We had half of our roof and 2 skylights replaced back in 2011 by Ridgeview Roofing. They were very professional and the job was well done but after 7 years noticed a few leaks. It wasn't a dripping leak so we ignored it but now leaks are at several spots and it requires bucket to be placed on the floor. The job was quoted with a 10-year warranty so I decided to give him a call finally before the warranty runs out. Called them a few times but they don't pick up so left them a couple of voice mails. As you guessed all the calls were ignored. Despite the leak, I would've given them 4 stars on the job done but giving them 1 star for no after service and for not responding. There is no effort by this company to back up their warranty. Bottom line, I would not recommend this company especially if you are installing the skylight. We went with a company that gave us a medium price range. Go for the cheapest or the highest quote. At least you wouldn't expect much if you went with the cheapest quote. I would go with a bigger respectable company who can back up their work.

You need to get in touch with the skylight manufacturer Supreme. The welds are cracked in the copper flashing. Its a manufacturers defect. There's nothing I can do until you start the warranty process.

Ridgeview was very tidy and removed all debris from worksite quickly and neatly. Job length was approximately 3 days.
Description of Work: Ridgeview Roofing removed the existing 20 yr old roof and replaced with 15# felt and GAF Timberline roofing. They did not need to replace the existing sheathing; however they needed to replace the flat roof over a 2nd story bay window-bumpout. Put in water/iceshield in eaves and valleys. Installed new aluminium flashing along walls and chimney as needed.

Ridgeview Roofing, recommended to me by my brother-in-law, did a superb job installing new shingles and a few replacement pieces of plywood. They were timely in coming to our home and providing an estimate and just as timely when it came to replacing the roof section. The owner of Ridgeview Roofing and his crew were all a pleasure to work with. The shingles were a near-exact match for the other sections of roof that didn't need replacing. But, more importantly, the entire installation process was professional and the end result is as good-looking as anyone could expect. It rained heavily the next day ... a good test of a new roof! ... and there no leaks that I could detect. When they were all finished, our property around the area where they worked was spotless. They were neat and clean while working and just as fastidious when cleaning up after the fact. If and when the rest of our roof might need replacing, I now know who to turn to. Highly recommended!

I was not an Angie's List member at the time of the service but felt I should comment on the company and the work provided. Jim was knowledgeable and professional. He helped us choose a color and design which would best enhanced our siding. We went with his advice and couldn't have been happier with the choice. Jim was prompt and managed the workers and the job to our satisfaction. Our property was kept clean as well as our landscaping undamaged. We have been very pleased with the work provided by Jim of Ridgeview Roofing and give high recommendations.

Garage roof was leaking and received three bids. Ridgewood Roofing was in the middle. I felt very comfortable with the way owner, Jim Nonenmacher presented himself. He was very knowledgeable, plus he had done a job down the street (I contacted the owner and she was very satisfied). I decided on his company, gave him a small down payment and picked a date for the repair. They did a very professional job and cleaned up nicely afterwards.

This is a post-Hurricane Sandy update to my earlier review. The storm tore off a flat (sheet) roof from an outbuilding on my property. Readers should note that this roof had not been replaced when Ridgeview Roofing did the original job on my property. Jim had recommended that this roof be replaced when he did my house and garage back in June; I tried to save a few bucks by not doing the work when Jim suggested it, and I paid the price. Sandy peeled off the old roof like it was a bed sheet. I secured it as best as I could, then called Jim because of the high-quality work he did for me on my house over the summer; I never even considered calling anyone else. As you can imagine, roofers were incredibly busy after the storm. Jim ascertained that there was no immediate threat of additional property damage, then gave me a realistic timeframe as to when he could come to install the new roof. Of note, Jim had kept the original specs and estimate from the work he'd done on my home over the summer, so he was able to provide a quick and accurate estimate for this repair. He (along with the same crew that had worked on my house back in June) came on the day he said he would; properly installed the new roof and drip guards; and cleaned up the job site. He even cleaned out my gutters while he was up there. Altogether, another great, quality job from Ridgeview Roofing! It is worth noting that the new roof Jim installed on my house and garage in June came through the storm without so much as a shingle coming loose! Great work!

After I bought a 90 year old house last year, I found out that the old wood shingle roof was leaking and decided to get a new roof. I called several roofers to get estimates and got Jim's contact information from another roofer who did not want to do the dirty job. He came to my house and climbed up the roof for a complete checkup before giving me the quote. His quote was the cheapest and I decided to choose him because he was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to answer my questions/concerns about the job. They spent 5 days on the job where Jim himself worked with the crew the entire first day. They did a pretty good job and I have not noticed any issues after the replacement up to this point.

I contacted Ridgeview at the recommendation of my brother-in-law, who had his roof done by them several years ago. Jim, the owner, provided an initial estimate promptly. I changed the job specifications and asked Jim and re-estimate the job a couple of times. Jim was pretty prompt in responding to re-estimate requests and changes in specifications for the job. He always responded professionally, courteously, and as quickly as he could. Jim made suggestions as to roofing styles and colors. I decided to take his advice and the end result looks fantastic! We had some challenges scheduling the work (either he was busy, or I was!) but when we agreed on a start date he showed up right on time. Because of the unseasonably high heat and humidity his crew had to quit early, so a 1-day job stretched to 2 days. But I can hardly blame him for wanting to protect his workers. His crew was courteous and worked with great care. They took pride in their work and they cleaned up the job site nicely. They took care of last minute requests promptly and without complaint. I asked Jim to come back a few days after the job was done to take care of some minor issues. He came back as quickly as he could and handled my requests personally, and did not leave until I was satisfied. Altogether a great job and a great experience. I am pleased to recommend Ridgeview Roofing. Great value for the money spent!

I'm not sure why they waited 10 years to post a review. There was an issue with the chimney still leaking after we did the roof, ended up being the siding next to the chimney not the roof. That was 10 years ago, haven't heard from them since. I don't get it!

Friendly affable person but unprofessional and disorganized. Did not plan ahead for the skylights, even though replacement was discussed before the work actually started. Very, very sloppy conditions while work was being done--did not sweep up after working on skylights, junk everywhere, the men working for our general contractor swept up after the roofer every day. The most distressing and costly, for us, was the complete lack of a sense of responsiblity that lead to a devastating leak in a skylight that had not been installed properly. One skylight could not be completed because he had not ordered the proper part to seal it shut--he went ahead and replaced the skylight anyway but left an opening where the seal should have been. He did not cover the skylight with a tarp or otherwise secure the skylight from rain. That night and the next morning it poured, and our general contractor discovered the kitchen area completely flooded due to the skylight leak which was like Niagara Falls. Our beautiful wood floor is now warped and discolored. The roofer could not be reached despite multiple calls from me and the general contractor who is doing our renovations. The general contracter and our landscaper found a tarp and covered the skylight--the roofer did not show up until later. I called repeatedly to try to reach him, but he would not answer any of my calls. He never even apologized. The only time he called was to inform me that I owed him some money, $472! In fact he was very attentive to getting paid and seemed really focused on that throughout, not on the quality of his work. He should think about the consequences of his actions. I considered taking him to court but it is such a hassle and just depressing as we are moving into our new neighborhood. Left a really bad taste. Terrible and really disappointing. And we will have to eventually replace the kitchen floor but cannot afford to do it now.

In response to this member's comments, let me first say there where several contractors working at the house at the same time so there was alot of debris from everone working. The skylights where originally going to be replaced and then due to budget we would see if they could be saved. Ultimatlly we deceided to change them. The skylight in questiopn required a custom flashing to join two skylights together, the supplier told me 3 days, they didn't ship it out for 4 days. The two skylights where completly ice and water shielded in. There are no gutters on the house and the water from the upper roof pouring directly on the skylight was to much and leaked. I got a call in the morning and was there within a half hour and tarped it myself. the roof area these skylights are on is a 4' x 8' ft bump out. Flooded? there was a 1/4 of a roll of paper towels used. The pine floors had huge gaps in the floor and where discolerd from the skylights prior to the small leak. I personally cleaned up after the skylight installation. There where contractors installing floors, ripping out walls and bathrooms at the same time.I only saw her once or twice during the entire job and she never mentioned any of this. I'm also very disapointed. Jim

As outlined above this was a nightmare for any home owner. To fear for your belongings when ever it would rain and the frustration of having a business owner, Jim Nonemacher, completely refuse to correct the problems he created, was extremely difficult to deal with. New Roofs should not leak, especially in three different places. I only hope that our experience and this report will help other home owners to avoid this company.
Description of Work: Complete roof removal and replacement. The home developed leaks immediately and in several places. The home was not leaking at the time of the replacement, only after the new roof was installed. The roofer refused to make repairs or corrections. After a months of leaks and no response from the roofer we hired another company and spent an additional $7200.00 +/- to correct the problems created by Ridgeview roofing. The owner, Jim, refused to honor his guarantee. Unfortunately his lack of action or corrective measures compelled us to sue him for fraud and damages. Case is pending as I write this review.

In response to this report, the leak occured in January of 2011 and was a simple ice dam. When he called I responded immediatly. We had close to 5 feet of snow in that month, there was close to 3 feet of snow on the roof. We installed six feet of ice shield and with that amount of snow it needs to removed from the eaves. There where thousands of roofs leaking in that winter and we shoveled off about 100. There was nothing to correct, if we have another winter with that much snow his roof will leak again.

Jim, the owner, came promptly at the scheduled time. After examining the premises he fully explained the job at hand and his recommendations and spent a lot of time with me answering all of my questions. After receiving other bids, I chose to go with Ridgeview largely based on my confidence and comfort with Jim. The job was done promptly during four work days, as estimated, and Jim was on site at all times along with his crew. They cleaned up every night and upon job completion, leaving no mess at any time. The roof looks 100% great - Jim and his crew are total professionals.

The job went very well. The team was punctual and seemed to do a very good job - after 6 months, have noticed no leaks or problems with the roof. They cleaned up as they worked. My only complaint is that, after a few months, I found some old roofing nails and pieces of old roof as well as other "debris" in the plantings around the foundation. I believe that this would be true of all contractors, but it is annoying.

I like that they were pretty clear about the steps they were going to take to fix the roof so I understood the process. I like that the owner himself came to do the inspection and decided what needed to be done. Their price was in line with the competition. There were certain things that they said they could not finish to my satisfaction; there were issues about how the roof meshed with the siding and they said they couldn?t do anything about that. They said they would have someone hook up the attic fan for me but they never insured that that happened and I was left to find someone on my own. It wasn?t a part of the roofing job but it affected my total experience.

Could not have been better. Jim was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He did exactly what he said he would do and more. When the old shingles were removed he found that one of the boards had rotted and he did not charge me to replace it. The morning that the crew arrived, my garage door had broken. He recommended someone who came first thing the next morning. He did the job over a 3 day period because of the threatening rain. He carted away the debris on a daily basis. I had no dumpster parked on my driveway. I could not have been more pleased.
