Computer Answers

NEVER go to Computer Answers. I was happily using Windows 7 but received warnings to use Windows 10 instead. I obediently went to Computer Answers to have Windows 10 installed. After several days waiting, I called and learned that they had wiped my hard drive clean and lost ALL my files. That was years and years of work: research files, articles and books in progress, family photos, etc. I am furious with their incompetence, and I will never go there again. I can never recover all that was lost. Now I have Windows 10 but no files to work on. .

Computer Answers built a new Gateway computer for me in 2013. Since then I have had repeated problems with an error message "This copy of MS office is designed for institutional or corporate use...If this software was not purchased for corporate or institutional use it may be counterfeit...using counterfeit software exposes your computer to increased security risks including viruses...change product key." This has happened several times since I purchased my computer. I initially was told I had a virus and to bring it in to be serviced...then I was told a totally different story by the owner that they purchase the software and install it to save me money. What? I then found out that there is no record in their system of my purchase. All I have is my cancelled check. I initially had the computer installed in my home (for a fee) and was not given a receipt and I forgot to ask for one. They wanted me to bring in the computer every time this error message showed up (eventually MS Office stops working). It is happening again right now. This is the 3rd or 4th time! I need MS Office for my business! I am disabled and cannot disconnect and reconnect the computer and repeatedly bring it to them for the same problem. The owner finally had a tech come to the home and reinstall...but now the problem is happening again. I will NEVER do business with them again. Buyer Beware...be very aware.
