I called the Rooter Man office and asked about their service. A very friendly woman walked me through what the problem I had was and then asked when I would like the service scheduled. I told her now! She checked her schedule and told me she could have a plumber at my house in about 3 hours. Three hours later the Rooter Man plumber showed up right on time. The Rooter Man plumber Gary cleaned out a clogged drain at my home after a detailed estimate written on the spot. Gary went about his work in a quick efficient manner and after about two hours all was back to normal. Gary also cleaned up after himself and disinfected the basement floor all around his work area. The estimate proved out to be right on and the final cost less than expected. Rooter Man is highly recommended.

Tim was very knowledgeable, timely, friendly and professional. But we felt that their estimate of $786 seemed very expensive for only a small project. We moved forward with a different plumber who did a great job and completed the project for $290.

We always appreciate feedback. There's was a number of things that had to be done because there was not a dish washer in place or any plumbing or drain for a dishwasher all of that had to be done. This was reason for quoted price.

Terrible. I asked them to come out to disconnect my plumbing in prep for a granite installation in my kitchen. They have excellent ratings on Angie's List, so I called. They would not give me a price over the phone, but based on the Angie's List ratings I scheduled a time anyway for today as the granite arrives this evening. The quoted $650 to disconnect and re-connect the sink plumbing!!! That is 2-3 times what 3 other plumbers quoted over the phone. The job does not require any additional pipe moving to accommodate the new sink. The technician who came to the house said that this was the price "already in the book" to do this type of work and he wasn't allowed to change the price. I called the main office and spoke to the woman who schedules appointments, who was very nice and professional, to tell my story, and she was not empowered to do anything. She called the "boss" who agreed to come down in price from $650 to $575. This is no more than a $300 job. i felt like they were deceitful, and will never call them again. Stay away unless you can get a price range over the phone...when they are onsite and tell you the price don't feel like you need to accept it.

Sometimes a customers expectations about what is entailed in a job can be different than what we actually determine the job to be. This was a bigger project than just removing and replacing a faucet and would have taken two visits before and after the counter top installation. Our technician treated [Member name removed] with the same professionalism and respect as all the other customers we service. Please consider the fact that we have had an A rating for 3 years in row ,read our reviews from Angie's List customers, and the fact that we won the very honorable Super Service Award from Angies List for 2011 and 2012.

My serviceman, Tim, was professional and punctual, as he arrived right when the company said he would. He clearly explained all my options, the pricing, answered my questions and completed the job in a timely manner. Tim was very friendly and even gave us a stuffed toy (a super rooter-man) for my 2 year-old son. My only complaint was that the installed hot/cold water faucet handles were not completely aligned; in other words, when both handles are pointed down in the off position at a 90 degree angle, the hot water faucet handle is slightly less than at a 90 degree angle. Since it is only slightly off and only visibly noticeable if you're looking right at it, it is not that big of a deal, but it is also not the type of attention to detail that I would have preferred. Overall, I was satisfied with the work and service and would recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

Tim from Rooter-Man came to our house and got to work fixing a leaky pipe for our tub drain.. He was friendly, capable, and very courteous. He even gave my daughter a little superman doll that she has been carrying around ever since. The price for the work was kinda steep, but I don't think the prices are Tim's call. He just does the job, and he did an excellent job. I'd hire Rooter man again in a heartbeat.

We had way in our basement and suggested ways to dry it out. He was prompt and explained what to do in the future. Hurricane Irene affected many people and he made time for us. We don't usually see that much water at once. Thankfully it hasn't happened again and we are prepared if it does.

Rooter-Man was excellent! My water tank leaked into my neighbors home. When I called to make an appointment, they were friendly and had me scheduled for 10am the very next morning. I had some questions about continued leakage/water use and they had the plumber Tim call me and talk me through exactly what I needed to do until they got there the next morning, to minimize any further damage. The next morning, they called and asked if they could come early because of a cancellation, which was great! They were professional upon arrival, punctual, and gave me an up front estimate after inspecting the problem. Tim, the plumber, was patient (my home has a unforgiving set-up for the appliances and the drain was clogged with mineral deposit, so he had to think outside of the box to figure out how to even drain the old tank) and worked until the job was done. He and Gary were both pleasant, professional, and helpful. I would recommend this company to anyone, especially for their quick response, professionalism, and extensive knowledge of the trade. A+++

I called expecting to make an appointment for the following week, but they said they could send someone over right away. Marty arrived 20 minutes later. He was very polite and professional. The snake and toilet fix took about 90 minutes. He cleaned up before he left. Overall, it was a great experience. The price wasn't fantastic, but the speed and quality of the work made it worth it.

While I have no complaints about the service - but did Rooter-Man solve the problem or did the City? Or was it a combo of the two? Just as a side point - the city workers were VERY impressed with Rooter-Man's equipment and that reason alone would make me decide to use Rooter-Man's services again. UPDATE Everything is now working perfectly but we have one more step to go to insure this doesn't happen again. We need to have a "saddle" installed where our line meets the common line which will be another $1,600 approx. My husband was seriously impressed with everyone's professionalism, attention to detail and overall compassion with our predicament. I can honestly say that we will not use anyone else for our plumbing needs in the future.
Description of Work: After a torrential rain our basement flooded. We pumped the water out ourselves but we continued to have problems. Suspecting a blockage we called Rooter-Man. David came on time and explained the cost and process clearly. This is where the review gets strange. He snaked the line and removed some stuff ...apparently someone in the neighborhood has been flushing things they shouldn't and somehow it backed into my line. He then ran into a blockage that he couldn't get around so he sent down the camera which couldn't identify the problem either. Our neighborhood is very old and the sewer/water lines are confusing. We were running into a gray area as to whether the issue was a home owner's problem or the city's. This concerned him so he called our city's Department of Public Utilities. Several city trucks arrived, checked it out and then said they'd be back in the morning to jet a nearby line. The city never told us if they did, in fact, jet that other line and my phone calls have not been returned. In any case, my drains were working fine within 24 hours. He has called us several times since then just to check up on us and make sure things are still OK. UPDATE A week later our (and Rooter-man's) worst fears were realized and the flooding began again. Given the weather, Rooter-man got here as soon as they could and we ended up having to put in a whole new line. I won't bore everyone with the details but it involved a large amt of a neighbor's tree roots in the "common line"

Tim M. arrived within the specified time frame. After I explained what was wrong, he inspected the specific areas and wrote me an estimate of cost of repairs. He was very friendly and informative. Explained what he was doing. He went over the repairs and how the new faucet worked and fully explained what his business offered. In addition, he went over with me the plumbing in the basement and shut off valves. Very good service. I wasn't expecting the cost of replacing the outside faucet, but I haven't needed to hire a plumber before.

After opening the valve to send water to an outside spigot I found water coming out of my wall, both inside and out. Even 'tho it was after normal business hours I called Rooterman 911 after reading reviews on Angie's List. The owner returned my call within an hour and set up an appointment for the next morning. The Service Specialist arrived promptly. He looked at the walls, told me how much it would cost to open the wall and see the pipe. After neatly opening the wall, he found the problem. He gave me a couple of choices about fixing it. He did the work quickly. He also explained how to prevent the problem from happening when I close the valve next Fall. I feel the charges were reasonable.

It was a great experience and would recommend this company to others.
Description of Work: Tim was dispatched the day following our call and he arived on time and was very professional. He explained all options and made the required repairs. The fixture started to leak a few days later and Tim returned the following morning and fixed it at no charge, after explaining and demonstrating that one of the installed parts was simply defective. We would certainly refer this compnay to anyone who needed plumbing or sewer line blockage repairs.

I was lucky I didn't have to much standing water in the pipes so the scope worked. I saw the problem spot and he cleared it for me. Also he provided me with a new drain cover so dangerous gases wouldn't escape into the house.
Description of Work: I have an old sewer pipe that empties into the Town of Niskayuna water main. Tree roots have been a problem for as long as I've lived in the house (10yrs house is 80yrs old). I was told to have a scope of the pipe to see what the problem was, I was getting back ups into my cellar every 6 mos and tree roots don't grow that fast to clog the pipes, providing that you have them all removed when you call a plummer. Dave was very professional, explained to me the pros and cons of having the pipes scoped, what it may or may not find and solutions to what the problems might be. He also provided me with information on prevention. I'm glad I spent the money instead of going to another plummer who has an ordinary sized drill. I was able to see the pipes before and after the job was done. I got a detailed receipt listing where the problems are in my sewer line.

I was very pleased with the service. For larger jobs I would call this provider again. For smaller jobs, the $50 out-of-service-area fee would prevent me from calling Rooter-man. I wish they would expand their service area one-mile to reach my house.
Description of Work: We had been experiencing a glug-glug sound in our plumbing over a two-week period. The fixtures towards the end of the line began to back up. We suspected a root problem in the main sewer line. We had the same problem about 20 years ago. We contacted Rooter-man in Clifton Park at 8:15 a.m. We are just outside of Rooter-Man's service area, which ends to the north in Lake George, but even with the extra $50 charge for out of service area, their rates seemed to be better than other drain cleaning services.Gary H. arrived at 9:15 and by 10 a.m. he had snaked the main line, which took care of the problem. Gary was able to identify the problem shrubs based on the resistance they provided when he cut through them. He was very professional and more concerned about tracking dirt into my house than I was. He offered to dig through a pile of snow and frozen earth to reach a cleanout in the yard to avoid having to track dirt through the house to get to the basement cleanout. I had to ensure him I had no problem with a little dirt on the floor. The normal $49 service call was waived, not all plumbers do this. The charge for clearing the line was $334.00 plus the out-or-area fee. I was able to use a $20-off coupon I found on the company's website.

Description of Work: I never had a sewer backup before, and I was glad that they responded so quickly. Their serviceman arrived within an hour. He cleaned out the trap in our house which was clogged and ran a camera down the sewer line to the street and saw no issues. The serviceman also provided some powder to put down my drains to promote the growth of good bacteria that eats the pipe slime and keeps them clear.

I was very impressed with this companies customer service. I am guessing the person who owns this company knows how to run a business. Gary was professional, the person answering the phone was professional, and they even called after the service was complete. In addition, they sent a post card thanking us for our business, and included a 10.00 discount off next call. Besides all of this, after Gary was finished he handed us a bag of candy. "how sweet"? :-) Great company, great service and great employees. Will definitely call again if I have any issues.

Lived in house for almost 2 years. Never had a plumbing problem until a few days ago. Water overflowing in basement toilet. Water coming from every room in the house that water is used. We tried snaking out the traps ourselves by renting power snakes, but could not clear clog completely. Called a couple of plumbers, but could not get anyone to respond as fast as Rooter-Man did.
Description of Work: Called Rooter-Man approx. 9am on 3/13/3, told the dispatcher Tammie our problem of compete household clog and water overflow through basement toilet. Was told that someone would be at our home by 10:30am. Gary arrived at 10:29am and cleared main trap for sewage drainage out to street over 70 feet, successfully clearing blockage. Completed cleaned up after completng job, explained in detail what was done. Said he would return if we experienced any clogs over the next few days at no additional charge. We phoned this company because of the quality Angie's reviews and weren't disappointed! They were at my house within hours of my wife's phone call. The plumber was very honest with us and as it turned out we didn't even need any service. We could have easily been convinced to do something and we really appreciate the honesty. They even brought us a little gift for our 2 year-old and a bag of candy for me! I couldn't be happier with Rooter-man and won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone that should ask. The fee was also very fair. Thanks guys - great job!!!

Dave, the technician from Rooter-Man, arrived a few minutes early. I was still clearing snow from the driveway so I could move my car out of the garage to give him room. Without my asking, Dave picked up a shovel and helped! Once the car was out of the way, he got to work. He fed the camera through the pipe and began the inspection, then began snaking. The accumulation in the pipe was so bad that it damaged his drill. He called the company to request a replacement, and while he was waiting he cleaned up the gunk that had splattered out of the pipe...and didn't charge me for the time it took the second drill to arrive (about 45 minutes). Once he had bored through the blockage, he ran the camera through again and carefully explained to me what he saw. Thankfully, the pipe didn't appear to be damaged. 50+ years of accumulation had almost completely blocked the pipe. It took Dave a long time to punch through that blockage, but once he did, water flowed normally. Everything about my first experience with this company, from calling to schedule the appointment to the work that was performed, was refreshingly pleasant. Dave was courteous and friendly. I will definitely recommend them to friends, and I will most certainly call them again should the need arise.
Description of Work: One of the two lines connecting my home to the sewer system had become obstructed. I had already tried one plumber who did his best but wasn't able to solve the problem. Since the line runs underneath trees and shrubs, he was concerned that roots had broken through the pipe, and I was bracing myself for an expensive repair that would involve digging up the front yard and replacing sections of pipe. I called Rooter-Man to inspect the pipe with a camera and assess the damage.

The initial contact with this company was cordial and very satisfactory. An appointment was made for a few days in the future to accommodate my schedule. However, I received a call offering an appointment later that same day which I readily accepted. Within a half hour two technicians arrived, obtained information as to the problem I was having and then they immediately set to work. They were very efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant, explaining everything they were doing and why they were doing it. The problem was taken care of most satisfactorily, after which the area was cleaned and returned to normal. Since the problem had occurred several times in the past, suggestions were offered as to how it might be avoided in the future; one of which was a material to be used on a regular basis to keep the drain clear. I purchased that and will use it routinely. In the process of clearing this trouble, another problem was noticed---not of any urgency but something that should be taken care of. I was impressed with the service and assistance I experienced and will contact this company to handle that work.

Called Mr Rooter when my toilet would not fill up...It was below zero the night before and I thought maybe a pipe was frozen. When I called I was greeted by Tammi who was professional and super friendly . she said she had a technician nearby and would call me back when he was done with the job he was working on. Within an hour she called back and said Tim would be at my house by 1130am. At 1115am Tim arrived and assessed the job. He saw I had a frozen pipe and explained in detail the cost and what was needed to be done. within 15 mins I had a working toilet and he adjusted my water level accordingly. I was very pleased at the cost..it pays to be a member because I had a coupon.. I would highly recommend Rooter Man. I will use them again for sure.
