Description of Work: Referred a client to resolve a major slate roof problem that could not be fixed by two other contractors. He resolved all issues, and my client is thrilled. Therefore this is not a firsthand experience.

+ -1 moreDave is clearly passionate about his craft. He has a wide range of slate tiles to draw on in order to match the existing material. He employs the traditional methods, and is very thorough in making a professional job. Where there was a hard leak to track down, he persisted until he found the precise problem, and fixed it properly. With the barn job, he brought a professional carpenter to ensure the base was sound, and the roof not only looks good, it has been totally watertight these last two winters. He takes a genuine interest in the job, and I was so impressed that he came by this last summer to check for leaks, etc. at no cost. It's a bonus that he is also such a cheerful and pleasant person too!
Description of Work: The first time Dave came round was to repair slate on the roof of our main house. He found and fixed all the leaks and replaced and straightened up a number of slates. He did such a good job, I got him back to replace the old roof on the barn. His team stripped off the old one, installed a standing seam steel roof, repaired and replaced timber facia and trim. This year he called by to check the slate, did a couple of adjustments, at no cost. Dave has also done work for my next-door neighbor and she is also very impressed by his skill and efficiency.
