+ -1 moreJim is very professional and one time with the project. We are very happy with all the work to date. We had him do concrete work, build a block wall, and install windows - doors and overhead doors.
Description of Work: it was a major remodel of an old building. we are doing project in stages as money allows.

+ 1 moreI called them, but it took them several weeks to get back to us, and then he did come out and looked at the job, but then it took him another couple of weeks, and we had to call him back. He came out after we called him the second time, and then he said he will get back to us with a quote, but he never called, so we called him, and he said that he was too busy to do the job, so we did not use him. I would not use them in the future.
Description of Work: I contacted Land's Home Remedies to have some general contracting done as we wanted to have a double-plate sliding glass door replaced with the one that we had bought, and we wanted that job done with the old one taken out and the new one put in. We also wanted some small regular double-hung windows replaced.

+ 2 moreWe have used Land's Home Remedies before in our own home which is closer to their business address in Cattaraugus, NY. We are so impressed with owner Jim that we asked him to do this job some 40 miles farther away although other contractors are available there. Jim has always made suggestions that either saved us money or made the end result much more attractive or functional so; when we find a good professional to work with, we prefer to stick with him. He's worth the little bit more he costs (not the lowest estimate) and in the end probably costs less.
Description of Work: We remodeled the kitchen in our grandmother's house (c.1968) and needed help in finishing the ceiling and overhead cabinets. Jim (owner) and one helper agreed to finish our half-done project which some contractors might balk at. An over-cabinet soffit had to be removed and rebuilt in another location, wiring moved / added, all sheet-rock hung and finished to meet up to a textured ceiling. Also had extensive water damage to the sun-room where an entire wall was rotted so it was removed and a casement window & sliding door replaced. The opposite wall was repairable which was a savings. The textured vaulted ceiling was stained. The sheet-rock was replaced so we could have a more modern smooth finish as well as look for damage / leaks around the skylights. All surfaces were painted. We painted the wood trim before he installed it, to save a few dollars.Jim installed heating cables outside along the roof edge to mitigate future ice dam, damage.
