David filled in last minute when someone else dropped out. He was quick to come give an estimate and started the job the next business day. His crew worked tirelessly to complete the job and I would 100% recommend them again.

He was so great and cordial...told me he could come and do jobs without a service plan..most won't do that...more importantly..my mom is stubborn and wants to remove her own snow..but now she realizes that after this last two feet of snow storm..she will need a plow...I am so grateful to have found David..if she gives me the ok..David said he will do it for us...i really liked him..he is a nice person and he answered all my questions...i called him because I did no believe the other review...it sounded odd to me...I am buisiness and am no stranger to customers that bend the truth.. My experience was very different...i could not find a plow guy that would plow her unless hecwas her landscaper...David said yes...to me that is priceless..if you knew my mom..lol you would know why...

My experience echoes some of the recent reviews. I loved the service for most of the year. At the end of the year, we needed to communicate with him about a few issues: snow removal, fall clean-up, incorrect bill/not showing up for last service. No calls back despite repeated attempts on our part. I don't get it; we always paid on time and appreciated his work. He was always punctual, professional and now seems to--I don't know what to say. Seemed like a nice guy. I hope he is ok. I feel terrible.

In all my years of dealing with contractors and businesses I have never seen anything quite this bad. I hired David McGovern Landscapes to do my lawn business in the middle of the summer. My weekly lawn cutting was done satisfactorily for a while. However, when I called and emailed multiple times to try to schedule some seeding in the early fall I got no response. NOTHING. And this was after repeated attempts to contact him. I then tried to schedule a fall cleanup. AGAIN, NO RESPONSE to repeated phone calls. I have not heard from him in months. I finally was able to call another landscaper to do my cleanup, which was just completed and we are now in December. This is a terribly unprofessional and unresponsive business. I have never written a review on Angie's List but I feel I have to warn potential customers to AVOID THIS CONTRACTOR at all costs.

First dealings with David were wonderful, was punctual and professional. Price was comparable. Discussed David handling weekly maintenance as well as other areas of landscape care. That was the last time I heard from David. Phone calls no longer returned. Dissappointing.

I called and scheduled an appointment for him to come out and look at the property. He never showed up. I called to see if there was a problem, he did not answer. I left a message, he did not return the call.

So far, so good. David came out the day I called and gave an estimate. He was professional and very pleasant. He has come every week and maintained lawn on huge property. He follows our instructions on how we would like things done. He is always available for questions and all issues, and his staff is pleasant as well. I believe his price may be a bit higher than others for similar work, but I think it's worth it for the security of having someone who works so reliably and professionally. I'm glad I found David

Job was done on time and with care. No hassle, easy to deal with and responsive to customer requests. Estimate that i was given was final cost even extra were done and the cost stayed the same.

David's crew is great. The spring cleanup looks awesome, including all the bed maintenance and edging. Anxious to give David more business.

He did not show up that day. I sent him and email the next day to what had happened, and he has not answered.

I called David on Thursday, left a message and got a call back in about half hour. I told him that I needed the delivery that weekend, knowing that it was short notice I didnt really hold out much hope, but he squeezed me into his schedule and brought me 10 yards of beautiful rich top soil. He came with his Bob Cat and spread the soil out through my back yard. He was a pleasure to do business with and will be calling him again.

As soon as I received the email I called Dave and asked him if he could take care of it. It was cleaned up the very next day and it was a beautiful transformation. After that he had his men check on it and maintained it until I came home. It was a pleasant surprise to see the beautiful job they had done and my neighbors were very happy with the results as well.

I called to get an estimate for yard work (weeding, transplanting, trimming, mulching,etc), left my phone number and nobody called. Why do they post their service if they don't care to do it? UNRELIABLE

He did a good job pushing back the overgrowth. We were satisfied. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

Dave McGovern set up an appointment to view the property and discuss what work I needed to have done, he also made some very good suggestions. He gave me an estimate within 24 hours and once I agreed to get the work done, he arrived promptly on the date we agreed upon. I had a very large fallen tree in the front yard and it was necessary to get the tree removed quickly before the lawn and shrubs it had fallen on were ruined. Dave recognized this and got the work done quickly. I had received estimates from two other companies and Dave's were the best and I selected McGovern landscaping based on the estimate and knowledge of lawn care.

Dave does a good job taking care of my property.

They were professional but I thought the price was way too high; he wanted $2000 for a cleanup. They were very good about explaining where everything would go and how they would do it.

He gave us an estimate of 200.00 to 250.00. Said the job would take between 2 to 3 hrs. Told husband he would do the job the next day, May 20, 2008. It had started to rain that morning so when he didnt show we figured he would call and tell us he was coming another day. No call, just showed up at 8 am. Wednesday morning. He dropped his crew and left. I had Doctors appointment so I also left. I returned at 10:30 am. and they were not there on my return. I thought they had to leave for another job or a break, but thought they were going to return. Do to the fact that there were still leaves in my yard. Left leaves in the bottom of my driveway all along the fence line and did not blow any out of the ivy. No show, No call. Tried to reach him, phone was busy or no answer. He finally called on Friday 23,2008 to arrange pick up of pay. I told him I was not satisfied with the job; he had left a lot of leaves around property. He, had said I got a good deal that the job was already costing him more then what he quoted. He had a full truck of leaves when he thought it would only be a half a truck. Said his crew put in almost 2 and a half hours and they still have to dump the leaves and that will take him another half hour. He then asked me what I thought I should have paid for the job he did. I told him that it was not my job to estimate a spring cleanup, this is not my area. That it was his field of expertise. Then he asked me what other landscapers charged me and then tried to say my husband told him not to get all the leaves. It was ridiculous. My husband called him back and told him to come over today. He told my husband to give him 220.00 and will call it a day. If you want me to finish the job, Ill charge you a hundred for the hour. Then said no, Ill charge you by the hour. Each of my guys gets 35 dollars an hour and there are usually 4 guys on a job. This way, I wont under estimate it. My husband paid him the 220.

Excellent. I kept calling another company for over a week to get someone to give me an estimate. I had heard good things about them. We left messages every day back and forth. It was ridiculous. I finally called Dave. We met later the same day. His crew was back the next day to cut my lawn, then back again to do a thorough clean-up. He was a nice, easy-going guy who grew up in the neighborhood. They did a great job. I plan to use them weekly for my lawn care. He responded right away and got the job done. I'd still be waiting for that other guy to come.

Dave's crews are very good. They take their time with the lawn and everything looks perfect when they are gone. He does not over-charge and he does what he says he will do.
