Peter Michelman

The experience with peter was great! There were some minute details that I wanted corrected and he was happy to do it. He was very polite and responsive when I needed to contact him. Peter had keys to my home while I was away and there were no problems. The plaster looks great. Overall it took a little longer than expected, but the results were beautiful. I am very pleased with the details. I had gotten bids from many contractors and Peter's price was right in the middle. Would use him again!

Peter was very pleasant and professional, both during the estimate process, and also during the actual work. I never felt as though he was hurrying, he always took his time to answer all of my questions in detail. His crew was punctual, and hard working. They worked through the day and stayed late to complete the work in one day. There was a delay with the actual start date, not because of Peter, but because of things on my end and Peter was very accommodating during that process, and worked to fit me into a revised schedule, which he did. Based on my experience I would unhesitatingly recommend Peter's services.

We had some minor cracks in our plaster ceiling and walls. Peter dug out the bottom layer of plaster, refilled and scraped it in three sessions, and sponged off the access by our requested date. Peter was very professional throughout, and we would be happy to recommend him again.

The project was completed within my timeline and I was happy with the overall job he performed.

I could not be happier with the job Peter Michelman and his employees did. From the earliest part of the interaction, Peter was very professional. He arrived promptly for the estimate, gave me some input regarding different kinds of paints to use, why he would use one versus another. He also pointed me to a retailer where I could obtain the paints at a cost savings to me. This work needed to be done due to water damage, and I was very intent on getting the house back in a livable condition as soon as possible. Peter was very sympathetic to this and very flexible with his scheduling, even offering to come on a weekend to do the work, since his weekdays were fully booked. Peter and his crew showed up when they said they would, and worked diligently throughout the day to complete the work. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up, and my walls, ceiling, and doors looked great. I would unhesitatingly use Peter Michelman again for any future painting needs I might have.

He wasn't the low bidder. He was $700 more than the next guy. I got two quotes and went with a different company altogether because I needed the work done right away. He came and looked a couple of days later and gave me a shorter version of an estimate than the other guy that gave me an estimate. Mr. Michelman does the work himself and he was much more casual than the other company. I told both companies exactly what I wanted and answered questions. I showed them the caveats because there was a little bit of construction that needed to be done. He just gave me a number and the other company showed me that they were insured. He was the first one that came and his responsiveness was pretty good. I got the estimate from the second guy before I got his estimate so that prompted me to call him to get his estimate. He did come when he said he was going to come. He was a one-man operation. I was happy with what I got from both of them. He had a different approach than the other guy and just gave me a number.

Peter returned my call promptly and came to see the job within a day. His estimate was slightly lower than others I had gotten, but they were all within a couple hundred dollars. He clearly knew what he was doing, because he noticed details that other painters hadn't, and had solutions. He is direct and to the point, very likeable and professional. He started and finished the job exactly as he had estimated, and worked very carefully. It looks beautiful! His clean-up was impeccable. I will definately use his services again. Thanks Peter!

He was very careful and meticulous. He worked extremely slowly. He came late to work. We were little disappointed in that way. I would probably not use him in the future.

Excellent experience. This was a big project - I priced it out with multiple painters and then reviwed the painters scores on Angie's List. Peter's price was not the lowest but in the bottom three quotes and he had/has the best reputation on Angie's List. This was a big and dirty/dusty job and it helped that the house was empty. Peter removed the popcorn ceiling for the hole house. He then retaped the seams, corners, and applied a "skim coat" of drywall mud on the ceiling he then painted the whole ceiling. He is meticulous with his painting and the finished job looks fantastic. The entire project took 2 weeks to complete.

See above. They were also flexible in timing, so that they worked around the floor refinisher's time frame, as well as the new incoming tenant.

Great work. As scheduled, excellent job. Peter painted this house before when my parents owned it and several of my friends houses. Everyone was very pleased. Peter was not the least expensive estimate, but based on other's experiences the little extra cost was well worth it. He is not an early bird. Generally they worked from about 10:00 in the morning to about 6:00. Peter is a great guy and the job was well done with no problems. Overall a great experience. And he listens to NPR!

Pete and his contractors did a great job. They really worked hard to make things look great, and were very flexible about the additional work. In general, Pete tried to help solve problems beyond the painting, and arranged for people to take care of some miscellaneous work. He got the work done as promised, was very fair about pricing the extras, and always followed up regarding the work. I definitely recommend him.

We are very pleased (thrilled) with the quality of work and the attention to detail. I had never seen a painter sand the ceiling to guarantee a smooth finish. Every switch plate was removed. The preparation was excellent. We had a variety of colors of walls and trim. We used Benjamin Moore and used the new high end paint in the bath and kitchen for it is touted as handling moisture well. Peter and his assistants were great with roller and brush. Excellent clean-up. Responsive to phone calls, gave great references, price was fair. We would highly recommend Peter and plan on having him back to do another area of the house.
