They arrived on time, and did a great job installing the liner and replacing the cap. But they did not replace the cracked bricks at the top of the chimney like the salesman told me they would, I was given a **** and bull story about how the cracks would continue down the chimney if they tried to replace them, this makes no sense what so ever. They didn't seal the chimney either, when I asked them about it they said they did it, but the chimney was dry and the color hadn't darkened like it would if it were just sealed. Also they left a mess on my roof which is very visible. Would not hire this company again!!!

So, the ratings (my wife would not have graded them as high as I did! She's still ******...) above need some explanation: Things went well with the initial contact, discussion and getting a signed contract sent back to this father and two sons masonry business (may be more family involved, but I know there are two brothers and a father and they've been at this for a while and have a good reputation. Granted it was late in their season 2016 - October 1st or there about - but we were promised if they couldn't get to us to do the work they'd at least come wrap the chimney to prevent further damage to roof, existing chimney, etc. and return in the spring and do the job. At the time, we had money and were ready to go. By mid-November we never heard from them assumed they'd show up to wrap it...we got busy, they got not busy? I don't know...but the chimney survived the winter. All of the above was handled by son no. 1 - nice guy, etc. We heard from son no. 2 (very nice guy) in May-June 2017, he apologized for letting us slip through the cracks last fall and wanted to schedule us asap - they only do cash/check and we didn't have the money so we couldn’t, but told him we would by summer's end and we did and still do. And still need the thing done... Things went sideways in early September for us as family - dealing with severely injured 12yr son - as well as our relationship with the Pascal Family. We got very busy with our son's health and recovery and didn't return calls to son no. 1 for about a week; many others didn't get calls returned as well, we were focused on getting our son out of the hospital, recovered and back to school. Anyway, when we did get back to Mr. Pascal (no. 1) he and/or his father deemed our job/situation/us to be “sketchy”…I have never been called or referred to as being “sketchy.” (we still think they're probably nice people, for whatever reason things got weird.) After some phone exchanges, he said he’d make a pitch to the family as the family makes the decision on all work. We knew when hearing this how it was going to go… a few days later Mr. Pascal declined to do the work this fall and recommended someone else, yet asked if we’d be interested in them doing the work this next spring ’18. I think my wife asked if he was serious or was kidding or whatever…I don’t know…We’re confused, umm maybe perplexed is a better descriptor. Do we still need our chimney rebuilt? Yes. Would I work with the Pascal Family? Probably, because they do good work…Sure, we want a long-lasting chimney, right? Why am I posting this review? It’s been over a month since our last exchange, we’ve tried our best to get someone here to do the work, but have yet to succeed (some want to work time and materials only: don't we all). And here it’s November 1st and two signed contracts from them; and I'm left wondering if the **** thing will make it through another winter or fall into/on our new roof. If one of the Pascals are reading this: call us, we’ll take a deep breath and restart the conversation in a productive direction. Sorry for the negative review – I take this stuff seriously – but I don’t think we were dealt with fairly. We only wanted our chimney fixed.

They repaired the chimney on a 100 + yr old large 2 family house. The chimney was collapsing on itself and bricks falling inside. Being rental property, I didn't want to spend the money but was told by several contractors it was breaking city code and I could receive a citation if I didn't. I couldn't replace any furnace or hot water heater until this was done. They responded very quickly even though its says they're in Auburn. Very professional and fast. They tour down the exposed chimney (4 ft) and loose bricks further inside, replaced the flashing, built it up and installed a cap on top (keeps the squirrels out too). They came in and completed it one day. It looks great. It was expensive, but a little bit lower than the other bids. They were eager to make me happy and even walked around the roof to look for other possible damage from squirrels. I also had them inspect my foundation while they were there. Planning to have them back in the spring to address to repair the foundation. They know their stuff.

Excellent job. The chimney cap is massive; 3 feet by 10 feet. The entire top was removed, degraded chimney tiles were replaced, and a new limestone edged cap was applied. The sheer size of the completed structure caused some sagging, but they were very quick in applying a domed cement coat to the top.

These guys are terrific. From providing an estimate to completing the job, they always showed up when they said they would. They started work on the job at about 7:30 a.m. and tore down and rebuilt until they were finished. I'm a woman who has to make repair decisions for a 120 year old house. Didn't know anything about the price of chimney repair or replacement, but was told by friends that it was a good price. The Pascal brothers and their crew were patient with my inquiries, professional and courteous. Oh and did I say........it looks great.

Bob and his crew did an excellent job which took one and a half days. They came early the second day to finish installing the cap and allow the concrete to set before the anticipated afternoon rain arrived. The rain arrived earlier than forecast and because I had concerns, Bob came back to make sure the concrete had set and was not damaged by the heavy rain. All in all, I was very happy with outcome and would highly recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Removed and hauled away the old deteriorated concrete crown. Re-enforced, leveled and secured base. Installed a custom cut, mitered 2 " limestone crown.Raised and modified existing metal flex cap. Removed and replaced broken and non-matching bricks from previous repair( different contractor). Water sealed entire chimney. Everything was picked up and cleaned up after they completed the project.

This company is great!! The father takes care of setting up site visits, estimates and general customer relations. He's terrific and very easy to work with, knows his stuff and doesn't try to over sell what needs to be done. Very comfortable to talk to and open for questions and explains everything so I understand it. Then his son and the crew came in and actually did the work and beautiful work it is. I've worked with many different craftsmen in my time, all types and qualities and these guys are top notch.!! Really! I will definitely have them back when we are ready to do the foundation restoration and repairs, no doubt about it. True craftsmen.

Very professional service. impeccable workmanship. trustworthy individuals. We had a first rate experience. Bob and his dad came to the house promptly and provided written estimates and explained all the work that would be done and in what time frame ( barring bad weather). They were genuinely excited to work on our home and help bring her back to beauty. Bob spent time researching our home and coming up with a colored morter that would have been used in the 1930s. This is a family business and everyone in his family pitched in it seemed. The workmanship was impeccable. Neighbors are raving. We will have them back to do the rest of the house. As it was a big job, we decided to do in steps and Pascale was ok with that.

From beginning to end it was a great experience! From the phone call from Jack to set up a time to come out and give us a quote all the way till Bob and his helper, Ryan left. Jack sent a handwritten note thanking us for our time and gave us our schedule date. Bob and Ryan arrived on time, were courteous and professional. Bob explained everything in detail to us and answered all of our questions. It took them about a day and a half which is exactly how long they told us to expect. When they wrapped up the job they cleaned up the job site and thanked us again. Best customer service we have experienced since moving from Texas! We will definitely use them on our next project!

I received estimates from six contractors but chose Bob Pascal because of his obvious knowledge of the work to be performed, and also because of his great reviews here on Angie's list. It was a very good decision indeed. Bob showed up when he said he would, and he completed the work on time and as promised. He and his brother Jack did all the work themselves, and were professional and courteous during the entire project. It's clear that they really take pride in the work they do. Customer satisfaction is obviously their number one priority. On the first day they dismantled the old chimney, carefully removed all the concrete and bricks and then placed all the debris into their trailer. On the second day on-site they built the new chimney with great looking bricks, made the forms for the concrete crown at the top of the chimney, and poured the concrete. I was amazed they were able to accomplish that much in one day. On the third day they installed the new copper flashing around the base of the chimney and replaced all of the roofing shingles that needed replacing. Because the concrete crown was not adequately dry on this date, they returned the next day to remove the forms and finish the job. I watched their progress throughout the entire project and am convinced I could not have found anyone to do this job any better than they did. At the end of each day they carefully cleaned up the entire area, - driveway, yard, etc. I am very happy that I chose Robert Pascal Chimney and Roofing Restorations for my chimney project. I definitely recommend Bob Pascal for any project you need to have done.

Pascal was congenial, personable and very professional - very nice to work with. He said that we needed a total tear down of the chimney as it was ~ 55 years old and had major cracks with portions of bricks missing, especially in the first 3 rows of chimney brick. He brought over samples of new brick to choose from. He started the job when he said he would (He doesn't like to work on more than one project at a time which was fine with us) and he completed it when he said he would. As he was tearing down the old chimney, a large chunk got away from him although he tried very hard to control it. He couldn't. He came down right away to tell us what had happened as he was very concerned that the falling brick might have damaged some shrubs. The shrubs were fine. No problem. He tore down the old Chimney, replaced it with new brick, a new crown and copper flashing. He also had to replace some roof shingles as he was installing the new flashing. It looks beautiful!!! He's a true artist and very proud of his work! He reiterated that if there were any issues, to contact him. He also assured me that he rebuilt the chimney large enough for Santa to fit through! Just in time for Christmas!!! He did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything very well.

Bob arrived on time with one helper. The helper was supervised at all times with Bob doing all of the finishing work. All of the work looks great. The work site was left neat and clean. He needed to return on Monday to remove the framework at the top of the chimney. Again he arrived as scheduled. Bob was professional, easy to work with, and paid attention to my concerns. He was very honest and when asked about another job, he told me it wasn't his area of expertise. Bob went above and beyond what I hired him to do. He noticed my porch flashing wasn't nailed down and fixed it for me. I would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others.

Excellent! Bob is easy to work with, he sets expectations and seeks to exceed them. I would recommend him for any roofing, remodeling or general construction project.
Description of Work: Bob has done a great deal of work remodeling my 1900's home in the Westcott Section of Syracuse. Bob was the chef engineer of DB Pascal directing all of the work and crews on each project. He has since struck out on his own. I Projects he has completed including complete tear down and chimney removal of my roof. Bob added a great deal of historical character with copper touches. Another project he has done was to rebuild my front porch and steps adding stone veneer and limestone step it is stunning. Most recently, Bob finished my attic, which is about 700sqft into a Master Bedroom with a huge walk in closet, bathroom and two smaller storage closets. He framed, insulated, wired, and did all the finish work. He even redirected my stairs to make the access and floor space more efficient. It is breathtaking. I would highly recommend Bob for any project related to home construction.
