Description of Work: Corrected poor repair done by home owner of significant crack in dining room ceiling. Primed repair with sand paint to match existing ceiling texture. Painted dining room and hall ceiling with two coats of paint and painted dining room and hall walls with one coat of paint.

+ 0 moreHe was very good, I liked him a lot as he was very honest and I would have hired him (actually wanted to) but I had to go with IKEA in the end. I did keep his name and information and when I can use John in the future I intend to. He was great.
Description of Work: I was buying a kitchen from IKEA and I needed installation assistance. I received an estimate from this company and I really liked him. IKEA however came through with their own installation.

+ -1 moreHe was excellent. He was prompt. He came exactly when he said he would for the estimate. Then when we signed the contract, he was here exactly when he said. He cleaned up every day. You wouldn't have known he was here from when he left every day. He finished on time. We had absolutely no issues. He was wonderful. I would use him again as soon as I have a need to.

Description of Work: John came to provide an estimate for exterior paint work on three different buildings, with some minor repairs to window trim. He returned my call and made an appointment promptly. He arrived on time. We had a nice chat. (He's a local guy, I'm a local gal.) John's estimate was the lowest of the four we received: about $3500. Two other estimates were close to each other in the range of $6250. A fourth estimate came in at $9000. The three jobs combined are a good bit of work. Although John seemed competent and experienced, we chose another local contractor, who provided written guarantees. Part of this paint job is being re-done for the second time in less than ten years, and we wanted to be sure to have no problem with it. We were moderately concerned that his low price was in fact too low, and that he might be either underestimating the work or underpricing his own services. Although we did not hire John for this project, we felt he was honest and straightforward, and would have no problems contacting him for a future job.

He got back to me right away and came at the agreed-upon time to look the jobs over, but never got back with an estimate as promised. Still, when he originally came and looked over the jobs he was professional and knowledgeable. I might consider contacting him again.

+ -1 moreJohn is EXCELLENT. A very nice guy, very reliable and extremely good at sheetrock and repair work. He shows up within minutes of the agreed time and does a thorough and careful job. He is fast but diligent and takes care of everything, explaining it as he goes. So refreshing to meet someone like this in this area with all the the fly-by-night outfits that don't care. He even took care of a job that I found after he began, that we didn't discuss prior to the work starting, without asking to be paid for it. He is a good human being and highly recommended. His prices are great. John is the person you are looking for.
Description of Work: John covered up some exposed plumbing pipes in the living room and dining room areas with some custom designed sheetrock enclosures as well as repairing some large holes left in the sheetrock when this plumbing was done. There was a relatively large amount of sheetrock and spackle/tape work.

+ -1 moreHe arrived on time for the estimate. Once I had accepted his estimate he returned the very next day to begin the work. He was on time, thorough, organized and neat. He explained everything he had to do and any extras he may need to address. He returned on three subsequent days to sand and complete the job allowing time between for the area to dry. I thoroughly appreciated his professionalism and his promptness. The only additional monies were for the required insulation. I am having him return to do other work in the very near future.
Description of Work: Ceiling had fallen due to an upstairs leak. He repaired the area, replaced the insulation and sheetrock, taped and spackled both this area and another adjacent area.

+ -1 moreAs previously mentioned, Mr. Bechhoff came to see the job the evening we called. He was extremely polite and complimented our home and the area we live. He made several good suggestions, but listened to what my husband and I said, and the finished work was exactly what was described. He gave us a reasonable estimate, I guess we could have "shopped around" for a cheaper job, but the timeliness and efficiency made it well worth the few extra dollars! We are planning to call Mr. Bechhoff in the spring to replace our deck. It's such a relief when you find a competent, trustworthy person to help with these important projects.
Description of Work: Mr. Bechhoff and his assistants removed and replaced 2 wood overhangs on our front and side doors. He came the same evening my husband called to check on the scope of the project and called us back within 2 days with an estimate. He then set up a time within the next week to do the job. He was able to build new overhangs offsite and brought them to the job with his 2 assistants on the day scheduled. They removed the old rotting structures and installed the new overhangs in one full day. Cleaned up and took away all the debris.

Description of Work: A toilet paper holder hardware was coming out of the sheetrock. He placed a wood between the studs, securing it, spackled and painted the area. I installed the toilet paper holder hardware and no problems since. Excellent job. He also spackled and sanded 2 other areas in my house. Very nice guy.
