The owner of this company is rude, accusatory and has deplorable customer service. She called to inquire why I refused a delivery and accused me of having another oil company. I told her I did not; I actually called for service the week prior. I tried to explain that I recently had a house flood and was not ready to pay the $900+ cost of an oil bill at the moment. The explanation fell on deaf ears; she again made the accusation of using another oil company and closed my account. I told her I did not like her tone, she in turn debased the conversation into an argument. I was with Skaggs-Walsh ( now Atlas Oil) for nearly 15 years and never had an issue with postponing a delivery. The owner was rude, disrespectful and discriminatory. She's in dire need of sensitivity training.

A MUST TO AVOID! After 21-years of contracts with this company, they not only dropped me when I tried to confirm that all contracts are in my name (due to divorce) they refused to reimburse me for the balance of the service contract and at least two years of over payment for regular oil delivery

Skaggs walsh is a terrible company. They over charge you almost a dollar more for oil. A big rip off. When asked why they charge more they play stupid. Like they have no idea what I was talking about. They won't work with you through this pandemic. I kept in touch with them and made some payments because I had a tenant not paying rent for 7 months. Finally got a new tenant. Told skaggs on Dec. 5th when I called to make a small payment that I got a new tenant I would make my full payment first week in Jan. I called Jan 4th to make my payment and they sent it to collection WOW. After I told them I would be starting my regular payments again. They did that because I switched to Petro for oil. I asked skaggs for a oil delivery but they said no. The lady Lucy hung up on me when she knew I got oil somewhere else, and put my account in collection. The owner is very nasty. Skaggs walsh is over priced with everything. Over charge on oil by a dollar a gallon. Sad. Petro oil for me now

They have been excellent and I have no complaints. I would recommend them.

Very professional, thorough work. This happened on Thanksgiving day and they did send someone within a few hours of our call.

They are 24 hour service. They are very responsive, and always get back to me. They have a good billing program, and do exactly what I ask them to do. They have a great program overall.

It is included with the oil contract. It's difficult to schedule when I'm available.

They were more expensive by close to $0.90 per gallon (ninety cents per gallon). Even considering the NY state biofuel rebate, they were about 50-70 cents more expensive. I locked in $1.89 per gallon with another provider. With the 20-cent per gallon biofuel rebate, my effective price will be $1.69 per gallon. Maintenance will also be free in the coming year. Overall, everyone was very nice at Skaggs & Walsh except when I brought up price and Donna tried to bully me. She said the others were selling waste oil and they would have bad records on BBB. Via Angie's list, I found another provider with a comparable rating. I gave them an opportunity to retain the business but I did not feel that they treated me very well, considering that they were charging me an arm and a leg.

Although i had an issue with a representative the owner was courteous and professional in helping resolve matters turning it into a great experience I would highly recommend Skaggs Walsh

Had some concerns and sent a letter, received a callback from the president of the company. She was lovely and I decided to continue to do business with them. Service guys are second to none!

They were very good. I just happened to get cheaper service and at a lower cost. If it's air conditioning service you have your choice of contract that each of the contract varies in price but it varies in what you are entitled to.

Went fine, Been using them for more than 5 years. They are very professional, and respond promptly to emergencies, keep to their appointments and their service men can often fix any problems on first visit and almost always by the second

They're very good. They've been excellent. The price of the heating oil right now is high, but that's for every company. They come out immediately, 24/7, so I've been very pleased with them.

Scheduled delivery, also have a service contract with them which I have yet to use.

from the beginning service was great from the phone to in person. no pressure they do not harass. very smooth process. everytime i need oil they come asap which is something i notice some of the other major companies don't offer. so far everything has been great, just referred my brother so now i' waiting for my reward. they r always available 24 hours its great. my only issue is that for the annual tune up ive been waiting for several weeks. i guess they r pretty busy but that's ok cuz my boiler hasn't broken down. but it would have been nice if they had a more freed schedule for those scheduled maint. but overall great. one last gripe is that some companies offer a type of discount on oil if u sign up for let's say ur first year. i don't think they offer that here though.

The last call was for water coming out of the release valve of the boiler. A serviceman was at our house within a few hours of placing the call and the problem was fixed within a half hour at no cost due to the annual contract we have with them.

When my prior company left me with an empty tank, Skaggs came the day I called, filled the tank and checked the boiler. Since then they have been filling the tank on a regular basis. The customer service is wonderful I had some questions about the bills and the people I spoke with were very helpful.

I ended up using skaggs walsh by default, as I recently purchased my home and the previous owner never cancelled her contract. They delivered oil according to her automatic plan without me knowing until I received a delivery receipt. I decided it was easier to sign on with them than go through the hassle of them removing the oil. Once I did contract with them they did give me the first delivery at a reduced price due to the mistake. I had an initial annual inspection done in early december even though I started with them in late october due to hurricane sandy. Boiler was working fine until after tune-up. The firebox was in very poor shape and needed to be replaced. After all soot and debris had been cleaned out during tune-up, boiler constantly needed to be manually reset. I replaced the combustion chamber liner myself once I knew how much the repair would be through company and that it was not covered under my contract. Due to my boiler experience for the NYC Dept of Ed it wasn't a tough job. But once I did that the flame needed to be adjusted again. Everytime except once did I receive prompt, timely response. The only issue I had was calling once on a Sunday evening around 730pm and being told the serviceman would be there "shortly" which ended up being almost 3 and 1/2 hours later, which by that time I fell asleep and didn't hear the doorbell. On 12/26 I called again and the serviceman was the nicest so far. I told him I was having trouble since December 23rd but felt bad calling on xmas eve and day. He told me please call anytime for any problems. He left after making adjustments and changing a part and actually came back a few minutes later to check my thermostat as the part he changed doesn't work with certain thermostats and he wanted to be sure I didn't have that particular model. So far the boiler has worked perfectly, hopefully all the kinks are worked out and this is the last time I have to call them for awhile.

Skaggs-Walsh is not a bad company. Their service is very good. I just think they are way over priced. If I was sticking with oil, I might continue with their service. You probably could find a cheaper price but not sure if the service will be as good. I here stories about them all.

Very annoying experience. I called in the morning and reported a boiler that was not working. I was asked for my address, and told that they could have somebody by later in the day to look at it. When I called back several hours later to check on the status the person who took the call initially had no idea who I was, and wanted my account information (I do not have an account). On further discussion, it emerged that they service only oil-fired equipment, not gas-fired equipment, and apparently they are not accustomed to receiving calls from prospective new customers, just existing accounts. They may do wonderful work at great prices, I really don't know. I just know that whomever answered their phone this morning provided incredibly unhelpful and misleading information.

They are excellent. You can call them if you have a problem and they are here within two hours, which is great in the winter because it's freezing.

I just signed a new contract with them so I will continue to use them.

Greetings I've been a Skaggs-Walsh oil company for a very long time. They have always been on time with the delivery's and prompt when service is needed. I use a fuel oil budget payment plan, I pay $317 a month ($3804 per year). Here is the problem. This week 3/2/11 to be exact I received a call from the oil company stating due to the cold winter and price of fuel your payments will go up to almost $400 a month. And also stated that payment prices are subject to change. For the life of me I can't find that clause any were. I'm not saying I will not pay my bill but the reason for budget plans is to make things little easier, and this will hurt. So three more things. This company took over my old company (Phoenix) many years ago so you can say this company has been heating my home for 46 years. I think this is a terrible way to run a business and I think a little illegal too. It will be shame leaving this company and would highly recommend that you look else were for a oil company.
