Despite in line request and a call no one called me back

Doug had just done some recent work to prepare my house for sale (see my review from about a month ago), but then I learned that I needed additional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed in order to to pass the inspection. I contacted Doug late on a Friday afternoon, and by Monday evening he had completed the work I needed! Again, I can't say enough about Doug's responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work. Thank you, Doug!! Highly recommended!!

Doug was fantastic, very responsive and knowledgeable. Took our small jobs despite having larger jobs to get done. He rehung our bedroom door to open from other side of frame which took some doing but he did the work beautifully. He also repaired drywall in the bathroom and hung a double towel rack using his own materials to ensure it was hung correctly. I would highly recommend this company.

Doug is really terrific! From our very first phone conversation to the completion of the work, Doug was extremely responsive and professional from all aspects. He was also able to estimate and perform the work within a week after I first contacted him, which helped greatly with my short timeline. His work is meticulous, and I actually found myself wishing I had more projects for him to help with! I strongly recommend Schultz & Sons for any project, no matter how large or small.

I was concerned about the closet because, although it was a "retrofit", I wanted it to look built-in as if always a part of the room. I knew it would be tricky because of the cathedral ceiling. Doug listened carefully to what I wanted and asked many questions to ensure he understood how I was envisioning the final product. He thinks through and talks through the project in its entirety before starting. He is METICULOUS in his work. When I decided at the last minute to use a closet organizer unit in the closet, Doug took the addition in stride. Our closet is beautiful and we love it. It looks like it has always been there. I really can't say enough good things about Doug. I definitely plan to ask him ot work on other projects in our home.

Doug was a lifesaver! He agreed to take on the work with relatively short notice, fitting us in between projects as much as he could. They were prompt and professional, super responsive, and did quality work for very affordable prices. I want to start out by saying Doug and his sons are very pleasant and their workmanship is good. It became obvious we took a back seat to another customer, whom he referred to as his “bread and butter”, and he withdrew his commitment to do extra work, that we had agreed upon early at the onset of the job. My “finished” basement was left unfinished, doors and window were not trimmed out, like was discussed. Every day they showed up at 9:30 and left at 3:30 with a lunch break, never put in a full days work. The clean up was poor. We had our ceiling painted black (a whole other story), and after sanding, my husband had to go through and clean EVERY board and duct work to clear the white dust from the sanding of the drywall, One wall was completely covered in dust and all walls had to be cleaned before painting, although Doug said he would leave it “paint ready”. There was drywall mud was on the floor and top of the drywall. Doug knew we were having flooring installed the following week, so the floor should have been cleaned of debris, not just swept. I am very happy with the framing and drywall, but UNHAPPY with the “finish”. I felt like I was filling a void in their work schedule so they were readily available to start the job, and the when more work came in, I took a back seat. The last day they rushed through and were gone by noon, when some of my extras could have been fit and more attention to detail could have been given. My husband has some repairs to do as a result of their haste. Also I had to pay additional for materials because of poor estimating.

Great! Doug and his sons did a fantastic job communicating and very responsive to the scope of the project. He was punctual and very clean. We were extremely happy with the work performed and would highly recommend Schultz and Sons Contracting.

After contacting Doug on June 12, he and his son came to my house on the 22nd to look at a few projects I needed done. He said he was busy enough that he doesn’t take every job, but he would be happy to take on mine. His son joked that he would probably end up having to do all the grunt work. Doug told me that he would have a quote back to me in about a week. I waited nearly two weeks before leaving a voice mail and got no response. Two days later on July 5th I sent a text to which he said he was off on July 4th and would work on it over the weekend. It’s been a week and I’ve heard nothing back. I’ve left voice mails and texts with no response. It’s a shame because Doug appears to be a hardworking family man. I immediately felt good about our in-person interaction and was happy to give him my business. I expected to spend a couple thousand dollars. But the lack of follow up and contact has caused me to begin looking at other options. If he had said he was too busy for my work in the beginning, I would have understood as it seems it’s a busy time for all contractors. I would be happy to change my review if I heard back from him, but until then, this is the only recourse I have.

We had Doug Schultz and company replace 2 drywall ceilings. They did a fantastic job. My wife loves the work they did (happy wife, happy life). They were very professional. They started and finished when they said they would and stuck to their estimate. They used drop cloths to protect the carpet and did a good job of cleaning up after the work was completed. I would definitely hire Doug again.

Mr. Schultz reviewed all my options and helped come up with a plan to fix our shower; he replaced a broken tile, removed caulk and added grout where it was needed. Looks much better!

The most helpful part was not the services themselves (although the jobs were done well!) but the expertise and advice offered. I'm a new, first-time homeowner and it was extremely supportive for Doug to discuss with me little things that I wouldn't have otherwise known about my home. He's looking out for the customer and their properties.

Doug and his son did a fantastic job. They were incredibly responsive, professional, clean and did a quality work under less than ideal circumstances. I would highly recommend them for work on your old or not so old house. Doug and Jerin are very trustworthy and just a pleasure to be around. Its not every contractor that shares their lunch with your cat!

Excellent! Another contractor wanted to rebuild it - would have cost us double the price. Doug is very personable and nice to work with. The work was done very efficiently, well organized and was done without any intrusion. He has a lot of integrity and earned our trust! We will be using his services in the future and recommend him to our friends.

Can't say enough good things about Schultz and Sons. Because of the big windstorm in March, Churchville and all the surrounding areas had lost power. Called Doug and they were also without power and trying to help others get generators started. Despite all of this going on (and still without power at home) Doug and his son were at my house the next morning replacing torn off shingles with some spare shingles that I had. Temperatures were dropping fast through the morning, so it couldn't have been a pleasant job on the roof. Even in extremely adverse conditions, Schultz and Sons did a great job. Shingles blended in and have been holding well. I really appreciated not having to worry whether the roof would be leaking during the following weeks bad weather. 5 stars for far exceeding expectations and going above and beyond.

Doug and son were a pleasure to have in our home. They kept to schedule and did a nice job. We would use their services again for a variety of home repair or remodel.

Everything was extremely professional right from the point of getting an estimate to finishing the job. Doug provided a detailed estimate for the proposed work and took his time to look at the scope and also suggested many good ideas. All of the work was done on schedule and within budget. We are extremely happy with the end result and would definitely hire him again for all our future projects.

Two hour, two man, job was well done to spec and price. Written and itemized bill was paid by check at time of service. Work was well appreciated. Only negative was it took 3 weeks from estimate until job visit. Also was scheduled at 8:30pm only after a prior job got cancelled. Spreading fixed visit cost for such a small job was understandable. I would not expect quick job turnaround time on small jobs. However, I plan on using vendor in future work.

Great! Even working with a very uneven surface, Doug and his son did a beautiful job installing mosaic tiles around our fireplace. They were a total pleasure to work with and we're calling them for some bathroom renovation next! Friendly, reliable, and a great job.

Doug and his son came out to make a quick repair the other day. He was very professional on the phone and in person and he listened as I explained what I needed done. I didn't ask for a price ahead of time but the total cost of the repair seemed reasonable. While on the roof, Doug inspected it for possible problem spots and secured a couple pieces of fascia that were loose in addition to re-attaching the piece that had been blown off. He gave his recommendation on a couple items that need to be addressed in the future and provided pictures so I could see what he was referring to. Although this was a small job, I'll certainly consider Doug for future work I need done around the house.

Doug Schultz was excellent. We had three contractors look at the roof before him and they wanted to do more than what needed to be done. Doug was flexible enough to do exactly what we wanted. The leak was severe and was causing damage. When he looked at it he knew where it was leaking and how to properly fix it; his many years of experience was apparent compared to the other contractors we had look at the roof. Due to the severity of the leak he got us into his schedule within days. This quick response time saved us from having to gut and remodel the room. Doug documented the whole process with pictures to show us the damage that was done before it was fixed to ensure us that the leaks were fixed.
