This job was a total landscape makeover. We recently moved into this house, and it reminded us of The Addam's Family; you couldn't see anything with all the overgrown shrubs and sick trees. Lenny redesigned the entire front, preserving two of the specimen trees, but replacing everything else with appropriate plantings.He did a great job designing with differing heights, colors, and textures of plants, as well as rockscape and mulch beds. They did exactly what they said they'd do, in the timeframe we requested, and at the price we agreed on. He even had his guys do a little extra for us at no charge; they saved some of the pachysandra so I could transplant it. BTW, this was our 2nd job with him. In our previous house, he completely replaced a large retaining wall. Again, they did a splendid job, and even cleaned up the property when it was all done. Who does that???

Excellent experience. We first started working with Autumn Leaf in June 2013 when we needed a complete re-landscaping of our front yard following the removal of numerous old trees. Lenny was wonderful to work with, both in designing the new landscape and in executing the design. He took us around to nurseries to view various tree and shrub options, kept our budget in mind, got the job done on schedule and was always accessible. After the front yard was landscaped, we had him work on the pool area, replacing damaged shrubs and bushes, and generally revitalizing the landscape. We have continued to use Autumn Leaf for fall and spring clean up and weekly seasonal maintenance. Looking forward to this summer as we have other projects in mind!

I scheduled an appointment and met with Lenny and he was on-time and seemed knowledgeable. He walked the site for at least a 1/2 hour and took notes. I gave him a copy of my landscape plans and he was to follow up in a week with recommendations and an estimate. I never heard back from him. I'm not sure what happened! Ultimately, I found someone else to do the work.

Though Autumn Leaf did not ultimately do the project, I very much appreciated the return call. Often I find that receiving a call back is half the battle. It was explained to me that though they would love to help me with the project, they were truly too swamped with work from the Hurricane to take on another project. I really appreciated that and they even offered me a few tips of what I could do myself to help clean up front lawn.

He was very nice. He came over. The only down side was that he wants money upfront before he even does your envision and he applies it to the job that if you don’t like the quote your stuck. I don’t understand his marketing tactic. He wanted us to commit prior to even seeing his actual quote on the total project. I have never heard of such a thing, asking for money for really nothing. He was a very nice man. He is very professional. I have nothings against money.

Lenny and his team are very professional. He has a lot of creative ideas and the crew are great craftsman. I would use them again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality job.

Would absolutely reccomend Autumn Leaf...a very good experience.

We originally used Lenny in May 2010 for a large project involving a new patio, built-in bbq and masonry work. We were so impressed with the beautiful work and the terrific crew that we of course continued working with Lenny for several landscaping projects in the front. This year, we started to use Autumn Leaf for all of our weekly lawn and planter maintenance. His crew is, by far, the absolute best I have ever seen (and we have used several landscaping companies over the years). They always do a perfect job, and they do this job with respect and skill. I would recommend Lenny and Autumn Leaf for any type of project - large or small!

They did a wonderful job. They did a great job. They were amazing to work with from the start. They helped us to pick out everything. They were very responsive. They were a pleasure to work with. The guys were very respectful and kept everything clean. They did an incredible job. They had a good price. We would absolutely use them again.

Based on what the owner of Autumn Leaf left us with, we had mixed feelings. Counting the number of plantings quoted and number received we were short approx. 32 plants. After paying the balance due we had a great deal of trouble reaching the owner (Lenny). E-Mails and Phone calls were not answered. His statement that "WE HAD A YEAR TO REPLACE ANYTHING WE DID NOT LIKE" was basically a falsehood since we were not happy with a few things and as of today 5/10/12 he has declined to respond positively to any of our requests or questions such as.....last summer 2 of his planting (astibles) died and he had agreed to replace them this spring. He denied this. He also agreed to replace rose bushes that were the wrong color which he acknowledged, but will do nothing now. He has our $$$. He also planted annual fountain grass, which he pawned off an perennial. Will not address this at all. He has been contacted several times recently regarding all of the above, and does not answer any of our questions directly and basically has said "I can't help you, and please do not contact me further". "I will no longer respond to you and consider you unreasonable". My reputation as you already know is perfect". How arrogant can you get. We were not asking for much just what he had promised last year at the conclusion of his work. He was hired on the basis of a good Angie's List report. My advise to anyone thinking of hiring Autumn Leaf is DON'T. if you do just make sure he lives up to his quote (contract) and don't pay Len until you are 100% satisfied. Our mistake was the final payment and listening to what we thought was a reputable person. We have since hired another licensed landscaper that has added plantings, mulched, and has made our property look 100% better than it was. Would not hesitate recommending this new knowledgeable and outstanding landscaper. He returns call and communicates. REBUTTAL TO AUTUMN LEAF'S RESPONSE -- A PACK OF LIES . project not completed because replacements needed . 3 out of 8 rose bushes replaced (needed 5 yellow, 3 coral--replacements (yellow) skanky . spruce dying, from spider mites, not from lack of watering . didn't speak on daily basis -- unreachable most of the time and didn't respond to calls and e-mails . mentioned nothing about replacing well maintained plants -- simply stated repeatedly "YOU HAVE A YEAR TO REPLACE ANYTHING YOU DON'T LIKE" . spent 1 to 1-1/2 hours maximum at nursery -- only roses placed aside -- red yellow and coral -- NOT PINK "COLOR NOT AS EXPECTED"???? . Sketch provided after trip to nursery and emphatically told "WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET" -- THAT DID NOT HAPPEN . yes, the color of the roses were different -- he even told us someone at nursery might have switched them . explanation for few plants does not account for EXCESSIVE shortage (32) -- explanation accepted at first then questioned . annuals NOT given as a courtesy -- shown on sketch and were charged -- adds to the number of missing plants . re: replacement of perennials -- promised to replace 2 astilbes that died last summer and were to be replaced this year (notice how he is ignoring this issue) . complained about ONE contractor, please refer to our positive comments for Stonecretes, Toscano Tile, and Franks Carpet SOME E-MAIL COMMUNICATIONS 7/12/11 3:04pm Customer: ----your diagram had many more plants than actually received. Your explanation for this is understandable buy not entirely----rose bushes are blooming pink and we requested coral. Several e-mails sent in 2012 to resolve problems. The following is our final communication...... 5/9/12 2:40pm: Customer - Amazing how you respond to my e-mail. I state facts and you respond with statements that have nothing to do with what I am requesting. Apples and oranges. First, unlike you I will respond directly to your comments. We have kept up with maintenance and hired a thoroughly responsible licensed and honorable landscaper who cut back your roses, maintained and planted additional plants and mulched. He also responds to calls and e-mails. You could learn much from how he conducts business and keeps his promises. If you had been courteous enough to respond to all our calls and e-mails in October we would have hired you to do the fall planting and spring maintenance. Let me remind you once again that it was you who said we should not worry about plants that did not survive, such as the astilbes, which you agreed to replace in the spring (now), and it was YOUR statement that if we were not happy with any of your plantings "WE HAD A YEAR TO REPLACE ANYTHING WE DIDN'T LIKE". Again, what we are requesting is what you promised, replace 5 rose bushes, replace 3 ANNUAL fountain grass with contracted PERENNIALS, and replace 2 dead astilbes. It was really preliminary. There is not much as there was no design involved. Everything was addressed. He was very informative, so far so good. We probably get it designed instead of plain stuff and maybe he could give a better price on it. I had a pretty good experience with him. He was pretty honest. He gave me some leads to the engineers that we need. He is overall pretty good so far. He called us pretty quick. He was on time. He is very professional. There is a possibility of using him in the future. It depends on the price he gives us and we are waiting for more actual quote.

My lawn looks beautiful. They are on auto pilot. I don’t have to do anything; they know what to do which is very nice. They come and they are clean. They will do my spring cleanup and cut bushes when needed. They will do everything.

This was the only company I called. They came out to the house and looked at what needed to be done. Their recommendation was to finish the roofing work before doing the landscaping work. It was just a brainstorming session. They were very helpful and gave me suggestions. However, they were cautious about getting the roof work done before any other work as there was going to be a lot of debris. So, I will be doing the work in the future. My first interaction with them was very favorable and I think I will go back to them again to get some definite numbers.

Absolutely the best contractor we have worked with. Lenny and the workers of Autumn Leaf were extremely professional and experts in their field. Our landscaping and pavers have enhanced the beauty and increased the use of our backyard area. Lenny was from start to finish was honest and easy to work with. His design work was impressive. The ability to see what our pool area would look like before we began was extremely helpful. We have already recommended their work to many of our friends some of who have hired the company as well and were also very happy. We plan on more work in our front yard for next spring.

If I could give a perfect grade to Lenny (owner) and Autumn Leaf Landscape Design, I would without hesitation. From the planning stages of this project, my husband and I were extremely impressed with Lenny. First, he was extremely punctual and respectful of our time. Second, he took the time to carefully listen and decipher what we were both looking for. Third, he designed a beautiful, and well-thought out plan for our entire backyard that we loved from the first time we saw it on the computer screen. He managed to capture everything we wanted. His crew arrived on the exact day Lenny told us they would. And the project proceeded in the exact time frame Lenny laid out to us at the start. The pride and workmanship of every person on the crew was evident from the first hour on the job - and this level of commitment and care continued throughout the entire project. From the larger aspects of the job to the smaller details, everything was done to perfection. Lenny himself was always on site - there was not a single day we did not see him to touch base or ask questions. Lenny went above and beyond any other contractor we have ever worked with; his combination of professionalism, passion for his craft, and knowledge is extremely rare and something that we feel very fortunate to have found. Simply put, Lenny M. and the Autumn Leaf crew are, by a HUGE margin, the best contractors we have ever worked with (and we have worked with many contractors inside and outside of our house). I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe how happy we are with Lenny, his crew, and the beautiful backyard he created for us.

Right from the start we were very impressed by Lenny. We met with four landscapers and Lenny was the one who provided the fastest, most professional estimate. He was thoroughly knowledgeable and provided good advice without trying to sell us things we didn't want. Scheduling was easy, and his team worked very fast. Lenny was on-site every day of work - good supervisor. No surprises on the job, no additional costs. Offered to re-seed portions of back yard after the fence work was completed if necessary at no additional cost. We are so pleased with Lenny and his team's work that we will use him for all our landscaping work in the futuer, and we highly recommend him to all!

Lenny was great. He was ontime, professional and very knowledgable. The work he did for us was creative and finished within the budget & timeframe he initially told us. The curb appeal to our house is beautiful thanks to Autumn Leaf. People walking by ask who did our walkway & driveway all the time and I reccommend Lenny. Thanks a lot Autumn Leaf. A+

Lenny was really easy to talk with. I gave him a rough guess on the size of the driveway, and he did a quick calculation for me of labor and materials, offering a general range from less expensive to more expensive materials. He kinda reminded of those guys you see hosting those DIY Network shows(which I *love* to watch. I wonder if professionals think those people on TV are lame.) No sales pressure, very frank and upfront style. Like the other companies I had called last month, their attitude was like, "If you want us to do this job later, no problem. Whenever you're ready." I'm happy that Angie's List has companies that are good like that. Of course, if I happen to find a house that doesn't need work, well, you know it's easier to go that route....

Lenny came to the house for the estimate and I explained to him my vision for the front and he completely understood what I wanted, made great suggestions and made my vision a reality. Lenny and his crew are very professional and considerate. I will have them back in the spring to do all the plantings.

The guys were great. They had to work under difficult weather conditions - but they were there faithfully until it was done - sometimes working covered in plastic bags. They only time they held up work were days that required cement drying conditions. The bricks were laid two years ago & it still looks like new! My neighbors are still commenting on the improvement!
