Lady Rooter

My grandmother had a clog in her pipes. She called what seemed to be a reputable company. They were advertising 10% for seniors (Wonder Why?) she had flooding in her basement bc of this. They sent a guy named Ramos to do the job. My grandmother was trying to explain her issue but I guess Ramos thought he knew it all. He claimed to have unclogged the pipes. No later than 30 days later the problem happens again. My grandmother has been trying to get in contact with this company but with no success. I guess lady rooter picked up the phone after 9pm one night and my grandmother explained her issue. Then proceeded to tell her that SHE clogged the drain AGAIN! WHAT? After that call there was no follow up and my grandmother cannot use her bathroom or water AT ALL or it goes straight to her basement and floods. She called another company that put the camera in her pipes and said the guy COULD NOT HAVE unclogged the pipe. He did a temporary fix at best and charged my grandmother over $700. We got pictures and video of the other company doing their estimate. There is no way Ramos did any unclogging. If this is how you do business. FINE. But you will give EVERY CENT of my grandmothers money back to her or you will regret it. I promise you that. I will give you 48 hours to rectify this situation and for someone to give my grandmother a call back. It is 10pm on 1/28/21. My grandmother has the same last name and you know who I’m talking about. You got the WRONG PERSON that YOU THOUGHT you could take advantage of.

Lady Rooter sent their plumber "Victor" twice - two separate appointments - but both problems are still mot fixed altho I paid the bills for both service appointments. Left a message on Lady Rooter's answering machine Sunday but no one returned my call. Didn't hear from them Monday morning so I cslled again. They had no record of my S.O.S. call from the previous day. Said they'd have a plumber to me begore the end of the day; then called me at 4 p.m, to say they PROMISED they'd send someone first thing Tuesday. Here it is, 3 p.m. pn the "promised" Tuesday but no plumber. So I call them again just now; they have no recollection of me or my plumbing situation. They tell me the umber is "busy, out on jobs," and I'll just have to eait. My advice: find a plumber who is organized, well staffed and cares about their business - not Lady Rooter.

Lady Rooter was great. Neat, clean, fast, reasonable price. I got an appointment within the week. The plumber called the morning of the appointment, to make sure the time still worked for me. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He had to go to the store for parts but was very quick. He gave me some good advice about replacing my old tub in the future.

I had a clogged sewer line and was unable to use any water. I made the call for service first thing in the morning and within a couple hours, the technician arrived. He was very efficient and professional, got the job done in a reasonable amount of time and gave some suggestions for future prevention. I would not hesitate to recommend the service and would definitely call on them in the future should the need arise.

I had consulted two other "big time" providers who, for various reasons, threw up their hands and said, "we can't do it!" But I found Lady Rooter on Angie's List, talked with Brandy (the "Lady" who coordinates the whole thing). She was candid and informative. Her men arrived promptly and did the work swiftly and professionally. After less than an hour of work, all drains were working, all toilets were flushing, and my wife and I couldn't be happier. From now on, if I need any plumbing work, Lady Rooter will be first on my list. I heartily recommend them! Paul R. Cooper

Her staff were on time and efficient. They had the specialized equipment they needed and resolved our problem in about 20 minutes. We agreed that they would return a few days later and finish another aspect of the work and the charge for this additional work was about $140. All of the work was of high quality, the workers were knowledgeable, the lady who owns the business is very responsive and very knowledgeable. I do intend to use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a plumber in this area.

We had a sewage backup in the basement of our 1902 home on a Saturday morning. I called four plumbers and no one could come out until Monday. Lady Rooter had a person at our home in 45 minutes and the problem was solved in 20 minutes. He was professional and courteous.

I called and set up an appointment for someone to come out and investigate. The woman I spoke to was friendly enough and seemed competent. The day of the appoint I received a call from the technician. After discussing the issue by phone (I was expecting someone to arrive at the house), he recommended bringing a backhoe out to explore for about 350 an hour but it would need to occur another day. The appointment day came and went without anyone showing up or calling. It was the day before hurricane Sandy hit NY so I excused it, but it did annoy me. I should have at least received a reschedule call. I followed up a few weeks later and it seemed that I was completely forgotten. The day of my appointment they had to reschedule for the following day. When they came out the next day, they started digging and promptly found my drywell and problem. The technician was patient and answered my multitude of questions and explained what my options were. He covered it back up and left my yard in reasonable shape. I believe he was there longer than an hour but only charged me for the hour (plus tax). Interestingly, he had to ask me what price I was quoted even though he was the one who quoted me the price. But at least I wasn't charged beyond a single hour. Basically, my drywell is old and poorly constructed. I need to replace it or implement an alternative solution. I have not rectified the problem yet. A new drywell probably isn't worth the cost. I plan to talk to a different indoor plumber I have used in the past as I believe an indoor solution is probably most cost effective (David Black - I don't believe he does septic and drywell inspection like I required which is why I didn't contact him first). I don't plan to use Lady Rooter to fix this problem, but that's more because I'm already established with an indoor plumber. Lady Rooter seems (at least the technician I dealt with) rather disorganized but good enough. It is annoying to have to chase contractors to get work done. I would give them another shot if the need arises.

We had a leak in the line between the house and street that was leaking into our basement through the sump pump. Lady Rooter responded quickly to our call. When they learned the job could not accommodate Earth-moving equipment, they were able to pull together a team to hand dig the job. The team arrived late in the afternoon and worked until 9 PM to finish the job. They were extremely professional, responsive, neat and charged a fair price.
