Work went well - difficult doors, but Mitch and his assistant had the knowledge & equipment to overcome difficulty - all this was done on an incredibly hot day. This was done on my daughter's house. They even went to my house (2 blks away) and repaired a faulty medeco lock I had - at no additional charge.

Great service, prompt and professional. Tenaciously worked on the door until he had it fixed. I truly believe anyone else would have told me I needed a new lock mechanism after a few minutes of trying. In this old door it would have been very costly; I appreciated the effort very much. Thank you Jerry! (Oh and he gave my dog a treat which kept him happy while the door was open lol)

The whole process went flawlessly. Gerry Schmitt quickly replied to my emailed quote request, and arrived a day later. He showed up on time and did a great job (i.e. work was done right, they cleaned up any mess, and they were extremely friendly and professional). I would definitely have them back in the future.

Jerry accommodated me in every way possible. I explained to him my situation that I had an immediate need based on our main use of that door, my alarm pad being associated at that door, and my schedule the next day. He came after closing time and was upfront about all charges, including the after hours one. He was able to, because of his extensive experience, match my lock with the same brand and antique brass style when I really think no other to very few locksmith's would have been able to do that. This enabled him to re-key my door allowing my wife and son who were out to use the same keys when they got home. The weather was also very bad but Jerry did not let that deter him helping me. Overall Jerry was very professional, was very sincere and you could tell he makes customer service a high priority. The fact that he was local was a bonus.

Work went smoothly. Jerry was very knowledgeable and did a great job. Lock is working great. He is personable and a craftsman.

When I called they were able to make an appointment for the next day. Jerry showed up when he said he would. He was very nice, knowledgeable and a pleasure. He was respectful, neat and tidy and was happy to explain the work he was doing and why he was doing it. I would recommend him for any type of locksmith job. We will be hiring him again in the spring to replace our storm doors. I was happy to hear he can also do car key replacements as well as electronic entries etc.

Jerry was very professional over the phone and in person. We needed three locks rekeyed upon moving into a new house. He was knowledgeable and honest with me on what was necessary vs. what would just be a nice to have. He was on time and worked quickly. I would definitely use him again!

Gerald and Charlie showed up exactly in the time frame given me when the appointment was made. They examined the doors,which I was convinced by the people who installed them would be a problem and right away, I could see they knew what they were doing. They very friendly and totally professional. The front door had to be slightly drilled out so the new lock,which was much better than the ones the door installers used,would fit. They made everything look easy, made no mess and overall did a great job. No damage to my expensive new doors at all. Now I have excellent new locks to match my new doors.

Jerry was very prompt and did the job quickly and professionally. He was also very knowledgeable and gave me some great tips! He prepped the door and installed a deadbolt lock, re-keyed 4 locks made up four new keys for me right on his truck. All keys work well without any sticking or difficulty using.

Above and beyond. Jerry came out on very short notice, with a lock that fit my exact specifications. When Jerry realized that the home's previous owner had done poor construction on the door, he took the extra time to fix the hinges and get the door opening and closing like new. He's also very nice and courteous. I'll work with him again.

I have been dealing with Jerry Schmitt, for over 20 years. I had found is number in the yellow pages back in the 90"s. I had locked myself out of my car ,in the rain ,at my job in Lake Success, with my young daughter. He was there in minutes, It was dark and I was afraid, everybody had gone home and I was there by myself. When he got there I felt so relieved. I kept his number because he lef t such an impression on me, that I thought if I ever needed a locksmith I could trust, he would be the one. Good thing I did because in 2005, I had him come to my home and change my door locks, He remembered me from the first incident. Again, so honest and kind. I held on to his number but he had relocated, and I found him on Angies List. He came yesterday, and I was so happy to see him. He had to change my locks once again because of a domestic dispute concerning my family. He changed 3 locks, issued 4 keys, and helped me change the garage door code, even replaced a light bulb in my garage. He went above and beyond. I can't say enough about him. If you need a trusting locksmith, who will not rip you off call Jerry at Install a lock he is the BEST!! Also, no hidden fees, whatever he quotes, that is the price.

The installation went well. Jerry was quick, efficient, and professional. He detailed what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also explained why he was replacing my inferior, non-US made front door lock only 2 yrs after it was installed by a different locksmith. His knowledge and transparency was appreciated. After he finsihed I felt the job was done with superior quality and I wont have to worry about the lock for many years to come.

Jerry was terrific. A real pro. He came in a snowstorm and installed a badly needed deadbolt on the day before our vacation. He had to cut the door and the jamb, and install a new strike plate. He quickly assessed and cured problems with the door that had been going on for years. He was just great. My highest recommendation.

This is the second time I used them. The first time was to replace 2 cylinders in my former residence; the second time was to change the lock in my new one. I highly recommend this company. I called on a Sunday of Christmas weekend. I was quoted the price over the phone and the locksmith was at my home in less than 90 minutes. He was in a marked, fully equipped service van. The gentleman was courteous, professional and knowledgable. He explained my options and did the job quickly. He removed my two old keys from my key ring and replaced them with the one new key. I would certainly use their service in the future.
