It was terrible. I had to contact the town as the walls on the foundation were uneven and not straight. The town made him remove and redo. He then kept demanding his next payment even though the work was terrible and not complete yet. I refused to do so and he then threated to file a Mechanics Lien on my property. I told him go ahead. He then went to the property with some of his workers and harassed my daughter who is on disability and loves there. The work he contracted with me to do is still not complete and can't be as the Concrete for can't be saw cut as it has to be done within 24 to 48 hours. It's been weeks. He left the door opening with broken blocks lift not cut and rough. When I met with him, he blamed on not being able to find good help. I told him I know how that is meaning him. I paid him some of what he was owed to get him to stop his harassment of my daughter. Mr. Jayson should be ashamed of himself and his work. My advice, don't hire this company or Scalpellino Concrete, LLC as if they are run both by Mr. Jayson you will get a crappy job done and disrespectful service.

Do not use Derald Jayson or his business, Precision Block & Concrete, for any concrete work. Derald was subcontracted through a pool contractor to pour my concrete deck and the awful results: - Deck had cracks everywhere without every stepping foot in the pool. - Concrete was caked all over my fence and garage. Simple wipe, or covering the areas prior to the pour would’ve helped- Common sense. - He covered large areas of my backyard with chunks of concrete. Real cool of Darold since my kids, who were just learning to walk, typically play out there. - Just prior to the pour, with the old deck torn out, the price of his work went up thousands despite him pouring a smaller area than originally planned. Sneaky way to force me to pay more. - He spoke lowly of the same pool contractor who subcontracts work out to him. He was not exactly quiet about it. Derald’s answer to the above: - There was no cleanup in the contract or a contract specifically with him. I figured a contract doesn’t need to be established for such, any reputable contractor cleans up their work once complete. Then again, I said any reputable contractor- something Darold is not. - After a year or so of trying to reach him, he changed his tune and said concrete is going to crack, essentially saying he’s not coming back, despite a year earlier leaving me under the impression he would come back and fix his shoddy work. Yes, concrete may crack down the road, but not soon after it is poured. Such a rapid defect- as other contractors have said- points to the contractor being the issue, not the weather elements or time. - He said to speak with the pool contractor, which is his attempt to deflect since the pool contractor can’t help me, he doesn’t do concrete work. Darold knows that and the pool contractor admitted such. Other reviews match my experience, so save yourself the headache, look elsewhere for a mason.

See above. Derald and his team were professional and extremely competent. They went above and beyond with their work. In fact, we are planning to contract with him again for another project.

They showed up on the specified date and began the project. The owner kept me apprised of all the different parts of the project. During the course of the work I wanted to make some changes to the original contract, and found they were very flexible and the added work didn't cost me anything. The work was of high quality and they finished ahead of schedule. The owner then walked me through the entire project to make sure I was satisfied with the quality of the work. It doesn't get any better than that. The owner then shook my hand, and told me the work is guaranteed for life and to call if him is there was ever a problem. Can't go wrong with Precision Block and Concrete.

Daryl's quality of work was very poor. There were a lot of imperfections in concrete work. Daryl left job site 2 to 3 times during the few weeks on the job and would not return phone calls or apologize for not showing up. Stairs built were sloppy and not up to code. Left ruts in my yard. Also left a mess in yard.
