About us

I have cleaned homes in Dutchess and Columbia Counties for 21 years. Many of my homes have been second homes. I do immaculate work because cleaning is a passion and it shows. I am reliable and on time. I will do errands, shop, walk a dog and meet vendors. I also iron and do laundry. I’m sorry, at this time, I don’t clean AirBnB or move-in/move-out.

Even with the unpredictability of Airbnb reservations A Gracious Home always ensured us that we wouldn't lose a reservation, she would always make time for us and turn the house over after guests, even on short notice. A Gracious Home always goes above and beyond for us and as a result we have reached Superhost status on Airbnb with a high average of 5 star ratings. We absolutely could not rent our home with such frequency without the help of A Gracious Home.
Description of Work: We own a 3 bedroom 2 bath home that we rent through Airbnb. We struggled with finding a reliable and flexible person in the area to help us clean between renters. A Gracious Home Housekeeping not only helped us with the cleaning and staging of our home but also helped us make improvements to ensure the best experience for our guests.

Not well. After we spoke, I got the impression that she did want the work. Got angry at me, called me passive aggressive and an *** hole and hung up. Angie stresses in the commercials that all listings are prescreened. What happened with this one? Just for your own sake and the company's reputation please take note. I

The above gentleman was clearly upset with my over the phone bid. I explained that I for the past 19 years give an in person bid. He explained his husband was out of town and would I give a bid over the phone as he felt unsafe with a stranger visiting while he was alone. I gave him an approximate fee. At that point he got upset that it was above the price I charged my two positive reviews here on Angie's List. I explained that those two homes were far smaller than his and he wanted more things done than the other homeowners wanted. He also told me he had two Rottweiler dogs but to not be afraid of them. After hearing his aggressive displeasure with my approximate bid and hearing of two large dogs I explained this probably was not a good fit. I at no point swore or got nasty with this man. It's not my way. I would not have a pristine company for 19 years if I treated prospective or current homeowners in that manner. I do suggest this genteman not use profanity. It's unbecoming.

Description of Work: Peg has been cleaning our home for the last year or so. She is reliable, thorough, and willing to do (or not do) anything we ask in terms of house cleaning. I cannot express the pleasure of coming home after Peg has performed her magic.
