A Plus Home Inspection

The overall inspection was not only thorough, but an educational experience about home construction and what can go wrong in a home.. The final report broke up the inspection into several categories: from severe/immediate problems down to minor issues worth nothing. I've had a and quot;check markand quot; home inspector in the past , but Adam is a true professional who analyzes everything about the home and prepares you for what to expect as a homeowner. Simply put, if you want a reasonable home inspector who'd you use again - Adam is it.

I used Adam twice during my first home search. The first house had some issues I wasn't willing to contend with and the other I will be closing on soon. I found Adam's knowledge, attention to detail, and communication to be great. By communication I mean, he broke things down and told you about issues or possible issues in a way you can understand and relate to a and quot;how criticaland quot; an issue or potential issue is in relationship to when it should be addressed. Being a first time home buyer, this was great because everything you hear, you might think is a big issue and needs to be done ASAP. He also takes the time to give you a detailed inspection report for your records, not just a check list and pics in a binder. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking to have an inspection done. If he wasn't good, I wouldn't of used him twice.

Overall, the home inspection went better than expected. Adam took pictures of everything, thoroughly described problems that he noticed, and he evaluated every nook and cranny of the house. I was especially impressed by the inspection report. It was detailed, included pictures of the problem, and was very long. I highly recommend!

Adam was very meticulous and detailed. The home he inspected for me was the first one I had put an offer on. His inspection was like a 4-hour crash course in housing construction and maintenance. What I learned was worth every penny and I look at houses differently on showings now. He pointed out dozens of things I hadn't even noticed. By the end of the inspection we had tallied up about $30,000 in repairs that I hadn't seen on during the realtor showings at all. I ended up walking away from that house.

Hired Adam to do a home inspection on my current home.. he was here over four hours and was very thorough from start to finish. I received the completed report within two days and was very pleased overall with him. Would highly recommend him.

We used A Plus 4-5 times last year and the rate was very reasonable for the services performed. I believe we got the recommendation for Adam from Angie's List and that was worth every penny that we paid for Angie's list. Having used two different inspectors for other properties in the past, I can say that Adam is bar none the best home inspector I've ever dealt with. He is extremely thorough, takes the time to go through everything with you, and his reports are very detailed. They are more than just a 'what is wrong with this house' (which IS important when negotiating a purchase), but also as an owner's manual for the home and the maintenance of said property. A Plus arrived on time at each inspection we had, was very corteous to both myself and my wife but also to the realtors and home owners involved. He was able to do an inspection without us there, but he preferred, and I think rightly, that we attend the inspection. He was also very accommodating of my need to document every little detail with my own photos in addition to his own (my photos separate and not part of his work or reporting). He takes a couple hours for the inspection, going through each system and room systematically and appraising us on the condition a little bit during the inspection and then much more thoroughly in his written report. He saved us THOUSANDS in potential headaches in different houses that we didn't purchase (not all because of his reports, of course...), but also gave us a great guide to use as we moved in to the house that we did end up buying. His good humor and easygoing personality really assisted us in this outrageously stressful time in our life. Especially if you are a first time buyer, but even if you are a seasoned pro, I think that getting your pre-purchase home inspection done by A Plus will be one of the best new-house decisions you can make, and I don't say this lightly.

Adam was very thorough and spent a considerable amount of time on our home inspection. The only thing that is keeping me from giving him an A across the board was his misdiagnosis of a drainage problem and damage to the sill plate on the house. We have a drainage guy who, fortunately, told us we did not have a problem and the sill plate is in good condition. If we had someone else look at it, we may have had unnecessary work done. Besides that, however, Adam was very accommodating, very timely in getting us a detailed report and very thorough. I would recommend him again.

He ended up being cheaper than we expected. I like everything about him and he was incredible. I have recommended him to all of my friends. He originally used to do the house and the garage for us and we also had a barn in the property so we told him not to worry about it because we had to pay extra money for it. He said he will look at it and add into the report but won't charge for it. He ended up not charging for it and put it in the report and did the write up and that is just because he is a nice guy. He was very thorough. There is a crawl space next to the basement and he looked at it and rolled his eyes and took his equipment and crawled back under there and took pictures and found a major issue during the inspection and the house had gone really well. It was easy for him to say everything looks good but I ended up saving because there was a sewage pipe under the house and it was pretty important to me. I had concerns as I wanted to move the wash room right up from the basement so he looked at all that for me and anything what I said and he took extra time to look into it and I just thought it wasn't like a just run of the mill inspection. He also listened and was here for five hours looking at things. I was beyond impressed and I thought he was phenomenal. He has a quirky sense of humor.

I got them from Angie's List. I liked the person who came out, he did really good work. The person is really busy, but I just liked the work he did. I liked the report he wrote; it was very specific with all the pictures and everything. The price is good.

Adam Slimack is a true professional whom we engaged to conduct an inspection of our home which we want to put on the market. We obtained his name from Angie's List and we could not be more satisfied with the results. When we contacted Adam originally to discuss engaging him, he provided a thorough explanation of what he would perform, when he would arrive, how long it would take, and what it would cost. He arrived 1 hour early to inspect the exterior of our home. He climbed, crawled, measured and touched everything. Once inside, Adam conducted a very thorough inspection of every nook and cranny of our home. He spent over 3 hours at our home and he checked in with us periodically to explain what he had found and to ensure that we understood exactly what the issue was. He even provided suggestions on how to correct. Upon leaving, Adam summarized his inspection and indicated that we would have a full report within 3 business days. He accepted a personal check and left us with all of our questions answered. Within the promised 3 days, Adam emailed an electronic full-color 48 page Home Inspection Report, complete with pictures and detailed explanations. We asked Adam if he could also provide a hard-copy report and we received it in the mail 2 days later. We have relied on this report to do certain repairs prior to placing our home on the market, as well as to know what we do not have to do to sell it, but is just good to know and to share with a buyer. The report was easy to follow and we will continue to use it as a selling tool with prospective buyers. Adam was polite, well-spoken, and professionally dressed - It was a pleasure to have him perform this service for us and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Adam showed up before we got there. Went the extra mile on every occasion he could. For example he climbed to the roof in driving wind to snap a photo of the chiminy cap because he felt it was a high cost fix. After the inspection he provided an extremely detailed report with color photos, close ups and arrows pointing to exact spots detailed in the photos. For example he wanted me to install a connection between gutters to preserve the roof. He took a picture then photoshopped it to show exactly how he suggested it be done. Additionally he detailed every bit of recommended maintenance The report was extremely clear and easy to understand. He detailed required maintenance, safety issues and anything that does or will need repair including estimated costs. I would recommend A Plus to anyone buying a home .... unless I am selling it, in that case take whoever your agent suggests.

In purchasing a house I did not want to hire a house inspector recommended by the realtor for fear of inspector being unduly influenced. Adam was able to accommodate my tight timeline (3hrs notice). He arrived on time and performed an exhausting inspection in very difficult conditions (way too much clutter). He identified many deficiencies that made me change my mind about the purchase and I backed out of the contract. I am certain his keen observations and frank advise saved me a lot of expense and aggravation.

We've hired Adam for multiple home inspections. He's been nothing but a total professional, and is extremely thorough and ethical about his work. He's also very approachable and easy to work with, and it's obvious that he takes pride in what he does and doing it well. Each time he arrived an hour early to inspect the exterior of the house (which he reviewed with us immediately), and then took us with him as he inspected the interior. He took pages of notes, tons of digital photos, and tested areas we would have overlooked, even down to each electrical outlet. On walking us through each house, he gave detailed explanations of each finding. Instead of a hand written report, Adam sent us typed copies of his report, complete with photos illustrating the areas indicated. In each photo, he added arrows and circles to clarify exactly what issue was discussed. He saved us from two houses that needed more work than we wanted to put in. I absolutely trust Adam's work, and wish we could have hired him to do our latest inspection (he was booked solid, and I understand why).

Adam arrives an hour ahead of time to do an initial survey of the property, the exterior and roof conditions. Then he takes you around the entire property, looking at the foundation, windows, sidewalk, grading, driveway, garage, roof, gutters. Even though I had been to the property twice already, I had not noticed the buckling of the sidewalk - a potentially costly homeowner expense. This is an area of the home we hadn't even considered looking at. Next Adam takes you through the entire interior, making sure there are no plumbing leaks, he checks all of the electrical, the mechanics of the windows etc. He is always looking out for his clients. He has a depth of knowledge about the systems of a house that is quite impressive. He immediately noticed a double tapped circuit on the interior electric box. He checked the basement for leaks and cracks. He made suggestions for repairs, and pointed out areas of concern. No home is perfect, and there were some issues he found that I am asking the seller to remedy before closing. But as importantly I now have a thorough to do list of the jobs to help me care for and maintain the biggest financial investment I will likely ever make. His service is absolutely worth the price! And he's a very nice guy.

Adam was thorough in his work and did a great job overall. He got to the house early to review the outside of the house in the rain. He then walked us around and showed us everything and told us what to do to fix it. We then went inside and he inspected everything! There was not one place where he didn't somehow climb into or move something to see if there were any problems. I very much appreciate his thoroughness, and his detailed report we received the next day was awesome!

He was very professional, thorough, conscientious, and knowledgeable. He made us aware of many additional major, high price problems that we were not aware of. He saved us from buying a "money pit" and a major headache. Afterwards, he e-mailed the report to expedite the process along, and in a timely manner, he provided a full 45 page, bound report with color photos of all the problems he found. Our son had experience with other home inspectors previously who were there just for the money and did not take the initiative to do a thorough inspection which cost him a lot of money after the purchase in repairs not brought to his attention during the inspection. There is no comparison with A Plus Home Inspection. If you want the truth about the condition of a property, we highly recommend A Plus Home inspection--we will use him again.

Arrived one hour early to inspect the outside of the house then caught me up on all of the details once I arrived at the scheduled time. Proceeded to go through each room of the house in an orderly manner and emailed me a highly detailed report the same day.

Mr.Slimack arrived at the house exactly at the time he gave us. He spent an hour outside the home before we got there. He went on the roof of the house and garage, examined the exterior of the house as well as the grounds. When we got to the house, Mr. Slimack and my husband spent another hour outside the house going over what he found and also recommendations on how to fix some of the problems. When we went inside the house Mr. Slimack went over every inch of the house (at least it seemed that way to me). I found that he was very thorough and very professional. He took lots of pictures of things that he saw might be a problem. He spent three hours examining the inside of the house. In the end, we were very pleased with his report. He emailed us his report, as well as a 43 page bound report sent to us by mail.

Mr Slimack arrived one hour to the house before myself to inspect the outside of the house. After i arrived he explained what he saw both pros and cons on the outside of the home. Then continued inside to inspect the house. Great job.

Adam provided an extremely thorough inspection on the house - inside and out. He took tons of photos and commented on everything as we went along, the good, the bad, and the ugly. The next day, as promised, he emailed us a very detailed report (40+ pages!) with photos.

Adam arrived about an hour early just as he stated he would so that he may begin the inspection of the exterior of the home. He pointed out everything as we went along, no matter how minor the problem was. The home we purchased is very old, so we were expecting there to be problems, but without Adam's expertise, there are things that we wouldn't have known to look for. He pointed out that insulation in the basement was installed backwards and there was also powder post beetle damage to wooden beams that seemed to be "covered-up". His report was excellent and we received an e-mail copy as well as a hard copy in the mail within days. He included pictures of problem areas 3 and I especially liked how his report was formatted. Items were listed as either needing immediate attention, items that would need to be repaired in the near future, and etc.. Adam was well worth our time and cost, as he spent a minimum of 4 hours at our property. I would highly recommend A Plus Home Inspection. Adam is courteous, punctual, and very knowledgeable. In the end, we needed some extensive work, but my family felt that it was worth the investment due to the great property and location of the home. Adam's work will definitely help you make a more informed decision on whether or not a property is worth the asking price, especially if major repairs need to be addressed.

When I initially called Adam to make an appointment, it was clear that he takes pride in his work and that he wants you to understand what sets him apart from other home inspectors. He asked me some questions about the property and, upon learning that it is located on an escarpment, he recommended that we have a radon test completed. He recommended a colleague to do the testing. On the day of the home inspection, Adam arrived at the property an hour before we were scheduled to arrive so he could check the roof and other areas where we would not be able to accompany him. When we arrived we were a little put off that he was on his cell phone for 20 minutes. (I think he was giving his schpiel to a prospective client.) However, once he finished his call he was very professional. He explained what he was looking for and what he observed as he went along. All together, he spent about 4 hours inspecting the house and surrounding property! We received his emailed report 2 or 3 days after the inspection and the hard copy arrived in the mail a few days after that. The report was more than 40 pages long and included several digital pictures of the areas being described. The report included recommendations for what needed to be repaired immediatedly as well as suggestions for maintenance. He found just a few minor problems with the property, but the radon test came back very high. We would not have known to do this test if it weren't for his recommendation. We ended up having the seller pay for the cost of mitigating the radon. We were extremely pleased with Adam's work and highly recommend him.
