Response from Dryer Vent Wizard of NY Metro/North Jersey
Hi, [Member Name Removed]. We're sorry to see this misunderstanding. Dryer Vent Wizard's mission is to provide safety to the communities in which we live and operate. With a lot of pride in our work, we inspect dryers and dryer vents, and let our customers know when there are safety compliance issues or potential risks (like fire hazards). During our inspection of your home, we discovered the foil transition was not up to code and not UL-2158a. Our technician's intent was to let you know, and potentially resolve that code violation. If we did not inform you of the non-compliance, we would not be doing our jobs safely, effectively, or appropriately. It is, as always, your right to forgo the option! But again, we would not be doing our jobs if we did not inform you of these risks and offer our services. For more information on code compliance, please see this article, specifically section m1502.4.3 citing the transition duct: https://codes.iccsafe.org/public/document/IRC2018/chapter-15-exhaust-systems And if you decide you would like this fixed, we're here! We can help.
