their products. Great customer service. When it is time to redo my bathroom, they will be the first on my list.

This was the sixth major project that Alure has done for us (they are the best, most reliable and attentive provider in the HI arena among several very good ones we have used in our 38 years here). Tim has been terrific in follow-up as we have learned the best approaches to its use and care in the especially cold, snowy weather this winter. We have been delighted with the performance in HEATING our house and look forward to its cooling next summer. Like every other prior Alure project we've had done (Roofing, siding, windows, doors and bathroom), the job was done right, the workers are friendly and professional, the results are excellent. Alure is NOT the cheapest provider. But, their post-job support (loose siding following Sandy, cracked window by lawn workers, re-sealing flashing after hard winter), make the added cost more than worth it. We always recommend Alure to others.
Description of Work: The most recent project was the installation of five Fujitsu ductless air conditioning units throughout the house to provide AC and heat. Sales (Bob Josepher) gave us a thorough understanding of the system and its benefits. Installer Tim Ferro made further modifications and did a flawless job of integrating the new system into the house with minimum disturbance.

Alure Home Improvements was TERRIBLE. I contracted with them to do a 5 day bathroom remodel. They charged us over $12,000 for this job. The crew that came worked on average 3-4 hours per day and my 5 day remodel turned into a 10+ day job. The foreman of the crew was hardly at the job and only showed up to collect money. The finished product is less than my expectations- grout is cracking all over the bathroom, the models are cracking, there is glue oozing out of the woodwork. And to make matters worse, last week my pipes froze. They came back to inpsect after insisting there was R14 insulation in the walls. The service inspector cut open my kitchen ceiling only to find out that the pipes were not insulated at all and the exterior wall with the pipes was not insulated either. So not only did they charge me a fortune, took 5 days longer than expected, they did not do the job properly. I would NEVER recommend them!
Description of Work: It was supposed to be a 5 day bathroom remodel, that turned into a 10-12 day job.

We have only one full bathroom, so we kept putting off a much needed renovation with fears that our bathroom would be out of commission for weeks or even months. After hearing good things about ALURE from friends. visiting their showroom in East Meadow, and finding out about their 5 day bathroom program, we decided to go ahead with the project. We worked with Billy Coen on our bathroom design, which was more customized than the 5 day bathroom choices. Alure gave us an estimated 10 days to complete the job because of the extra work involved. They started the demolition on a Monday afternoon, and by Saturday of the same week - 5 days later we able to use our new shower. By Monday, 2 days later, the bathroom was complete, and nearly perfect - 7 days in total. There were adjustments to be made, specifically, the Kohler Levity shower door leaked and had problems no matter what was done to try and fix it. It took a couple of months of negotiations with Kohler, all done by Alure, to refund the money, and Billy helped me to pick a new shower door from a different manufacturer. While the shower door was faulty, it was operational, and when the replacement door came scratched with the wrong header, the new parts were ordered and installed within 10 days. The scratched door and wrong style header did not interfere with the functioning of the doors, and AT NO TIME WERE WE LEFT WITHOUT A FULLY FUNCTIONING BATHROOM. They also fixed any other small flaws we saw when they installed the new door. The responsiveness of Billy and Fred Misurella, who was in charge of the construction part of the job, remained just as good as on day one. When I walk into my new bathroom, it's like going on a vacation. They helped us take our ideas and made them into reality. Their people were extremely competent and always professional. They kept things cleaned up inside and outside the house while the work was in progress. Part of the job is having Stella's cleaning service come to clean and detail the bathroom when it's completed. Stella's people did a fabulous job. Alure may be a bit more expensive, but they deliver as promised, and stand by their work. I was told to call in 6 months to touch up the grout, because there will be some cracking as things settle in. If I had the means I would give them the keys, plan a vacation, and come back when they've renovated the rest of my house. I recommend ALURE without reservation. They did an excellent job.

They installed new Vinyl siding on my cape cod style house. The sales pitch went great and the salesman was very informative. I signed the contract after reviewing all the small print and was happy with the product that they were going to use. Of course there were a few "Don't worry about it" comments thrown it after I had a few more questions. Was told the job should not take any longer than 5 days as most of the house is brick. I just learned to be sure everything is in writing before you sign. Handshakes mean nothing now. The project manager and I went over what was needed on a pre install trip to my home and I thought we had everything all ironed out. I was informed that there was asbestos shingles under the existing siding and this required a rip out crew, who they hire to remove the old aluminm siding and shingles . They arrived earlier and began to rip off the old siding and shingles. The contract stated a certain price and when they finished they asked for more money which I said no to. They also managed to ruin and rip off a bunch of roofing shingles and damaged three window screens in the process. they left debris all in my shrubs that I am still picking out. None of my landscaping shrubs and trees were covered. I must state this company was not Allure but they were contracted by them to do the job. |They were supposed to start the new siding on a certain date but had to cancel and postpone one day. The following day they showed up with two workers and a supervisor whose job was it to interface with me and answer any questions I may have. He sat in the truck all day for the entire install except for the times he needed to pick up something that was needed for the job. Not a bad gig if you ask me. I had already spoken to the project manger and informed him about the issues brought on by the rip out crew and he said not to worry as they would all be taken care of. The job took weeks to finish not just 5 days. Lets say they started 2nd week in November and last week (Dec 30th) they showed up with my repaired screens looking for final payment. | |While I have only good things to say about the actual product used and the quality of the workmanship as the job they did to make the siding look great was challenging. I did however have to rewire all the light fixtures they reinstalled as it would caused a problem later on. They are not electricians and I think this is something they need to look into as everything electrical needs to be done properly to meet code. Also when they were ripping out some sheathing from the garage one of the workers pushed a piece of the lumber through the wall and into my back sun room putting a 6 inch hole in the just painted room. When I showed the project manager said it was an accident, which I agree but his attitude was opps not a big deal a bit of plaster could fix it and I should have no problem fixing it. Well I was not about to fix a 6 inch hole in my newly painted wall they were. They finally sent in a plaster guy in to fix the hole and he did a great job. Still not painted, will discuss that later. | |When it came time to do the leaders and gutters I brought up to the project manager they they needed to extend my leader to match the existing ones as I was told would not be a problem at the sales meeting. Well this is when things went south as far as I was concerned and the project manager stood firm and said he would not have his guys go under a deck to run the leaders again something we discused previously. From then on the I realized my next project which was to finish my basement would be definitely given to another vendor. You would think I was asking for a 10,000 upgrade. The month before I was under the deck myself but he would not allow his guys to do it. When the gutter guys showed up they also did a great job and had no issue in doing what I had asked. |So for a month I had all the debris and supplies on my back lawn untill just before Christmas when they took my screens to be repaired. when they showed up last week with the screens and wanted final payment I said no issue but would be subtracting the cost of painting the wall that was still not done and was just a white coat of plaster. The project manager again quipped that he should of been told that I was Not gooing to paint it and his guys would of done it. So again your guys knock a hole in my newly painted room and you expect me to fix it at my own expense. Dont think that is going to happen. |When all is said and done the two guys who did my vinyl siding did a great job and I am very pleased. But will never use the company again for any other project. After spending 16,000 they quibbled over 200.00 along with trying to get out of fixing the other issues I had with my shingles and screens. Took way to long to complete from what I was told when I signed my contract. I am willing to be flexible with a few days but we are talking weeks. Tell me up front how long it will take and I could be a bit more understanding. |

Thank you for your kind words. We hope you enjoy your kitchen for many years to come.
Alure removed the tub, shower, sink, and toilet. The walls were removed down to studs with appropriate sheet rock and insulation replacing it. Molding was installed around the bathroom window. The old floor tiles were ripped out and floor leveled. Since I was having more than 3 pieces installed I couldn't get the 5 day job but they still finished 99% of the job in 6 days. The bathroom was on the 2nd floor and Alure was sure to cover the carpeted steps and cordoned off the work are with plastic sheets to minimize the dust. One of the best things to me was removing the trash. The demo team took the tub and sink away immediately and a truck came back for the remainder. I am absolutely pleased with the work performed and wish I had work done years ago. We now have a new tub that I can soak with a ledge for candles or flowers. They removed the old separate shower and installed an new angle shower. I had a grab bar put in the shower and one in the tub. The vanity is spacious with two nice size drawers and additional storage space beneath. Alure installed floor tiles and walls tiles half way up the wall and all the way in the shower area. The most people were present during demo-day one. The rest of the time there was basically one installer doing the labor. The laborer was courteous and professional. There was glitch. Somehow the medicine cabinet mirror became cracked prior to installation. It was installed anyway just as a place holder so the work could continue and a replacement secured. Unfortunately there was a mix-up in the communication with the project director and the replacement mirror wars incorrect so I had to wait an additional week. I also notice a small, really mall scratch on the cabinet. But since I paid big money I didn't want any scratches on day one. Alure didn't bat an eye. They replaced the cabinet door without any problem or haggling whatsoever. I wish Alure also would have painted the bathroom as part of the completion but they don't and the handyman pricing the offered for the paint job was too high so I did it myself. Other than that I would absolutely recommend Alure for a Bathroom remodel job and make sure you ask for Billy Coen who was honest and extremely helpful for me, and always available by phone or email when I needed him.
Description of Work: I had not remodeled the bathroom in 30 years. Alure's rep Billy Coen came to my home for a scheduled appointment. First off I was impressed because Billy came exactly when he said. That's important to me because I hate sitting around waiting for anyone. Billy brought in samples, did preliminary measurements, and we discussed the estimated cost. From my point of view there was no pressure. I was shown various combinations of tiles, countertops, tubs, etc. Even a selection of colored grout!

Both my husband and I are very pleased with ALURE's work and have already told our friends and my co workers about them. Many of them have already heard of ALURE and the quality of work they provide. In our case, we were the victims of a disastrous home improvement Co, which we had to fire due to their incompetence. We called ALURE and they literally saved the day. In 5 days, they did everything from tile to plumbing and left us with a beautiful bathroom. My husband, was mostly impressed with the solid, perfectly done work by the Plumber, Electrician and Tilers. I just saw the beautiful, finished product and smiled. If I were alone and had this done on my own, not knowing what was going on behind the tile, plumbing and electricity, I would be at the mercy of the company I hired. As I have learned, that could be a disaster. Anyone who hires ALURE can rest easy knowing that they are in the best hands. We HIGHLY recommend ALURE to anyone interested in a quality, trustworthy home improvement that meets the highest standards in the field.

No one every called us back after the initial contact at the Home Show.
Description of Work: Spoke with the Alure Home Improvements representative at the White Plains Home show on October 27, 2013. We were looking to remodel two 5x7 bathrooms. They told us about the TV show they were involved with and assured us that our project was not too small a job for them to handle. We were told that someone would contact us by Tuesday 10/29/2013. It's almost two weeks and no one has yet to contact us. After reading all of the negative reviews on Angie's List we consider ourselves extremely lucky that they apparently lost our number.

He was very poor in responding. Then we set up a date and then all of a sudden they could not do it on the date that was agreed upon. So, I am not going to use them, because I was not happy with that. He had plenty of notice; I had this set up for two or three months. When it came down to it, he never sent me the estimate and did not do a follow up on the date. The floors never got done and because of that, they were not reliable. I traveled all the way up there for no reason. I will never use them.

We cannot be happier with the work from this company. We first met with Mike Serra to discuss windows and siding. He literally sold us on the company with his demeanor and knowledge. We had other companies coming to discuss estimates and we cancelled with them and signed that night with Mike for the job. His knowledge was vast, he let the product do the talking. What we liked the most was his personality, willingness to sit and answer any question we may have, and the fact that he did not push us. He gave us the information and we did not feel like we were being pushed to make a decision. We than decided to do siding as well. They sided our house and detached garage. New windows and shutter. The foreman and company was with us every step of the way. We went to the showroom to discuss and look at siding options. They even brought up a picture of our house with different siding options. The workers were extremely professional. They started when they said they would. The project manager was always checking in and the cleanup was excellent. We were extremely satisfied with the job. We have received many compliments on the work. We were so happy with the work I discovered on their website they have smaller jobs, handyman jobs. We than contacted them to have the inside of our garage done. Paul Charlton was the job manager for that job. Again, his team was on time and professional. Rich Cheatham was part of that crew and again, professional and on time. Clean up I could not be happier with. I am looking to tackle other renovation jobs in the future and my phone call will be to Alure. I really cannot say enough about the company. After both jobs we received phone calls to see if we were happy with the work, if there were any areas of improvement needed. I really felt like customer satisfaction was their number one priority. Sammy and Diane Bethpage
Description of Work: We actually had siding and windows completed in the Spring. We than called them back to do work in our garage through their handyman program. They completely insulated and sheet rocked the garage.

The company's mission statement is that they want every customer to be a raving fan...I AM A RAVING FAN! This co. has done the extreme home makeovers on TV. My job was a 10 day kitchen. It's the best renovation I ever had! I have a lot of counter space and knew that would be expensive to replace. Their pricing was so good, I was able to afford quartz counters instead of granite (harder to maintain). My salesperson was DIANE POWERS and she was wonderful to work with. They had so many choices available that it was easy (it took one evening!) to put together a kitchen I could love. She also worked and succeeded at satisfying my particular sink issue. She also was in constant contact with me to make sure everything was going as expected. She was a love from start to finish. My project manager was JOHN BOWER and he also was wonderful to work with. He was informative, and always available for any of my concerns, including getting the exact sink that I wanted. A major concern for me was protecting my oil resin finished hard wood floors and he knew exactly how to do so. His crew (affectionately called the and quot;Andrew crewand quot;) headed by ANDRII ROZKVAS, was considerate, professional, and very talented. His work on the tile back splash was artwork. And he did not hesitate to take care of a few things that popped up (needed a new garbage disposal and he got that for me, among other things). They were very neat and clean, tidying up every night. At the end I only had one thing on the punch list (thatand quot;s a first!) which was a matching problem with the back of my breakfast bar. John did not give up until he made the perfect match. I highly recommend Alure to anyone. I will be a repeat customer. When it's time to do my master bath, I'm not calling anybody else except them. In fact, this co. offers so many services overall, that I expect that anything I update or repair will be done by them, if all their departments deliver as spectacularly as this one did. Happy happy raving fan :)

When they first attempted to install the window, they installed it upside down. They didn't insulate it or attach it properly. The window has been leaking buckets, non-stop, for over five years. They have tried all sorts of patchwork, but even still, they postponed each fix for as long as they could. They couldn't fix the fact that the window was most likely cracked. After five years, they finally admitted that they needed to order a new window and submitted to the fact that it was cracked from when they installed it upside down. That was more than a year ago. They have been dragging their feet ever since. When I finally got a hold of the vice president, they ordered a new window. They made promises to come and install it today. However, when I called to see when they were coming, they informed me that they would not be coming because, and quot;I was being difficult.and quot; How would you feel if you had spent about $7000 on a new window, and then it had caused major flooding problems . The flooding is so bad that it has caused mold and health issues. The window was supposed to have a 10 year warranty, which I have in writing on a signed contract. The warranty was supposed to include both the window and labor. I never saw a and quot;being difficultand quot; clause within that contract. This was only one problem of many. There were many other problems I had to hire many other contractors to fix what they did wrong. Back when all of these problems first began I also had to deal with sexual harassment from a certain staff member. Will all of these issues and problems I believe they should be coming out and completing the work properly.

I am writing this letter in response to feedback provided by one of our customers, Cindy (member name removed). While we are certainly not perfect, don’t pretend to be and will go to whatever remedies necessary to resolve a situation, we have come to a point where we feel there is no resolution available. We have always stood behind our work and will continue to do so, but we must be allowed to discuss reasonable potential options. This is one of these situations where there are no foreseeable options and no clear-cut path to resolution. We were initially contracted to complete some renovation work for Ms. (member name removed) in July of 2008 consisting of siding, windows and two doors. The project rarely moved forward without some type of conflict as we felt Ms. (member name removed) was unrealistic in her demands. Nevertheless, we continued and attempted to please Ms. (member name removed) in every way possible. At completion, Ms. (member name removed) sought to renegotiate the contract, and finally; we reduced the price by 15% to bring the matter to a resolution. There were some small service issues over the next two years, including the handle on the storm door that broke. All of which, we attended to. In 2012, nearly four years later, we were called by Ms. (member name removed) about a leak in her bow window. Over the next several trips to the residence, we could not solve the cause of the leak. It would not leak during every rainstorm only when the rain fell in a certain direction. As the frustrations on both sides grew, we offered to let her bring in another contractor, replace the window, and we would pay the bill. After many months, Ms. (member name removed) informed us that she could not find anyone to do the work, and they could not provide the same window to match the rest in her house. We then offered to supply a new window, deliver it to her house and allow another contractor of her choice to install it. We would pay the installation bill. Again, many months later we were informed that she was unable to find someone to do it. As a last attempt at resolution, we offered to do the work ourselves despite Ms. (member name removed)s many phone calls degrading the company, the employees and even touching on their families. We ordered the window and set a date for installation. The phone calls started again, and the demands became more intense. We received over three dozen calls, many after hours, in a three-day period with continued accusations and demands there were not only unreasonable but irrational as well. We enlisted the help of our corporate attorney to mediate this to a peaceful resolution. He has since exhausted all avenues of reconciliation with this client. At this point, our offer still stands; we will provide the new window and pay to have it installed by a contractor of her choice. We will no longer subject the company, our employees or their families to the harassment and degradation of this client. We are a long-standing company with a solid reputation and are willing to go to almost any length to resolve a situation. Irrational, derogatory abuse is not one of them.

Alure developed a plan for a remodel of our kitchen. We selected all the cabinetry, lighting etc. placed our deposit ($11,600) for the work to commence. Subsequently my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. We notified Alure and indicated we wanted to wait before proceeding. Five months have gone by and we now decided that the kitchen remodel project should not go forward. I informed Alure last week and they returned my deposit in full, $11,600 today (less than a week). Alure was under no contractual obligation to return our deposit, Alure is truly a rare and class contractor. Alure, three years ago, did our bathroom remodel which was the reason we requested they do our kitchen. I strongly recommend the Alure team. Bill Coen the designer and John Brower the project manager are the models which all contractors should emulate. I now see why they are TV's extreme makeover contractor!

I used Alure Home Improvements to do a full bathroom remodeling project in my home. My experience with the company was fantastic. First, I dealt with Blythe, the project designer, both in my home and at the Alure showroom. She was knowledgeable, caring and helpful in designing my bathroom. Together we selected all the necessary materials. Now that the bathroom is a reality, I am delighted with the outcome. Blythe is terrific!! Jay, the project manager, was great at organizing. He kept me informed as to what work would be accomplished each day. He personally checked on the progress many times. Erik, the installer, was a phenomenal craftsman. His work ethic was outstanding. He was creative and meticulous. I was very pleased with the way he left my home each day. The tile work is fabulous. I would highly recommend Alue to my friends and neighbors. Great job!!

I have gone through remodeling projects before and this was far and away the best experience I ever had. They gave me the lowest bid of three contracting firms I brought in to estimate the project. I could not believe the short project timelines but they were real. I had my kitchen in 10 working days and my bath in 5 working days. I say this because we had to wait one day to do inspections. My friends could not believe how quickly my house was transformed. I understand why they were selected to do extreme makeovers. They gave me a schedule of work and kept to it. Everyday the project manager came on site at least once. I also received a call from the main office each day to let me know the accomplishments for the current day and the plans for the next day. Best communication I have ever had. Love the quality and the seamless implementation. Plus the guarantee is amazing. I wish I found them years ago. I highly recommend them for all of your remodeling needs. They also gave me excellent recommendations for other smaller projects.

We're completely satisfied with the quality of the work. One minor reservation: Because the team generally arrived well after 9:00 AM, they had to stay into the nighttime hours to finish by the agreed-upon date. A bit annoying, but really just a minor blip. We would definitely use them again. By the way, these guys stand behind their work. In the past, they've come back years later to make things right.

While the woman who came to my house was nice, she seemed like my basement was too small of a project for their company and I never heard back from anyone at Alure. It's a shame because their work does look nice.

This is long, because Alure is that good. The stages were seamless. An in-home meeting and assessment by a home specialist explaining the potential materials, cost and duration. Then upon making my decision to retain Alure because they would do it all (remove all old closet doors from the apartment, perform minor interior construction and install new closet doors with minor last minute customer changes), which was all confirmed by another in-home re-assessment by the job production supervisor. Hands-on team fulfillment is what impressed me and what was witnessed. The production supervisor ensured that the best workmen were assigned and stopped by periodically to ensure customer satisfaction and advise on overcoming challenges. Now, having explained that-- I live in a 13-story condominium in Queens that have many pre-approvals requirements. This was not a problem for the Alure team which also pleased me. The entire job meant functioning within a certain amount of space without damage to pre-existing items. Easy! No worries! Never a problem, as a matter of fact the workers were neat and meticulous for the entire length of the project. Polite, professional and communicative regarding each phase, as well as being very accommodating in answering various questions/concerns. I would definitely use and refer the services of Alure Home Improvements. Our course during these challenging budget conscious times, some might view Alure as pricey but you have to remember that you get what you pay for. All I can say, as a nickel and dimer myself, is to think long term. Invest once and never think about it again. Thank You ALURE!

I was very pleased with Alure Home Improvements! I was well taken care of by the sales person, financial team, contractor, builders, specialists, etc. The initial person who came to my house to give me an estimate for my job, Jim Quinn, saw me through every phase of the project and was very responsive to all of my questions, needs, and concerns. He kept in frequent contact with me via email, phone, text, or in person. I felt I was in very good hands! The project was fairly easy for me as Alure handled ALL of the details from planning, architect visits and drawings, to surveys, permits, obtaining supplies, work people, building, cleaning up, etc. etc. They even helped facilitate financial assistance. The specialists, contractor, builders and other work people were responsive, courteous, neat, efficient, etc. I am VERY pleased with the final product, and would recommend Alure without reservation.

My den is gorgeous! I love it! The bathroom that they did last year was entered into a national contest. They did a really good job. I would recommend them over any other contractors I've ever used.
Description of Work: They've done three bathrooms for me, and have redone the basement into a den, now with metal studs - no sheetrock.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with the results of our recent kitchen and bathroom renovation projects with Alure. Billy Coen (our salesman) is a seasoned, home improvement professional who gave us confidence that Alure would deliver quality, and quot;on timeand quot; and and quot;on budgetand quot;. I hereby confirm that Alure lived up to our expectations. Several of our friends sait it could not be done in the promised time-frame and there are always budget overruns. Alure proved them wrong. Alure's project manager, Fred Misurella visited our home quite frequently and ensured that the project was always on schedule. He was very knowledgeable of our project and always provided a reasonable response to each of our questions. Fred continued to fine-tune the project as we went along. Similary, Clare Shames and Patricia Tallini from the corporate office, gave us daily updates of how the day went and what were the plans for the following day. After interviewing five vendors, we knew we had saved the best for last. Billy Coen's presentation convinced us to sign on his first visit, where we were not able to do that with the previous four contractors. He patiently addressed all of our concerns and tailored the renovation to our specifications. The workmen were efficient, skilled, friendly and respectful. As the project progressed, we became quite comfortable with leaving them in our home during our absence. We strongly recommend Alure for their fine work and look forward to using them again for future home improvements.
