Description of Work: Star Roofing replaced my existing roof with Certainteed shingles. The company came out the next day after I called to give me a written estimate. The salesman was out sick the following day and couldn't send me the final estimate so he called me from home (he sounded terrible) to let me know that the estimate would be delayed a day. The company always returned my emails immediately and the salesman even called me to let me know that a new discount was just made available. They are listed on the Certainteed website as a Certainteed Premier Contractor which means they can offer additional insurance. Star included the insurance at no additional charge. The insurance is for 50 years of non-prorated coverage for manufacturing defects. All labor and materials are covered. The crew showed up at the planned time and were on the roof within 5 minutes. The crew was from Ecuador. They come here during the roofing season and work for Star every year so they know what is expected of them. The foreman was local and was always on the job working along side the crew. These were the hardest working men I have ever seen. They were polite and cleaned up at the end of the day. They placed boards that they brought under the County Waste dumpster (I have seen CW dumpsters leave indents in driveways on other company's jobs). Neither the dumpster or the materials arrived until the crew was on site and the dumpster was removed before they left. They cleaned the yard as well as can be expected (I did find several nails in the shrub beds). My only complaint is that a couple of the shrubs were damaged by the tarps. They even cleaned the few scuffs that appeared on the siding. The roof looks good and they exceeded code with the ice and water barrier. They even used life time boots on the vent pipes. We have had two strong storms and no shingles came loose and there don't appear to be any leaks. Also, the owner visited the job site each day and found a few minor things that he instructed the foreman to take care of. Overall I am very happy with Star Roofing.
