I was very displeased with the services of Re-Bath of Albany. The job took over a month to complete, Contractors needed to return five times to complete unfinished work. Re-bath personnel were very unresponsive to phone calls. The work was not done to the specifications agreed to with the sales person. I cannot recommend this company.

They were in and out in one day. The price was more than I really wanted to pay. But everything done in one day was what sold us on them doing it.

First I had to contact them several weeks later after giving them a deposit and signing a contract, to get the install scheduled, instead of them contacting us when the parts came in, like they said they would. Installers were on time, clean and very polite. Love the product. Install looks great. Installers were very easy to work with. Them I would give an A rating to. Buit we did have a leak that ruined the ceiling below because of loose fitting. I called them and and they did get over that night to fix the leak. They also did send somebody out to repair the ceiling the following week. So they took care of the problem. My issue is the manager or company, not sure which it is, never called me back after I talked to him about the issue, I had to call again to find out what was going on several times. Then after the repairs were all done they also never even called to check to see if we were happy with the repair of the ceiling. Just plain old unprofessional.

they installed the bathroom over 3 full days. there were 3 different leaks with the toilet and two different sinks. knobs were not delivered with the bathroom cabinets. Grout in the floor was not done correctly in one spot and the grout buckled. The cabinets were ordered at a higher height than the old cabinets and a full wall mirror was broken during the install. Even though the mirror was replaced at their cost it was 4 weeks before all repairs were completed.

1. A full week before installing the tub/shower surround, I put in a change order for the tower instead of the shelves/soap dish combo originally ordered. The installers had no knowledge of the change. 2. A man from the office brought the tower later the day of the install. While discussing finishing the bathroom sometime in the future, he tried to sell me on a tile floor by saying vinyl would have to be cut. Does he think women don’t know that tile has to be cut? 3. I don’t know why, but one of the installers put in a new U-bend under the tub. I’m sure he meant well, but the pipe was so low, he advised me that when the sheetrock was replaced in the family room ceiling, it would have to be dadoed. 4. Immediately after the crew left, there was a significant leak on the family room floor. One of the men came back. He agreed they had knocked a pipe loose, but said there was nothing he could do about it. It’s not clear to me why he could install a new U-bend, but not fix the leak they caused. The plumber I hired just shook his head. 5. After I moved in and started using the shower, I noticed another, smaller leak on the family room floor. This time it was the tub faucet. My plumber came back and said it looked like they knew there was a problem because they wrapped silicone around the pipe. He fixed it properly and this time said he would be giving the Re-Bath people an earful the next time he ran into them. 6. I started calling it the Death Tub because it is unbelievably slippery. They do have something that feels like sticky sandpaper that can be put on the floor to combat that but, I turned it down because fiberglass showers have never felt that scary and I just figured it was an unnecessary expense. Now I have to use those icky bathtub mats. 7. I stupidly didn’t understand how to work the showerhead and put in a call for help. Thank goodness I remembered to ask my plumber about it because I’m still waiting to hear from Re-Bath. They should pay me $500 for the plumber.
Description of Work: My 40-year old tub/shower developed leaks which we tried to fix through the family room ceiling by adding a new U-bend. That worked, but we saw there were at least two other leaks, so Re-Bath was called.

I went to the local franchise location and discussed my situation with the gentleman that was manning the showroom. He was very polite and patient describing the services that were available. We set up an in-home consultation with this persons uncle (family franchise). He was thorough in his explanation of each step of the process and had a great sales presentation. Unfortunately, the price was much more than I was expecting just to remove and replace the tub and the corresponding plumbing. There were a few things that was said during the in-home by the uncle. In his attempt to secure the sale, he used a tactic by disparaging local contractors in general and playing on fears that if tile were used, they could "vibrate" off the wall due to living on a main road with large trucks going by constantly. After deciding not to use Re-Bath, I had a local reputable contractor (also listed on Angie's List) give me a full bathroom remodel estimate. His overall estimate for labor and all the underlying material was about the same price as is was to replace just the tub with Re-Bath. I would be responsible for buying the finish material and with all that, it was only a few thousand dollars more than having just the tub replaced.
Description of Work: I was in the market to have my bathroom remodeled, but at the very least, have my old bathtub replaced with either a wall surround or ceramic tile.

They arrived to do the work on March 2nd. They were quick to tell us that although they could remove the current tub and install the new walk-in shower, we wouldn't have any doors. Apparently, the wrong doors had been sent by the supplier. We would have to make do with a tension rod and cheap shower curtain liner until the correct doors arrived. They didn't arrive before we had to leave on our planned trip to Florida. So, we made an appointment to have the correct doors installed on April 28th, three days after our return from Florida. I called the week before to confirm that they had the correct doors and they would install them on April 28th. They were to arrive between 8 and 10. By 10:30, on April 28th, we had not heard from Rebath, nor did anyone come. I called the store and was told that we weren't even on the schedule. Needless to say,we were very angry. I was told that they would 'try' to find someone to come and install the doors. Someone did come later that day and tried to install the doors, only to find out that the side rails were too short (this was after they were installed). The technician then left, saying that he was going to pick up the longer rails and return. When he returned, he removed the short rails and installed the new ones. They, too, were too short. I guess that they don't measure before they do the work. I was then told that they would have to order the correct rails and that it would take about a week for them to come in. We drove to Clifton Park to talk to the manager the next day. As soon as we told him who we were, he became very defensive, saying nothing was his fault, and everything was the fault of the supplier. He was going to give me the phone number of the supplier so that I could call them!!!!! I told him that HE is responsible for the business conducted by Rebath, and he is the one responsible for getting the supplier to ship the correct rails to finish the job. He was rude and arrogant, and made a big show of calling the supplier while we were there, and telling them that we were very unhappy. They called us five days later and said that they could install the doors the next day, which they did. Nobody should have to endure this kind of treatment from a supposedly reputable company. They were so unprofessional!!! Would never recommend them to anyone!

Two lovely gentlemen worked from 830 am until 730 pm to remove my tub, walls, plaster boards and wood window moldings. They used water resistant sheet rock and insulated my walls and framed new walls to make a lovely cubby for my new bathtub. The fellas put in new plumbing, including a line for the shower that we never had, as well as new fuxtures, a shower curtain rod, and matching trim for my window. We chose to have the ceiling done as well, as this includes a lifetime warranty as long as we are in our home. I really like the guys who came to do the work, they were so kind, respectful and worked very hard, all day. My only complaint is that we have an old bathroom and mentioned that we would be remodeling the rest of it ourselves over the next week or two. I specifically said that I was fixing the wall right next to the shower as it was falling apart due to years of moisture. This weenend I was replacing part of the wall which was damaged, and needed to be replaced. I found that about 4" of moldy plaster boards was left behind the newly framed wall of my shower. This was very difficult for me to replace while working around my new shower and walls as I didn't want to damage my new shower. I was able to remove the bad wall and replace it with new sheetrock. I called and spoke with a couple of people at rebath today, and since I fixed the wall, there is no real work for them to come back to do, so I asked for a tube of the silicone caulk that was used, so I cam reseal the wall that I had to replace. Everyone was very kind and receptive to the issue I had. I would use rebath again, they did more than I needed, in one day, which was important since we only have one bathroom. I love my new shower, it is gorgeous, and works beautifully. I am looking forward to finishing the rest of my bathroom. The price was a little costly, but I couldn't beat the convenience of one day.

Everything went very well and we love the new updated look of this bathroom. The products they use are good quality names such as the Merillat cabinet and mirror frame, Kohler toilet, Onyx countertop with an inlay sink and Armstrong Alterna flooring. The 2 men who did the work were very professional and did an excellent job. They were in and out in 2 days and cleaned up after each day. We had used them 3 years ago to put in a new bathtub and surrounding walls in this same bathroom. Since we were pleased with that job, we went with them again. They are pricey but we are very happy with the results.
Description of Work: Took out old bathroom cabinet, toilet and tile toothbrush holder, tile soap holder and tile toilet paper holder. Over existing tile they put on wainscoting on all the walls. They also put in a new cabinet with new countertop, mirror, towel ring, exhaust fan and a new toilet. A new floor was put in over the old tile with Armstrong Alterna tile flooring.

Crew arrived in a timely manner ready to work. Both projects were done on consecutive days. Good precautions to keep most of the dust and all of the debris out of the house were taken. Covers were used on the floors. The crew consisted of Jose and Scott - and they do know what they are doing. Both projects were completed as expected. The only glitch was a john that was broken in shipment (not their fault). The john was installed a couple of days later - when it arrived from the warehouse. Original house construction errors were corrected as part of the job without additional cost. The price was a little higher than the competition, however - the quality of the job makes up for it. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for." I would recommend these folks to my family and friends.

The first encounter will be the last encounter and I will make sure I tell as many female friends and coworkers that this is the type of attitude I was presented with. By all means you can share this with this company. It is ridiculous that I would be required to have my husband present for any discussion on any purchases that are being made for our home when he chooses to leave these discussions and negotiations to me.
Description of Work: Received a call on 5/11/2015 @ 1:56 pm from the Clifton Park office by a female representative who asked me if I was married. When I said yes she insisted that my husband needed to be present when they come for an estimate. I asked why and the female stated that he needed to be there. She also stated that because there was a "couple of thousand dollars involved" that he needed to be there. I explained that I am the one that interviews the people doing the product, discuss what I want and then discuss the financials with him at a later time and that this is what he prefers. The female then stated that she would never consider not involving her husband in the meeting. I then told her if that was their policy then I would look elsewhere at which time she discontinued our call.

After having a signed contract for a specific color, style & pattern, we received a call that the color tub we wanted was not available. They pressured us to get a white tub as that was in stock and there would be no waiting. For the price of the job, we did not want a white tub. Back to the showroom we go to change our order, which resulted in another couple weeks wait. On the date of install, the 2 installers showed up and went over the job they were instructed to perform. They worked all day, cleaned up and disposed of all the mess. The job that was done was not the same quality that we were shown in their showroom with the displays. Some of the problems were not the installers fault. They were given the wrong dimensions by the estimator, who happened to be one of the owners. They were responsible for the problems with the joints, corners and plumbing. After waiting the 24 hour wait time for use of the shower, the shower head leaked. After 2 days, the shower head leaked and sprayed all thru the bathroom, over the top of the shower curtain to the bathroom cabinets. I got a wrench to tighten the shower head and slow the leak. The next morning, I called Rebath and spoke to the receptionist; she said someone would get back to us. After 3 days, I went to the showroom and asked why someone had not gotten back to us. She said she would send someone within 1 1/2 hours. Paul showed up within the allotted time and installed a new shower head. My wife asked why no one had ever called to check on the job. He stated that they normally do not call for 5 days on jobs. My wife then asked why no one had gotten back to us when we had called. He was very vague stating that people were probably in and out then. My wife then told Paul that she would like the owners to call and discuss with them the poor customer service we had encountered. We have never received such call nor a call to check to see if there are any other problems. For the price of the job, it was mediocre at best. I even go so far to doubt the lifetime warranty. I also asked about a particular cleaner to use on the tub and was told definitely that I could use it. When they gave us a list of products that are approved, it was on the list of products that you definitely CANNOT use. I cannot stress how disappointed we are with Rebath. They have commercials constantly on tv and appear at all the home shows. Please be aware of their lack of customer service, no return calls when requested and lack of knowledge and facts on their own product.l

Response from ReBath of Albany
I apologize for the problems the [name removed] experienced with there color selections. Rebath did offer a White tub as an option, as with shipping and ordering a new color does take a few weeks. The [name removed] did have to return to the showroom and pick a new color and were very happy with the changes as I waited on them myself (Frank) . We also keep looking for the gray tub they wanted and found one from another dealer. We called them and we were told that we have the gray tub and could come out to install at any time . They responded they like the new selection and will stay with it. And where ok waiting. WE do try to follow up with each install after a few weeks and will work harder to do so, and thank the [name removed] for bringing this to our attention . As for the service Paul came out in the time frame quoted and changed out the shower head resolving the issue.

The man who came to give us an estimate was VERY nice. I really liked him and his professionalism and wanted to go with re-bath as a result. However, the price quote was absolutely outrageous. They wanted $7000 to remove a 36-inch shower insert and replace it with laminate tile sheets. Apparently they don't use actual tile "because actual tiles fail." If they fail so easily then how is it that houses that are over a hundred years old still have their original bathroom tiles in beautiful condition? I couldn't figure out why, after I was already all set to get a quote from him, he sat me down and gave me a sales pitch before giving me a quote. He threw out a lot of buzz words like warranty and insurance coverage etc. That's all well and good, but most contractors have the same or similar protections, and it still doesn't justify a $7000 price for the most basic shower stall package. I found two other licensed and insured contractors in the area who are willing to do more work for $2500-3000, and they also both have A's on Angies list.

We understand that homeowners have many options when selecting a home improvement contractor. Having a solid surface polymer NOT LAMINATE rebath walls are superior to tile in cleaning, are not pours like tile and grout, go from floor to ceiling , installed in a day and come with a life time warranty. Must contractors have a 60 day warranty maybe 12 months, however if fixtures fail are they covered, they are with us. If you fail to seal your grout and a tile falls off is it covered, no grout lines with us to worry about walls are covered for as long as your in the home. The BBB reports must contractors are out of business within 5 years rebath has been in business for over 30 . So if a problem comes up in a year or 2 who do you call will they still be in business is it covered under warranty?? With rebath the answer is yes. We have a showroom, installers that do this everyday, sales staff to come to your home and show you product and services . We don't work out of our truck.

The quote was for $13000. It was okay but both of us felt pushed because they wanted us to approve it the same day. When somebody does that you know you don’t have to do it the same day and my partner kind of felt pressured and right after he left she was very dissatisfied. So we called to cancel it but no one called us back and finally they called us and automatically they dropped the price by $2000. We were still not interested and they offered to do part of it now. We felt very pushed. It was stressful and she was upset that we needed to get back within 3 days. I would not recommend them. I think they do have good product but I do think their price is too high. In the beginning he was very good but when we cancelled he got very nasty. He showed up early and he changed the time and he was here like over 2 hours.

The installers showed up at around 8:00am and went over all the work that they were going to do that day. I thought that was a good starting point so that there would be no misunderstanding as to what was going to be done (or not going to be done). They went over the materials they were going to install to make sure it was what I ordered. The installation went as they said, with no problems. The workmanship was excellent. The installers were courteous and professional. They finished at about 4:00 and did a good job cleaning up.
Description of Work: Re-bath removed the tile and sheet rock from around the tub and replaced it with new sheet rock and tub surround. They put a liner over the existing tub and replaced the tub faucet, shower and shower rod. They also repaired a section of the ceiling damaged by the old leaking tub surround.

When I initially emailed Re-Bath on line I promptly received a call back the next day. Appointment was set up and after meeting with sales person contract was signed. On the day of installation, the installers arrived early and on time, covered my floors with tarps and went to work. Before they began, they explained everything that would be taking place. They went to work and worked non-stop! The installation is beautiful. The installers Jose and George were so professional and knowledgeable! It was a pleasure having them in my home! I would have the back in a minute to do work for me! At the end of the installation which took place in just one day, they went over everything with me and left my home as if no work had taken place. I would recommend them highly. It is costly but well worth it!

What I understood from the salesman's presentation was different from the result. I wanted an enclosed unit with no vertical seams. What I understood was that it would be an enclosed unit... upon completion. I also asked what do I use to clean it with and the salesman said, " just use Windex, that's all you need". When the installation was complete the installers said I had to make a solution of 50% bleach and 50% water and spray the seams every two weeks. WHY? If I didn't, black mold would grow in the seams. REALLY?? If I sprayed and black mold did grow, the company would replace the caulking ONE time. After that, if it happened again, I would be charged around $200. When I called and questioned the business owner as to why I needed the special solution instead of just using "just Windex", he became nasty and questioned whether I cleaned my shower or not. When I asked what that had to do with using the special solution instead of "just Windex", he became nasty again and said if I didn't stop, he would call his lawyer who would then contact me legally. When I called, all I wanted to know was why I wasn't told about having to use the special solution? I know that if I had been told of the possibility of the black mold situation, I would not have gone with this company. I am an older consumer and always believed a person's word was his/her bond. The workmanship of the installers is not the issue. If keeping the shower clean with "just Windex" is not the only option, then when the salesman demonstrated the product, he should have been upfront with ALL the necessary cleaning products instead of saying "just Windex" is all you need. The bottom line, I feel, is that I was lead to believe one thing when, in fact, that was not true. Do I like my shower? Yes and no. Yes, because the installers did a great job (work done in a timely manner, clean-up was neat and tidy) and No, because I feel that all the issues were not disclosed in the presentation and when I questioned why the special solution needed to be used, there should have been a professional response instead of resorting to legal threats.

Response from ReBath of Albany
Our sales staff use an I Pad to show a rebath install. They go through each step of the process, showing how we use a three piece wall system. We make sure to show this step in the home . And the benefit of that system. Also they tell the customer you need to use 50-50 bleach and water to kill any mold that may grow on top of the finial sealant( THERE IS NOTHING ON THE MARKET TO PROVENT THAT) . This is to be used on the rail of the tub and seams. Our installers leave a list with the customer with all approved cleaners. We offer a life time warranty on our product. However it must be maintained by the customer using approved products. We inform customers that we will remove and repair sealant issues if they should occur under warranty as long as the customers have maintained the rebath wall system.

The guy at ReBath of Albany was very excellent and very complimentary. The estimates were high so we didn't go with them but it was an honest place and the guy was very helpful.

They product itself was pretty good, but we had some issues with the workmanship. Things get shaky when you move further away from the core competency of actual bathtub and shower inserts. I had my brother-in-law came over and we had to re-cut molding. The flooring was not laid correctly; we had to have them back and re-lay the vinyl flooring. They originally laid down the vinyl but were not going to attach it at all on top of the previous vinyl. We were worried about a vanity which we had removed and an open spot left in the bathroom. They ended up putting in some other vinyl to fill that gap and laid new flooring over it. There were some drywall issues after they were done. An outside corner that they had put an insert against was not made square when the house was originally built, so when they put the insert in, it ended up bowing that short piece of drywall to the point where there were some cracks in it. The product itself is fantastic. We are happy with the tub and fixtures that we picked out but not pleased with the associated workmanship.
Description of Work: They installed a bathtub and shower insert. They removed and replaced the old insert; they did not simply spray over it. They also did some minor trim and flooring.

The guy came out, looked at the job and got back to us a couple of days later with a quote. We thought that the quote was too high. I thought that the person was excellent and I would call him again for another estimate.

They do what they say. In and out in one day per bath. They didn't even damage my existing wallpaper. Everything looked great when it was finished. I really appreciated how quickly the renovations went considering I'm doing other renovations in my home that are taking forever!
Description of Work: They did two bathrooms for me; converting one tub to a big shower and another replacing a tub. They even installed new sink faucets for me that I purchased separately to match the new tub and shower hardware.
