After many failed attempts trying to get estimates from other local contractors, Sunset was very timely in responding to our request. Roman arrived on time, was thorough in assessing our needs, and spent the time necessary for us to make a sound decision. Once we decided Sunset was the partner for us, Roman was able to schedule our roof replacement within a week. The damage below the four layers of shingles required a complete tear-off and new plywood on our entire roof, which was a bit more than expected. I found it helpful that Paul was transparent along the way with the team's findings, so there were no surprises when my final bill arrived. The replacement of our prior skylight and addition of a second one added much-needed natural light into our kitchen. We now have a great-looking roof complemented by two gorgeous skylights coupled with the peace of mind that we will be able to enjoy for years to come. I highly recommend Sunset Roofing. They performed a complete shingle tear-off and replacement on our 31-year-old house. It was the third roof on our house. The house has a complicated roofline with dormer intersections and also included replacing three skylights. Sunset Roofing was very responsive in addressing and completing our job within one week of first contact. The Sunset Roofing team was professional and efficient throughout the install and performed a superb job. Two days after the roof installation was complete, about 2.35 inches of rain fell in Rochester on 7/17/21. There were no water leaks anywhere in the house during or after this excessive windblown rainfall event. The complete absence of leaks during this heavy rainfall is note-worthy because the previous two roofs that were installed by other contractors leaked throughout their lifetimes.

Sunset Roofing was excellent. Price was competitive. Their communication was quick and always responsive. The work was completed in a timely fashion and within discussed time frames. Staff and work crew was polite, professional and hardworking. They took care to protect our property while working. Their work was meticulous!

From the start Roman was a pleasure to work with, he came out gave an estimate including that there may be additional plywood that needed to be replaced after walking the old roof (this wasn't a shock to me) The work was scheduled and the workers arrived early, did the complete job in one day and cleaned up the work area so you'd never know they were there. I had a minor problem with the boot on one vent pipe and Roman had someone out the next day to replace it. Roof looks fantastic, was the price quoted, pleasant people to work with and a functional roof you can have faith in as they stand by their work 100%. I would trust this business to provide quality work at a fair price all the time. They will have my return business and high recommendation!

They started bright and early in the morning. They were clean and efficient. No messes were left anywhere. They were finished by 3pm and the roof looks great! I am super pleased.

1st, no-show (and no call to us). Rescheduled for Friday, told no reason it wouldn't be finished in 1 day. Assured no one would use leaf-blower on roof which would ruin gardens, 1 edible, on 2 sides and dirt drive in front. They did/gardens ruined, huge mess not cleaned up. Told no tarps needed to protect packed garage/shop and mudroom: "insulation would catch most debris." Mudroom ceiling damaged beyond repair, dirt/detritus everywhere. Workers advised us at 4 pm they'd be leaving. Calls/texts to Roman unanswered. Finally replied he'd talk to them. Left anyway: gutters torn off (unnecessarily) and ruined, left on ground, along with dangling soffit, torn off fascia. 1 guy came Sat., did not finish. No word of what next, calls/texts unanswered. Heavy rain: no gutters, hanging soffit materials acted as funnels, flagstone courtyard and garden flooded, water poured under garage door, mudroom door, into garage ceiling and down mudroom front wall: all warped, door no longer closes, moldings sprung. 66 yrs old, disabled, and on a ladder trying to tape soffits/dig drainage trenches in storm. Job 'finished' next day: gutters leak at corners (can see dayllght through joins, flooding patio, mess left, damaged materials we taped up reused. Mudroom ceiling no longer meets walls--they punched a big hole on it and there is so much junk on it, it has popped screws/warped. Sent emails with pics 6 weeks ago, no response. We chose them because of good reviews here. Alas.

The roofing team arrived early Monday morning and work tirelessly from 8:00AM to 7:30PM. The work was done efficiently and they were polite. They finish most of the job in one day. A smaller team came the next day and finished the work. A small shed, that was not included in the work proposal was also re-roofed. The company absorbed the mistake, which was beyond professional. They also took down an old tv antennae that had been up on the roof for decades! The extra work was terrific. Thank you to Sunset Roofing! Also when I was getting estimates for this job, they were the only business that told me that I could file an insurance claim for some wind damage that was found. Again thank you.

My husband and I reached out to sunset roofing for an estimate on our roof, for a total tear off. Roman came out to do the estimate and answered all my questions showed us our options and went though everything. We contacted him a few days later to set up the job and he was out to help us with some minor details. From the very beginning he showed wonderful customer service and he was definitely a customer advocate, which really sold me to go with Sunset Roofing. He had us on the schedule very quickly, and the entire process took less then 2 weeks from getting the estimate to having the roof replaced. I live in Brighton, N.Y. and have an 1940 over-sized cape with several roofs and seams. It was in need of a full tear-off and new roof. After sitting down with several other roofing companies and coming away unimpressed, I decided to give Sunset a call since they had a 5-star rating. And, boy, am I glad that I did! Sunset was the only company to actually get up on my roof during the estimate process and take closeup photos. More importantly, Sunset was the only roofing company that I interviewed that suggested we work with my insurance company since it was clear that my roof suffered from wind damage. And guess what? Sunset saved me $23,000.00! Sunset completed the job in two days. They were professional, punctual, and best of all proficient--my roof looks amazing and is the talk of the neighborhood. My house is over 150 years old. So Sunset was presented with several unexpected challenges. Roman was very helpful to navigate through some of those challenges, with using quality materials. Roman and his team at Sunset have done several jobs on our roof. While we are very pleased with all the work they have done, and have found the pricing to be very fair, what keeps bringing us back to Sunset is Roman's helpfulness and responsiveness. He has never failed to help us out with any issue on our roof, no matter how small. Further, he responds sometimes immediately and comes out within a day. I've never worked with any kind of contractor who responds so promptly, with such courtesy, and with such follow through as Roman at Sunset does.
